I purchased a set of reading glasses online, paying for polycarbonate high quality lenses. Vendor sent me cheap dollarstore lenses in the frames. In 2 weeks the flimsy plastic began to spider crack.Disputed the charge. American Express sided with the shady vendor. An appeal did nothing. Zero customer representation with American Express. Horrible company that does not back, protect, or investigate matters with probity.
IM SO FRUSTRATED RIGHT NOWI have a business blueprint checking account with AMerican express, i USED to received notifications in my email/push notifications on the app on my phone/ texts notifications of whats going on with my account, as far as money going in and out, deposits, etc. whateverAND THEN OUT OF NOWHERE..i stop receiving them, nothing, i dont know whats going on with my account UNLESS i log in and checkthis is annoying, they got rid of the notificationsi called them and asked them why they got rid of them, someone OPENLY ADMITTED that American express cares more about marketing emails, they dont care about sending notifications to their customers about their bank accounts, there is literally no option for itI opened a ticket for it, and the tech team replied saying they removed it and dont have it right now and NOTHING ELSESo its basically a wasted effort on my end and nothing is being done about itanother thing I noticed is that the American representatives I talk to are VERY CHILDISH, RUDE, IMMATURE, AND TRY TO MAKE YOU FEEL DUMB, where as the filipino/Indian representatives are much nicer and better to work with, i really dont know why that is.this is extremely frustrating, to know that i used to get all these notifications for what the f is going on with my account, to then have ZERO notifications just because they decided to get rid of them and are doing NOTHING about it. this is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!
Amex is such a poor company. Leaving me stranded in Italy with my 6 year old daughter at the airport. Two cards that don't work, an old technical system that needs days of processing and customer service with zero human interest. I canceled both my personal and business cards after this. Not only this experience, but through the years the monthly contact requests from their side, phone calls, sending paperwork. So done with this company.

Despite this, I have not been reimbursed the points used for the transaction, Upon contacting customer service, I was informed that once points are used, they cannot be reimbursed, which leaves me at a significant loss without receiving the product.I feel that this situation does not align with the excellent service I have experienced with American Express over the years.
I opened a high yield savings account with a fixed rate of 4.25%. It hasn't even been a year and they have dropped my rate several times...currently the rate is 3.80, just dropped again this week. Do they know the meaning of fixed rate? Looking to change banks!
Customer for 20+ years and have had platinum cash back card twice which was great. I have a Nectar Card which works well but wanted a Platinum cash back again and applied 5 years ago and was rejected for no reason. My earnings are higher now and customer service didn’t care and didn’t want to help. I applied at least 9 times the last 5 years and each time customer service didn’t help. Will most likely cancel my nectar card and go elsewhere.
I have with american express $ 18,000 available credit and still they expect me to pay $16,900 as a minimum payment . This is insane after the first month of use! Such a deception. I had amex for 9 years even though its a new gold amex card and they always allowed me to pay one or two percent. When i made the purchase- I knew I can afford one or two percent and now they charge me 90 percent of my balance
