My 9 month dog was taken in here in 48hr care due to high temperature. I was told at 6pm that he was fine and temp was coming down. At 10pm they phone to say he had died and chocked on sick which caused a heart attack. ??I’m now requesting an FOI to be completed. How can you get two different diagnosis from two vets. This maybe could have been prevented with better watch care from night staff.
Had a terrible experience with this vet in Dewsbury. We were dealing with issues with insurance and struggling to understand and rectify the problem, but the woman working on reception was incredibly rude, unhelpful and unprofessional. She refused to even attempt to check records to fix the issue (and we have been visiting this vet for many years and would have a long history of payment and insurance to vouch for us) and the conversation devolved into frustration. Our dog ended up not receiving the treatment he required and the experience was so sour that I am considering transferring to another vet so as to avoid this unpleasant person in the future. Awful customer service.
Took our very unwell dog Teddy to Dewsbury , vet was lovely, Teddy needed admitting so we made a dash across to Bolton. From start to finish I cannot fault the care Teddy was given. We were constantly updated on his condition. Unfortunately on day 4 we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let Teddy go. We were given all the time we wanted to say goodbye. The vet (lady with Irish accent) was so kind and caring with both ourselves and Teddy. I can’t thank all the staff enough for the care Teddy was given. I will definitely continue to take our other dog to animal trust. RIP Teddy Bear we will miss you forever 🐾🌈🐾
had to rush my dog in to bolton branch for an emergency used the Blackburn branch over the last year was diagnosed with epilersy which in fact turned out to be a brain tumour had to have my dog pts and was sold medicine that was useless for him if you value your pets live avoid this place
We have been going to Shrewsbury Animal Trust for a couple of years now, my Rottie girl has had both cruciate ligament done by Ed, he was brilliant.Recently had to take her to vet out of hours as come over very ill, turned out was Hemoragic Gastro Enterritis, really quite horrible but she was treated immediately and luckily recovered well.I have nothing but admiration for everyone at Animal Trust Shrewsbury.
Bolton branch- AVOIDAbsolutely heart broken writing this. We normally took my boy whiskey to the Blackburn branch but we had to use Bolton for an emergency as my boy was seizing. For some context, he started with a limp, was given anti inflammatories and antibiotics to see if it works. 24 hours later he had a stroke. Was told it was nerve problems. Saw another vet who said brain tumour. They gave us gabapentin on top of the other two meds. They said he needed a ct scan at the cost of over £1,000! Less than two weeks later he had a check up and was told there was no change and we wasn’t at that stage yet of putting him to sleep. Less than 24 hours later our boy was seizing. 4 times In one hour so we rang to make the emergency appointing and the first thing they said was £79 emergency fee. I said fine whatever. Arrives at the Bolton branch and we are waiting outside for them toOpen the door and then we saw a male vet. Looked Italian or something. Didn’t catch his name. We stated we didn’t have much money as we didn’t get paid til Saturday and we went on Thursday morning at 12.05am. He was telling us he needed to stay for two nights at £700. Then said he needed blood works, anti epilepsy meds and something else for £222. I’d already stated we didn’t have this money to hand right now but he didn’t care. He then said the anti epilepsy wouldn’t work due the “brain tumour” as he air quoted. Why offer it then!!!!!! My poor boy was suffering so we made the devastating decision to put him to sleep and the vet made us feel awful. No empathy, he seemed angry, we had 10 minutes with our boy and kept rushing us. We couldn’t have his ashes because they demanded payment there and then so we had to pay for the standard cremation but we didn’t get to have our boys ashes back no nothing. When we got to the desk, I was in hysterics at losing my boy and the receptionist just cared about payment and had us standing there for about 20 minutes. Vile vets and I won’t let this drop. You can bet your a** I’ll be taking this higher than a stinking review on trust pilot. You should be closed down. Money grabbing, non caring bunch of ****
