Bit of a problem here, there is no functioning customer toilet and so you might get caught short whilst waiting to see vet. They will direct you to go to Cheshire Oak shopping centre though where there are toilets if you don’t might getting back on the motorway. Otherwise it’s the hush outside. Poor customer care and facilities are
Animal Trust in Rhyl are excellent. Reception staff are extremy helpful and caring. Vets and Nurses are exemplary and take time to explain everything well. I've taken all my dogs there and receive the best treatment always. When one of my dogs died, the compassion they showed to us as a family was truly heartfelt, they even cried with us. I totally recommend Rhyl's Animal Trust.
We visited the Ashton brach often as a couple of my dogs are on long term medication, everyone at the practice from the receptionist, to the nurses to the vets etc are all amazing! What a fantastic team you have at Ashton, they really do go above and beyond in their care for the animals and the clients aswell! I wish all veterinary practices were like this one! :)

Animal trust BarnsleyLottie 8 years French bulldogShe became unwell Friday 11 October. My daughter took her to the Animal trust in Barnsley. They did blood tests and found she had an infection, they gave antibiotocs, but over the weekend she became worse, they made another appointment Monday 14th October. They did an ultra scan and found she had pymetra which is a life threatening illness which was poisoning her uterus, our dog couldnt walk and was really struggling in pain, she was sent home with an appointment for the following day. She stopped breathing at 1.30am Tuesday. We raised a complaint the following day but heard nothing no answers why she wasn't kept in and operated on that day. We haven't even had an apology. Heartbroken family. Lola 5 years French bulldogMy sons dog had a seizure, so he took her to the vets Animal trust, Barnsley. They did blood tests and confirmed she had epilepsy, the vet told my son to go back for medication Friday the 1st November, which he did and the receptionist was so rude telling him they didn't have the medication and he shouldn't have come until they had text him and he was sent home. The following day or beautiful lola had some more seizures and he had to find an emergency vet as they wasn't open. He took her to the vets that deal with animal trust called Abbeys. They were shocked how he'd been treated and gave Lola diazepan this stopped the seizures for the rest of the day, he checked on her throughout the night and the next morning at 6am she had a massive seizure and he wouldn't come out of it. We lost both our beloved dogs in 2.5 weeks of each other, this heartbroken our family and we are all devaststed. These were two illnesses that could have been treated to give our beautiful dogs a longer life. We feel they're has been neglect from the practice and don't want this to happen to someone else. We want answers and will be taking it further to Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons
Very poor service from the staff on reception more concerned about chatting to each other rather than dealing with there customers that pay their wage, got my pets medication flea & worming wrong , found them to be very unpleasant and unprofessional on the telephone when i phoned up.
On going problems with our French Bulldogs. One always scratching ears, Animal Trust tried charging us £99 for 30 tablets, feeling a bit suspicious. I went online and found the exact tablets, which were £178.00 for a 100. Quick calculation for the same amount (100) from Animal Trust would set me back £311.78. Same dog had blister on side of pad, Animal Trust charged us £70.00 for antibiotics, almost 3 months on blister is still present. Animal Trust tried charging us another £100.00 for technically human allergy tablets which we can get from Boots for £2.79. Second Dog had a problem with breathing from birth, took dog for consultation. Advised by vet he had pneumonia so put onto antibiotics at £56.00, took dog to another two vets and on both occasions was advised he never had pneumonia and he requires a op to open up his airways in his nose. I was on the impression that Animal Trust were professionals and none-profit organisation. Sadly with their diagnosis and overcharging I sadly just believe or trust them ever again. I advise getting a second opinion.
I've taken 3 of my pets to the Barnsley Branch. So unprofessional. The girls on reception chat and finish their personal conversations before attending to you. On one occasion the receptionist I was speaking with, turned away from me to speak to someone she knew that had just walked through the door. Ankthernkcassion I was sat waiting with my dog to see the vet for 40 minutes. I went to the reception to see what was happening to be told I was the next in....even though the vet had no-one in for 40 minutes. The vet eventually came out and told me I'd not signed in..when I had. She rushed through his check amd treatment planned sent us on our way. The 3rd occasion was when I took my collie cross in due to a skin irrational from a flea bite. The foreign vet couldn't have been ruder to me. She barely spoke to me and directed her conversation to my dog...whilst talking about me....saying things like how his owners didn't listen and that they were overfeeding him and giving him treats and that he needed to lose weight'. I asked what weight my.sog should be and she just shrugged her shoulders and said she didn't know. Such a rude cow. Also, I need to let people know that when they say they don't charge a consult fee..well they hide that within the cost of the meds. I were charged £25 just for them to write a script out for me. I won't ever go there again. Abbey Vets gets a lot of stick...bit I took one kfmour boys there on Sunday, and they couldn't do enough for us. The reception team at Dodworth Road in Barnsley were amazing. The vet Stephen was so in tune with what our boy needed and spoke to us with consideration and respect.
Supposed to be “Not for profit” Will not be going back!Had to use this surgery recently due to my ill health undergoing chemotherapy I have had a lot of time off work. I didn’t go to my usual vet as I was pointed in the direction of this “non profit” and saving as much as I can is vital right now.Very dissatisfied, after booking an appointment to have my dogs anal glands checked because she had been licking her bum an awful lot, I was told she would need to have blood and urine tests. Also given an anti inflammatory medication, I was charged £119 which I paid on leaving.I had to take the urine test back the same day, whilst doing so I mentioned they never checked her glands (the reason I booked the appointment) they apologised and asked me to wait a few minutes. They checked them and said all is fine, she has no issues. I would get test results later on. I left and indeed a couple hours later I had the results back that everything is normal.I then get abrupt emails about an unpaid bill. Very rude and intimidating, apparently they undercharged me for the check up that they forgot to undertake themselves, I was being intimidated and chased for £27.50. Email wording-“We must advise you that failure to pay within the next 7 days, will result in further debt collection activity and possible referral to a debt collection agency who will collect your debt on our behalf.Once the account is passed to a debt collection agency this will result with interest and Late Payment Fees as per our Terms being added to the account of 25% commission on the amount due.”So they don’t do the procedure that we booked for, they convince you that other tests are needed, given Medication which it turned out we did not need, and then add additional charges after you leave. The medication they charged us £30.55 this same medication is available on Amazon for just £3.69!!I since went to my previous vet, they said medications always cost more direct with the vet but they charge £10.99. When they looked at the invoice if I had of gone with them would have been £10 cheaper than this apparent “non profit”. Although they also said there was no real need to jump to blood tests just because she had been licking her bum a lot. They say “free consultations” it’s clearly not they just hide it in other costs and persuade you to have unnecessary tests and medications.Definitely do not recommend.
