We made a terrible mistake when we bought our car from Alan Day. The car picked up a fault and we had to take it in after a two-month wait. The car was in and out in a couple of days, but I soon realised that part of the fault hadn’t been fixed, and they had actually created three new ones. After a week of trying to get the car fixed, I rang them up to re-book it so they could see what they had done. I was told I would have to wait six months for an investigatory appointment. Just to get them to see what they had done or didn’t do, I would have to wait half a year.Over the last month, I’ve been trying to figure out what they had done, but speaking to them is such a pain. You can stay polite and reasonable, but they will (especially the receptionists who take the call) actively show disdain if you politely stand your ground and don’t take no for an answer.I’ve been told on several occasions when I point out their bad service, which isn’t even subtle, that I can always take my car to a different service partner. Except they know I can’t because no other dealership wants to take a car that’s been worked on by anyone at Alan Day. Seriously, that’s what two other dealers actually told me.These people don’t care about their brand, their work, or their customers. If I can get even one person to think twice about getting a car from them, it will have been worth it.
I was trying to get a car on finance and Darnell decide to get my details and to complete the finance request for me , i apply on 16 of April and they request £1000 deposit which i paid and i was decline .Darnell didn't apply for my finance only after a lot off calls from me asking if i was accepted or not and after i was declined i try to contact him 20 times regarding my deposit and no answer at all , 28 May and i still not get my money back .Try to avoid Allan Day Southgate or at least avoid Darnell when apply for finance .
Hi I apply vehicle finance 19 October. They taking deposit 309 and they telling me if his fines wasn’t successful refund this amount after a couple of days they come back to me finance wasn’t successful and then they saying I’m gonna refund your money and then we work for more than four months. They didn’t refund it. I called them email to them many times. He keep saying to me we refund it fourth of November. I send it to BANK statement proof of everything we called my bank definitely I didn’t received this amount Very bad services not just to buy the vehicle after sale service is a bit more important. Please done trust these people.
I reserved a car on Wednesday, just received an email next day asking what is registration number of the car I made reservation as they are not sure it is still available. With not receiving further update via the email or phone call, phone to the brunch ourselves on Friday and they re-insured us that they are waiting for us on Saturday. Went all the way from Essex (took us about 1.5h) and they are telling us the car gone! They were not able to offer anything else even similar to the car. They said someone came to pay deposit for the car on Tuesday, but I reserved it on Wednesday and NOBODY was able to inform me about that till Saturday! Extremely disappointed and I would avoid this car dealer at all costs in the future. Just to add to all story a car was still parked outside - did not had any note that it sold/ reserved.
I tried a car with Alan Day Hampstead over 3 years ago and never signed up to receive marketing communications but am now being contacted via email with no 'unsubscribe' link within the email, this is illegal under GDPR regulations. While the actual experience provided during my visit was pretty bad, my main issue is the way Alan Day is handling my data.During my visit the receptionist ignored us and chatted to a sales rep, when she finally asked who I was there to see and I said I had an appointment to try car she said ‘the sales rep is busy’ and to wait while she went back to chatting. The rep was in the car with us the whole time, which isn’t an issue but was strange and something we hadn’t experienced at any other dealership, I told him I didn’t know the area so he needed to guide me on where to go. He proceeded to not say anything or guide me at all. When we got back to the dealership I told him I wasn’t too interested in buying the car, he then started asking me a checklist of questions to see if I was able to get a loan which wasn’t something we had discussed at all.I got a feedback request about a week after my visit and wrote all this back to them, I got 1 phone call that I couldn’t pick up and that was that. Or so I thought. To my surprise I get an email almost 2 weeks ago from Charles Oakley (but signed by Azmol Uddin, who is actually no longer with the company) at Alan Day starting off with ‘Apologies for the direct contact but our friendly computer system has you marked as someone who has made an enquiry with us, and with news like this we felt it would be wrong not to shout about it.’ Then basically pushing me to schedule an appointment and buy a car from them.First of all, I had a bad experience that I fed back to the team and yet you’re saying you want to ‘shout about it, second of all why is your friendly computer storing my data for over 3 years when never agreed to receive marketing communications?, third of all there is no ‘unsubscribe’ option anywhere in the email which is against GDPR law.I replied and added their ‘feedback’ email address that is included in the email, informing them that contacting customers who haven’t agreed to be marketed to is illegal under GDPR and to be deleted from their database, I haven’t heard back since (over 10 days) so I am forced to leave this 1 star review to let others know that if they book an appointment their data will be stored forever and used for any purpose the reps at Alan Day feel like.

Alan day volkswagen in southgate are such rude people. Down to the receptionist, the garage department the help desk. Absolutely a nightmare i left crying. As there so ignorant and rude, this is not the first for them if I'm honest. It's the way they talk to you, like they don't need your money. Ok well I will take it else where. The manager not sure of his name, thought he was owner of VW the way he carried on. Absolutely dreed going there i would rather travel elsewhere. Loughton VW are great people had a good experience in there. SOUTHGATE PEOPLE STAY CLEAR
