I lost my dog tonight, my best friend for over 13 years. I have dealt with several vets over my dogs life and for dogs before. The way this practise dealt with my dog, my grief goes above and beyond. I cannot praise them enough for their professionalism and compassion for which i and my family are eternally grateful. ❤️
Just because they have good reviews doesn’t mean you ignore the negative ones because I made that mistake and nearly lost my kitten. They prey on the most vulnerable pet owners. My experience was rushed, cold and poorly managed with 0 consideration for the emotional state of owners. Long story short I was told my kitten was ‘blocked’ and that I needed to pay £700+ immediately for catheterisation and if that didn’t work an extra £1000+ for surgery. When I explained that this wasn’t financially possible and quite a drastic measure to consider given how small he is and how rushed the whole thing was… the response was blunt and shocking. I was told the best option was to put him down because I couldn’t afford and wouldn’t pay such an absurd amount of money which I refused. I was told medication had been administered, that it would wear off and that I should take him to the Dewsbury branch the next morning to be euthanised as he was apparently very sick - bare in mind this is a professional body giving me this advice 🤣 I took my kitten home and then straight to PDSA the next morning who were an absolute godsend. The vet there examined him and said he was not blocked at all, just severely dehydrated. She was even able to extract urine to confirm there was no blockage. With proper care and syringe feeding, my kitten went from ‘death’s door’ to running around within 48 hours. 4 vets at PDSA checked him over and were quite surprised at the response from both dewsbury and Barnsley Animals trust branches. The fact that euthanasia was suggested so casually when the diagnosis was wrong is horrifying. This could have ended very differently if I hadn’t questioned it, didn’t have common sense or acted out of emotion. I would strongly urge others to be cautious and seek a second opinion but most importantly TRUST YOUR GUT INSTINCTS AND TRUST YOUR PET. Watch youtube videos, check facebook groups and seek advice from anywhere. Do not think for one second they don’t care about money and they care for the pet because they don’t. She also told me prices of cremating my pet to top it off. Money robbing tramps🤣🤣🤣🤣
I had been with Animal Trust in Bolton for 15 years until I lost both of my beautiful dogs within 11 months of each other last year. The care that they had provided was nothing but caring giving dignity to them both. At the very end I was treated with the utmost understanding and empathy. I wasn't rushed to say goodbye, I was able to spend as much time that I needed. Two different vets looked after both Milly and Theo, with no difference from either one. They have had the best care throughout their life and was carried on until the end. Not only the vets themselves, but all the admin staff. All I can say to them all, is thank you from the bottom of my heart, helping me get through those very difficult times. I'm now just waiting for Theo's ashes.
We found Shrewsbury Animal Trust faultless when we attended on Boxing Day for the first time with our very old and poorly dog. We were seen straight away with both compassion and professionalism. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them going off our experience.
Been registered at the Rhyl branch with my cat "Tim" for a year, he's been back and forwards many times with some kind of skin allergy on his back legs but thankfully because of the no consultation fee it's kept the cost down. The reception staff and vets have been absolutely brilliant (with one vet in particular being fantastic but don't know her name unfortunately) these people REALLY care about the animals and not just about money...wish I could rate more than 5 stars, 5 just doesn't seem enough, so if you live in the Rhyl area I highly recommend them
Insurance refused to pay out for cancer surgery due to multiple admin errors in our dogs medical history, Animal Trust wanted us to foot the remainder of the bill for their admin negligence, even threatened us with bailiffs, it took 9 months of chatbots, calls, emails, letters and our threat of court before they backed down and cleared the bill, the stress of it all caused me Chronic Insomnia. Started in January, ended in Oct. Disgusting behaviour, certainly don't put pets before money or people.
