I took along post partum queen with two…

I took along post partum queen with two remaining kittens for a health check. I was immediately told one of the kittens has just passed away, the chances of the remaining kitten to survive was slim, they were fine during the car journey. I was told to spay my cat and order a imaging scan. I was told a placenta was left behind. She was spayed and guess what, no placenta. I was advised to sign of the kitten for nursing care. Best of all she had remaining ovarian tissue meaning she needed further surgery. I’m traumatised and I know those two kittens were well and my queen should have been left alone to nurse them. Please avoid, not even sure if the vet knows what she’s doing or if the animal trust is honest, I believe that they abuse the owners for financial gain. GO ELSEWHEREView less

Very expensive

Good for being able to book appointments but there are cheaper vets in the area. Seem to pay over the odds for medication. Eye drops that i can buy online without prescription for £6.29 they invoiced me £25 for. How is this not making a profit??? Iwas also told there woukd be no charge for a 2nd check up and when i came back for a 3rd visit they told me i should have paid for the 2nd visit. It cost £15 for them to put a drop of dye in my dogs eye and look at it. I can get 10 doses online for £12 so what exactly are they charging for if they dont charge for consultations?

Receptionists at Bolton

I am leaving this review about the Bolton practice. We had to have our beloved dog of 13 years put to sleep and I went with my daughter and son to say our last goodbyes. As you can imagine this was a very upsetting time for the 3 of us. The vet and the nurse showed a lot of empathy and were very professional. However, I cannot say the same for the receptionists. When we came out of the room to pay the bill we were left for a few minutes whilst the two receptionists finished their conversation, joking and laughing amongst themselves whilst they could see the 3 of us stood there crying. They showed no empathy whatsoever. In my opinion they should not be doing that job. People bring their beloved pets who are part of their family and the way those 2 receptionists made us feel on that heart wrenching day is not acceptable. The day I had to pick my dogs ashes up was just as bad, the receptionist abruptly asked for my pets name, which I gave her and yes I did continue to let her key in our dogs name. I then said I've come for her ashes! She then said, "oh sorry, I will go and get them for you". She passed the box to me and said bye. No, our condolences. I think some of the receptionists need some training in how to deal with grieving pet owners or show some empathy. Needless to say, I will not be returning. Belinda

AVOID! Greedy unprofessional vets

AVOID!! You only have to read the reviews to see how unprofessional and greedy these vets are. My experience with the Bolton branch happened in August 2020. My dog, a french bulldog had just given birth naturally to 7 healthy puppies and as a owner you hear so many horror stories but just to be cautious I contacted the vets after 3 days and was given an appointment at 1:30. I took my girl in and came across the most unprofessional, rude vet I’ve ever had to deal with. Straight away she said I wouldn’t have bred her. I didn’t bring her in to be told by anyone what I can or cannot do with my dog. The vet then checked her over and said she might still have the placenta inside her and was going to keep her in. She then said I’d have to feed her puppies. I could not believe what I was hearing as my girl was eating and acting otherwise ok. The vet said she would give me an update at 17:00, by 18:00 I called the vets. Still no update. By 20:00 the vet said that my girl had had her bloods taken and she was doing ok. Alert and no concerns. However, she then said they are going to keep her in overnight and take her for a scan in the morning. Hang on a minute! If my girl was high risk why in 8 hours have you just taken her bloods. You have charged me £365 to just take her bloods!! I refused and said I am on my way to collect her as my girl and pups would be pining for each other. I collected her at 21:00 and was refunded £180 but still I cannot get my head around the treatment we both received. I’m no professional in the veterinary world but surely you would only separate the dog from her young puppies if she was in need of emergency treatment? This was not the case and in my opinion all about greed!! As you can imagine I complained and even then they didn’t adhere to their complaints procedure and took nearly 6-7 weeks to respond and was told to look up the breed. You couldn’t make it up! My girl was absolutely fine post whelp and it just shows they got it wrong but would not take responsibility for it. I would never attend this practice again so avoid if you want the best for your pet, I’d seriously go elsewhere.

My cat was put down yesterday after…

My cat was put down yesterday after having a stroke on friday. I am deeply upset how my cat was treated. They had 3 attempts to insert an iv line into my cat without giving her any sedation first. I asked the vet if my cat was upset when they tried to insert the iv line i was just told she became naggy?. I was not asked if I wanted to go in the room when they tried to insert the iv line. I didn't think I was allowed so I did not ask. Then when the vet inserted the drug into my cats kidneys to put her to sleep it was not enough and the vet had to di it again. She then had to get a third injection which I then refused for her to give. My cat eventually passed away but j am deeply distraught and I am going to make a complaint.

FLEAS HELL this place is

FLEAS HELL this place is! My cat who’s 6 months a beautiful snow Bengal who’s never been allowed out and our home is clean! We went to Bolton branch and our cat came home full of fleas, poor little girl couldn’t even groom herself cause of the cone on her head, when I say she’s full of them she’s full of them. I rang the vets to tell them what’s happened and EMMA on reception purely did not give 2 crap and told me that’s a risk when you bring her to our practise although they didn’t tell me this when I first took her. She was literally monotoned and when I threatened to leave she asked for my address so she can take me off the system, so be it I’m finding a BETTER vets. They also call themselves NO PROFIT but they have hidden costs for e.g if your operation is in the morning and don’t pay in the morning and pay after 12pm you get charged 30% more. WTH???? AVOID AVOID AVOID they do NOT give a toss about your pets.

AVOID, NOT FOR PROFIT BUT NOT TRULY CARING EITHER…

This vets may be ok for routine things and minor complaints. But if you have a very unwell animal or something more complex DO NOT USE ANIMAL TRUST. I WENT TO BOLTON ONE.My extremely ill pet had no continuity. She never saw the same vet twice and often saw very inexperience staff not always vets. It was heartbraking, she needed the same vet to help properly understand what was going on and to avoid having to go over her history. I believed, as they claim, they were about whats best for the animal. WHEN I ASKED FOR THE SAME VET, THEY SAID THEY CAN'T DO THAT IT'S JUST THE KIND OF VETS THEY ARE, KNOWING she was desperately ill and deteriorating. I spent a lot of money for no diagnosis and a deteriorating animal. THEY DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO SEE IF THE VET WAS AVAILABLE.I TRIED TO GET HER REFERRED BUT THEY NEVER SENT THE REFERRAL DESPITE ME AND THE NEW VETS REQUESTING. so i went to another local vets who saw her but despite myself and this vets requesting her history was sent over urgently SEVERAL TIMES OVER A FEW DAYS animal trust DID NOT SEND IT, KNOWING HOW ILL SHE HAD BECOME and she had to be put to sleep without the history information getting to the new vets. I will never take another of my pets here and regret doing so because I was in financial difficulties. Getting through on the phone was ALWAYS at least half an hour on hold 'in a queue', and sometimes after this half hour wait would just cut off and I would have to start again. They didn't tell me about some of the charges that I understood were included in the massive costs that I had already paid. Weeks later I was told there were charges on my account that hadnt been paid, and I hadnt been made aware of them, and had to pay. This happened more than once. I never got a proper breakdown of what they had done either. Just a little receipt from the card machine. I asked for this but on the invoices there was very little information also so still don't know what I paid for fully. They claim their ethos to be all about what is best for the animal but honestly this is not how they behave. IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET I WOULD ADVISE YOU AVOID HERE UNLESS ROUTINE OR NOT COMPLEX.

Dewsbury branch

My little dog has just been in for his castration. Bev the receptionist was friendly and warm, she came outside and asked if I was waiting as I had been there for a long time whilst my partner was inside with Woody our dog. Reception is so busy but she still made the time. Thank you, your kindness is appreciated. Rachel the veterinary nurse was beyond helpful, she gave us some much needed advice and took the time to talk to us about Woodys procedure and also talked us through how we can work on his little anxieties. Brilliant service and our little dog was in such safe hands. Thank you and once again keep up the good work it makes such a difference to the customer experience . 5 star service.
