DO NOT USE THIS VW DEALERSHIP

DO NOT USE THIS VW DEALERSHIP. Sold a vehicle with extras that cannot be fitted onto the vehicle. We have been charged for the extras though….Every time we spoke to Martin Sweeney he lied to us on every question asked if he replied at all. Still waiting for him to get back to me 4/5 weeks later when he said he’s get right back to me! Emailed since and no replyPlenty of other good VW dealerships to use, stay away from these.

Poor service recovery

Loyal customer for more than a decade. New used car sold to me last year with all the necessary paperwork completed. Smooth transaction with friendly and professional salesman. Fast forward a year and it turns out that the vehicle did not have a valid MOT. Alerted the dealership as soon as I found out. Had to leave the car at home as it was illegal to drive and take a taxi to work. As a way of apology Alan Day offered me a box of chocolates and agreed to refund me the £60 taxi fare. It’s been over a month and after 2 voicemails and an email, i’m still awaiting the refund. Totally unacceptable and a very poor level of service to a loyal customer.

Seriously DO NOT bother coming to ALAN DAY VW HAMPSTEADThere are loads of other VW dealers in the UK to go to !!! They are rude, arrogant and really just do not care about the customer from almost the out-start. SERIOUSLY GO ELSEWHERE

Buying a new VW made easy

A thoroughly easy, flexible and enjoyable experience buying a new car.What can be fraught and stressful was made easy by Tony Mancini who was helpful, knowledgeable and patient. Tony offered advice and options when I was unsure and asked (on both vehicles and finance) and gave me space when I needed to consider.I’m really please with my new car and finance package. We took a test drive with Daniel in an ID.3. Neither of us had driven an electric car before but he totally put us at ease. Transactions manager James was really helpful too, and next thing we knew we’d bought it. Very happy with our experience. Nice coffee too - Alex Skorecki

VW allow these jokers to rep the brand?

How is it possible that VW Group allow these turnips to continue representing their brand in London?? Mind boggling. This is quite possibly the worst experience I have ever experienced in any sector. As many of the reviews below state, they lie, ignore instructions from HQ, refuse to book anything in unless they’re sure it’s a high revenue job, just chaotic and jumbled mumbo jumbo whenever one makes contact with them. And this is all before they’ve got their dirty greedy hands on the car. What follows is, quite literally, on another level. None of the work is done to any professional standard whatsoever. Electrical work is downright dangerous and risky, they need to be banned from doing any work to any cars. And if one even begins to voice any concerns, the yobs at the front of house are almost ready to roll up their sleeves. It’s a complete and utter joke and a massive embarrassment to VW Group. More recently, VW Group in Germany (who are an absolutely amazing, focused and customer-centric team) investigated a fault that Alan Day could barely understand the components involved. It transpired that some software issue had meant that the car had never functioned properly. The team arranged a patch and sent it wirelessly to Alan Day and called me to explain what would happen next. The software would be updated for free. then… nothing. Weeks after chasing Alan Day, I went in and and all they had to do was press a button. Commotion, chaos, crying, tantrums. They simply refused to do it because there was no money in it. They wanted c.£300 or whatever the diagnostics charge is. For what? We already have a diagnosis and a treatment plan. Just press the button. And they also wanted a diagnostic charge to diagnose the dangerous electrical mess they believe qualifies as ‘professional fitting’. It’s a complete and utter s#itshow and every time I think of how they acted, I’m more shocked that VW Group allow these clowns to represent their brand in London of all places. I’m buying 1 share in VW Group and the CEO needs to be sent a letter. They’re performing what I consider such substandard work that it’s probably illegal and who do they think they are, ignoring what VW Group figured out needs fixing. Get rid. Not required!. p.s Allan Day people / the below date is approx. I’m sure you know who I am but reach out if you’re not sure. I’m certainly not trying to mask the visit date.

Antonio in the Skoda department is…

Antonio in the Skoda department is amazing went the extra mile totally went out of his way to ensure I had the car I wanted, when I wanted it and ensured it was presented amazingly! He sourced the car in stock and ensured I got it! This is by far the best dealer experience I’ve ever had and will 100% return for my another car when it’s time! He is a asset to Alan day!

Avoid for servicing

Avoid - poor servicing departmentIgnorance/incompetence about recalls and servicing. Phoned to book in our id.3 for 2 year service at Hampstead. We were told that the car also needed a battery recall and a software update but Hampstead branch not a 'battery competent' site so we would need to be taken to Southgate for that in 2 months time. They said they could do a service at Hampstead in the meantime. After dropping car off today and returning home by train, we got a phone call to say they could not service the car before the 2.4 software update. Apparently VW wont allow it, No meaningful apology or attempt to mitigate the mistake given - just come back and pick up your car. When we picked up the car (not even washed!), it was apparent that the manager did not understand details of the recall at all. He thought it was just a software update - unaware of the battery issue. We have now booked car in with another dealer for its service who confirmed it can be done before the recall as recalls are taking a long time to be done.Alan Day wasted our time and, worse the manager was unhelpful, cold, lacked knowledge and did not care. We will never use Alan Day again.
