Faulty Ariston VLS Evo 80

We purchased the Ariston VLS Evo 80 version of electric heater whilst we were building a garden room. Due to delays in the build the water heater didn’t get installed until later on in the year. Once installed we had lovely warm water, enough to supply a small bathroom with shower and a kitchenette. This boiler worked brilliantly for around 9/10months before we experienced a fault. The boiler all of a sudden kept tripping the electric consumer unit. With multiple tests carried out by an electrician we managed to pin point the problem to the boiler. Every time it tried to boot up it would trip meaning that we can’t even turn the boiler on. Having contacted our supplier and being passed onto Ariston we were advised that if we hadn’t register the device we would not be entitled to the 5 year warranty and because it was purchased more than a year ago we also sat outside the standard 1 year warranty. I don’t even remember seeing a warranty set up guide with the boiler pack. Ariston have not really made much effort to help or direct us into fixing the problem and therefore we are stuck without hot water. It seems it would be cheaper to replace the unit rather than fix it meaning we have an awful waste issue. It’s a lot of boiler to throw out after 10 months of use and completely unsustainable. I like the design and how compact the boiler is however I do not appreciate the “throw away” mentality I now seem to be facing. Stay away if you need long term product efficiency and customer service.

Excellent response to my problem,your…

Excellent response to my problem,your engineer was on site as requested and diagnosed the problem very quickly. The faulty part was ordered and fitted within 3 days and although I was out of the country during the second visit to fit the spare part my son was at home and your engineer fitted the part and from the current info from my son, the boiler is now up and running OK.I thank you for your prompt response in this matter and will be back home on 21/11/2024 and look forward to further trouble free boiler problems.Regards,Jim Rennie

Telephone communications were excellent…

Telephone communications were excellent and service visit was as stated. The engineer did arrive rather late but stayed until the problem was resolved. After 3 hours he conceded that there was another issue and was unable to fix new fault.return visit fixed the issue and we now have heati!Many thanks.
