I recently received a motor policy renewal notice from Allianz. My premium has been increased by 25% with no explanation, I am driving the same car with no claims of convictions. I have tried to contact someone but discovered it's no longer possible, I have to do everything online. Additionally, I can see a sneaky term inserted in my online account that says if I do nothing, the payments will just continue. I thought that consumer protections in Ireland meant that providers have to give a clear choice to customers. I'm busy cancelling my direct debit before shopping around once again. I'd advise others to do the same.
The temporary cover process is unnecessarily rigid and poorly designed. I own both vehicles and requested short term cover to complete NCT and repairs, with no concurrent use. Despite this, cover was refused due to internal anti fraud rules, even though similar transfers were previously approved. The only alternatives offered were one day cover or extremely expensive weekly rates, forcing me to arrange insurance elsewhere. They mention their website as a factor when it had nothing to do with the issue I experienced. Technology auto responders and lazy process clearly endemic here. I hope an actual person reads this and improves it for others.
The customer service team have obviously decided not to answer any calls this morning as the line goes to a dead line after ringing out correctly stating there is only one call in the Q and then disconnects the call after a minute or so. This has happened multiple times, what a joke.
Contacted Alianz house emergency to report water leak in our hot press. Within 10 minutes a plumber arrived from Allianz - his name is Michael. Very polite guy had our problem sorted very quickly. Could not be happier - great service!!
Car hit me from behind. Person accepted responsibility. Minor damage. Both of us with allianz yet it took 3 months to resolve. They just won't answer the phones to me or broker and then when do say they are not the correct team to take the call and the correct team "crash team" don't take calls. Clearly understaffed to save money.
