We took our 13 year old cat to the Ellesmere Port branch after she spent the previous day not eating , drinking and motionless, sat under our bed. The previous day she was fine, just her usual self and full of mischief and love. The vet who examined her said that she had an underlying condition and held no hope for her, she was dehydrated and in pain when he pressed around her waist. He told us that we should put her to sleep. After asking if he was sure he told us that they, the surgery, could keep her for 48 hours, monitor her do some blood tests and give her intravenous fluids, but it would cost £800. He also said that if there was no hope that she was going to improve they would let us know and we would be refunded £200 for a 24 hour care package. We left her there and drove home, Less than 5 miles, 10 minutes travel time. By the time I'd taken my coat and shoes off and just filled the kettle we had a phone call telling us that she wasn't going to pull through. We went back and took her lifeless little body with us. I can't see how maybe 25 minutes in total could possibly cost £600 and I don't believe bloods could have been analysed in the time that we left and the time we had the phone call to come back. It has put me off from having any pets in the future. "Trust" is not the right word for the practice, it's a play on words giving the impression that they care, but really they just like coining it.
PLEASE DO NOT RELY ON THESE GUYS IN AN EMERGENCY. THEY REFUSED TO SEE MY GERMAN SHEPHERD WHEN WE CALLED OUT OF HOURS FOR HELP. IT WAS LITERALLY A MATTER OF LIFE & DEATH, FOLLOWING A TRAGIC ACCIDENT & THEY JUST PASSED THE BUCK. ABSOLUTELY UNFORGIVABLE
Dear Animal Trust Team,I’m writing to express my disappointment with the cost quoted for spaying my dog, which was £300. While I understand that veterinary care involves costs, describing this as “affordable” feels out of touch with the financial realities many pet owners face, particularly those of us on low incomes or benefits. For many of us, a figure closer to £100 would be much more reasonable and genuinely affordable. It’s frustrating to see such essential procedures priced in a way that puts them out of reach for the very people who rely on services like yours for accessible care. It feels as though the financial burden is being placed on pet owners unfairly, and it comes across as prioritizing profit over animal welfare.I chose Animal Trust because of your reputation for offering affordable, non-profit care. However, this experience has left me feeling that the organization is out of touch with the struggles of those it aims to help. I sincerely hope you’ll reconsider your pricing structure to reflect the financial limitations of your clients, particularly those on benefits.Thank you for taking the time to read my concerns, and I hope my feedback can help lead to changes that benefit both pets and their owners in the future.Kind regards,
My little dog Bella was diagnosed diabetic just after Christmas, we were devastated. Becky and Alice have supported us and Bella through this stressful time. Prices are reasonable and we knew that if we hadn’t changed to Amimal Trust from our previous vet, we would never have been able to afford to pay for her treatment. We are so grateful that we have a chance to save this wee dog who means the world to us ❤️ Les and Janet Leland
Best place ever the eye surgery they did on my dog was beyond perfect changed his life for the better all these idiots on here giving bad reviews are people who will never be happy with anything or anyone let's get it straight staff are brilliant and very skilled highly trained with lots of experience and the prices they charge are very cheap nevermind competitive my operation cost £510 the other vets wanted £1600 and another wanted £2400 and even if I'd payed the £2400 i wouldn't of got a better job this Is the best place for quality veterinary care end of with prices you won't get anywhere can't praise them enough people giving bad reviews are delusional fools
We moved to this practice having been at another local practice. Whilst the aesthetics of the building aren't to the same level as other practices, I believe this helps to keep the costs down for the customers but there is no reduction in the level of care and attention that the team give. The vets are skilled, caring and attentive. I'd like to give a shout out to Luke on the reception, who is such as asset to the team. He is so friendly, calm and extremely helpful. The availability of appointments is very good when you need them and whilst we have had to wait on occasion where they are running late, we understand that happens everywhere and we'd rather that than another customer be rushed. We are there quite often (at least monthly due to ongoing medical needs of one of our dogs) and are very happy with the service that we and our precious dogs receive and have recommended the practice to lots of people.
Pretty poor service. I took my cat in to be vaccinated at the Shrewsbury branch. My appointment was 9.30am. I was still in the waiting room at 10.10am. In the end I had to leave my cat there as I had to go to work. Went back at 3.30pm and was kept waiting again until 4.15pm for them to fetch her for me. Then I was told they couldn’t vaccinate or chip her because she was too hyper and wouldn’t let them. I was charged £40 for flea treatment and 1 wormer tablet and told I’d need to do it myself at home because she was too restless for them to do it. Will never use this practice again. A total waste of my time and money.
We had to book an emergency weekend an and e appt for our very poorly little boy. Sadly, we lost him due to insurmountable issues. He was so incredibly special to our family and the vet dealing with putting him to sleep was so absolutely lovely and understanding. She gave us lots of time to say goodbye to George before and after and explained the process to allay any fears. We are heartbroken but thankful for the chance to love him one last time.
I have 6 rescue dogs. Animal Trust have been wonderful with all of them. Currently one is being treated fir Cushings disease and another for ulcers in both eyes. We are at the surgery most weeks as these dogs get older & cannot fault the care they receive. Without Animal Trust we would not have been able to afford to adopt these dogs and are so grateful that we found them Thank you
