I've been to Tokyo Narita many times. The staff are welcoming to passengers shopping at the airport. It's clean, beautiful, and has lots of greenery. On July 23, 2025, my flight NH6 with ANA Airlines was delayed by 50 minutes due to traffic congestion at LAX. My mother and I went shopping, and usually, when it's time to board, a staff member comes to find us. My mother and I will be transiting through there many more times. I've transited through Tokyo Narita many times; the staff are welcoming to passengers shopping at the airport. It's clean and beautiful with lots of greenery. On July 23, 2025, flight NH6 of ANA Airlines was delayed by 50 minutes due to traffic conditions at Los Angeles International Airport. My mother and I went shopping, and when it was time to board, a staff member came to find us. My mother and I will be transiting through there many more times.

Frustrating Experience with Upgrades

I travel extensively for work, flying 26 weeks a year on over 50 flights. Most airlines are fair when it comes to upgrade payments, but this airline is an exception. Their bidding system is ineffective, even at the highest bid. The website restricts upgrade payments to mileage only and directs you to the counter on the day of the flight for purchasing upgrades. Typically, these upgrades cost around $675 from economy to premium. This week, at the airport, I was quoted $4000 for an upgrade that my max bid couldn't reach. The agents claimed it was a premium charge because I waited until the day of my flight, but their system essentially forced me to do so. It feels greedy and outdated. Another airline is significantly better.

Disappointing airline experience.

Disappointing airline experience. In 2018, my spouse and I traveled to London from Sydney, business class via Ho Chi Minh with another airline. The service we received was far superior compared to our recent experience with this airline. With the first airline, we were guided through the airport, taken to our hotel by shuttle, and provided with dinner, all organized by them. Recently, we flew Business Class to Seattle from Sydney via Tokyo, and it was a completely different story. The previous airline got us to London and back from Paris for under $9000 AUD, including layover hotels and meals. This airline charged us $15,500 AUD, and offered no hotel accommodations during the lengthy layover, leaving us to manage on our own. On the flight, the aircraft had minimal storage, cramped seating, and the cabin temperature was uncomfortably high. There were no individual vents, leaving us with no control over the climate. Thankfully, I had shorts in my carry-on and spent most of the flight trying to cool down with the safety card. While the food was decent and the in-flight entertainment was satisfactory, the controller for the entertainment system barely functioned on the Tokyo to Sydney leg. I will not choose this airline again.

Disappointing experience before even flying

I haven't even taken a flight yet, and I feel compelled to give a 1-star review. Even the most budget-friendly airlines have more reliable systems than this disappointing service. The website is barely functional and seems outdated by two decades. I attempted to reserve seats and was willing to pay, but the process simply doesn't work. Customer support is nonexistent; there's an email and a chatbot, but neither can assist with bookings at all. The only option for support is to call an international number. EDIT: I filed a complaint, and it takes two weeks for a response. There is a complete lack of customer service here.

Steer clear of this airline.

I haven't even flown with this airline yet, and I feel compelled to give them a 1-star review. Even budget airlines have more functional systems than this one. Their website is outdated and barely operational. I attempted to pay for a seat reservation, but it simply didn't work. Customer support is virtually nonexistent; there's only an email and a chatbot, neither of which can assist with bookings. The only option for support is to call an international number. After submitting a complaint, I learned it takes two weeks to get a response. The lack of customer service is appalling.

A frustrating experience with this airline.

A frustrating experience with this airline. Just before our departure, we were informed of a maintenance issue, and after four hours, received conflicting information. There were no alternatives offered, and communication was lacking regarding our travel plans. This was my first holiday where I had saved up for weeks, only to encounter such issues. It's truly disappointing.

Challenging user experience. The website is incredibly difficult to navigate, making it hard to book flights, check mileage, or even log in. I understand there may be cultural differences, but to have international coverage, it's important to prioritize user experience globally. It’s quite frustrating.

Mixed experience with the airline.

My spouse visited me here, and he was scheduled to fly back on October 13, 2025. We arrived at the airport just before noon, but the staff refused to check him in due to a name mismatch on the itinerary. After contacting the booking agent, they were instructed to make corrections, but the updates were not reflected in the airline's system. After an hour of confusion and no assistance, we spoke to a supervisor who was unhelpful. Thankfully, my spouse eventually made it on the flight, but the experience was frustrating and poorly handled.

Extremely disappointing service.

Extremely disappointing service. I booked a multi-leg flight and needed to modify one leg. They confirmed the change and charged me $50, but two weeks later, the modification was canceled without my request. After hours of calls and being transferred multiple times, I found that not only was my modification canceled, but the entire flight was also canceled without my consent. The lack of accountability and the poor treatment from the staff was shocking, especially given my urgent circumstances. I had previously flown with them without issues, but this experience has changed my perspective entirely.

In contrast, our recent business class flight to Seattle with this airline was vastly different. The other airline managed to get us to London and back for under $9000 AUD, including layover hotels and meals, while this airline charged us $15,500 AUD with no such amenities. The flight experience was uncomfortable with limited storage space, narrow seats, and an unmanageable cabin temperature. I had to resort to wearing shorts and fanning myself during the flight. The food was acceptable, and while the in-flight entertainment was decent, the remote was faulty. I will not choose this airline again.
