Review Time
At the beginning of the year I canceled my AMEX account that I had had since the turn of the century because AMEX became ageist and unresponsive. My 79 year-old wife mistakenly ordered a $177.95 product that was shipped through Cartpanda. I mailed the unopened product to the return address. After a great many calls and disputes filed with AMEX, it refused to refund the $177.95 because we (I'm 81) did not follow Cartpanda's return policy-that neither of us knew anything about. We're both Technically challenged so I doubt we could have followed it if we had known about. AMEX's customer service reps were unfailingly polite-Cartpanda's never were-but still we got nothing from AMEX. I never objected to paying AMEX's annual fee, but after this experience I never again will, and urge others not to. As retired on fixed incomes, we still feel violated.
One star richly deserved. Amex seems no longer to care about their reputation and procedures. Laughable 4 hour long waste of time exercise today and yesterday where they demanded I upload my drivers licence because I have been a customer for a long time (15 years) and my ID needs revalidating. Fine if the law requires that. But then their form to upload the licence demands a drivers licence number (which contains letters and numbers) and no matter what is entered it comes up with this error message saying the form cannot be submitted because the field requires both letters and numbers. Go figure. If their coders cannot get this right am I sure my money is safe. Then you can't log in because this document is missing. Then have a 2 hour long messaging chat about it. Then call and get put through to three people in a sequence (after being cut off the first time). The first person says it is a known problem which they are going to fix. The fix is to pass you through to someone else and then to a third person who then says they are not fixing the problem. What a complete mess of a company - and a company which once had a stellar reputation. God help us all.
Now that I have made 2 payments in 5 days. One of them you stole. You accepted my payment then told me it got returned so I paid it again. 5 days later you reprocess the original payment without my knowledge even though you already received a different payment. Now you put a hold on my account I've sent almost $200 to your conpany. The original payment was $95 and I still can't use my card. Worst credit card provider and customer service. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.
After being with amircan express for over 13 years, and spending millions of dollars on there cards over the years, the refused to cover some fees when I traveled that I wasn't aware of, there customer service is terrible now , they used to have the best, but not any more, I will be given my business to other companies
I recently got a american express credit card, all went well all of sudden they issued missed payment to credit file for their technical issue of direct debit settings, this had drastically reduced the credit score, worried about the mortgages and finances
American Express has been horrible to deal with. I currently have a NEGATIVE balance meaning they OWE me money from rewards points. Yet my card was declined. They put a temporary hold on my card until they reviewed my account WHATEVER THE F* that means. I gave them bank statements and paystubs. Then they said they approved my accounts. A MONTH AGO they said I was CLEARED. Yet today I used it for $21 and it was declined, yet they have had it cleared for a month and OWE me money. I called and they are trying to figure it out. American Express is a terrible company to deal with. WHAT A JOKE, I make more in a week than both cards combined limits, so there was no reason to even do their STUPID REVIEW!!!!
Been a member since 2007, no issues, never late and now while out of the country on vacation I get a call that they have decided to close all of my accounts ( platinum card, business checking and business line of credit ) as I was being accused of being basically a criminal ( specifically drug related ) and wouldn't allow me to speak with anyone that's their decision was final, just like the country we live in without any due process. I HAVE NEVER HEARD ON TV OR NEWS OF drug dealers with credit scores above 800, LOL adding some humor but am rather frustrated at this company.
I have been a member since 1990. I received a notice that they aren't happy with my payments. I have the Delta gold card. If you want more money from me then ask. I would pay more than minium sometimes multiples a month. Now they decided it wasn't enough. Unless I gave them $1500 within a few days they would cut my limit in half. Sorry. I just don't have 1500 sitting in my navel. I called twice to ask if I paid the card off will they reinstate my original limit? I have never been treated so poorly. I should say spoke to? Like I am some dead bet. And rude. Go to the email we sent you. it tells you what you need to do. Really, guess what, the website is no help. I finally found the notice. But where do I put the information you asked for? I figured try the chat. I had the AI, plus two customer service reps. I explained as simply as I could what I wanted. After waiting for 3 min? I was asked all the info I had typed into the little window. I was good and did nott say go back and read what I typed. But then that person was gone. Now Im waiting for a new person. I asked did you read everything? Yes she or he said. Great. Then asked me the questions that I had already given answers to. I responded, I believe you just read my info. But that fell short. They were gone too. I finally walked away since I had a client. I went again, to the site. Finally find I could upload a file. I wrote what I needed figured out how to move it to the computer but nope. Their system doen't reconize that format. I give up
Took AMEX 3 months ... but still not able to resolve my issue and they screwed it up to the next level too. But no one in AMEX seems to be bother and give a shit !! I refuse all communication, including invoices, till my case is resolved and compensated for what I have gone through properly for the past months!!
