I put my house on the market for over a year with a local agent I had one viewing. I reviewed the various offers I had received offering to sell on my behalf after studying the I decided on British Homebuyers a decision I have never regretted.From the beginning and first contact with Eloise Hopegrave who started the ball rolling I was given a personal contact in Alex Clendon.I was given advise guidance by Alex which was invaluable and within 2 months (including the Xmas period) I had 2 positive fully vetted viewers and within days had a firm acceptable offer.Then came the legal aspect of selling I was allocated my own lawyer in Kay-Lee Flower who was so efficient and a tower of strength to me the process ran smoothly.In the later stages of the sale there minor issues which with her help were quickly resolved.Having reaching the point of an agreed completion date a delay occured from the lower chain.Into the breach step British Homebuyers associate Charles Gale who saw me e through some difficult moments with his professional attitude and unrelenting support.The sale completed and I am now able to move on but I would not have been able to retain my sanity without such a great team behind me helping me all the way so grateful thanks to all at British Homebuyers and Premier Property Lawyers.What a Team.Harry Cox
Well what can I say ... Excellent Service, helpful and Professional from British Homebuyers and my agent Robert Love. Highly recommend them to anyone buying or selling a property. They treated me as a person not just a number in a queue like other Estate Agents
We had our home on the market for over 6 months with two different local agents with no joy and were eventually told that we'd have to reduce the price by over £35k (15%) to sell it. We weren’t prepared to do that so decided to take it off the market at the end of the term with the agents as it clearly just wasn't our time. Then our dream home became available and decided to give it one more push - we opted for British Home Sellers as we needed a quick sale and preferably cash buyers. It took about 10 weeks but they found us the perfect buyers for our home at a selling price we were happy with. We wish we’d gone to them sooner!!Their fees on sale & completion were higher than the local agents, but lower fees are meaningless if they can't find us a genuine buyer. We were certainly better off with the higher fees and a good price for the house rather than having to knock 15% off just to get some interest from the local agents!The customer care from British Home Sellers was also excellent, which couldn't be said for the local agents by comparison. I sound very ‘anti’ our local agents but I would always try and keep business local where possible, hence trying two of them first. The simple fact is that BHS were far more pro-active and up to the job.We had Robert Love as our point of contact and we were very impressed with his professionalism, pro-active approach and the fact that every phone call, email and query was picked up and responded to immediately. Alex also stepped in for a couple of days when Robert was off and his communication was equally prompt, courteous and professional. Something that sadly seems to be lacking in many companies. Considering that BHS are an online business I certainly didn't feel they were 'faceless' at all and would highly recommend them. Although I feel we now have our forever home, if we WERE to ever consider moving again I wouldn't hesitate to use them.
I approached British Homebuyers after an initial property transaction previously. Throughout the process the team at British Homebuyers provided a professional, knowledgeable and trustworthy service. A massive recognition to Alex Clendon who managed to juggle the viewing appraisals and negotiated and managed our sale, facilitating every detail in a professional and courteous manner - always offering transparent feedback. Would recommend to anyone enlisting a more bespoke approach.
British Home Buyers may be able to help you buy a home but when they tell you that they have a huge 'black book of investors' that will buy your home, it's certainly not something we witnessed to be true at all. They were unable to generate any interest in our property. There is absolutely no evidence for this 'database of investors,' that they claimed to have, they don't even advertise your property to their internal marketing database as a rental opportunity, they don't use the rental value or any of the information they ask you for at the outset. All they do is write the ad and put it on Rightmove just like everyone else. Once you are working with them they tell you the exact opposite of what they told you to get you to sign up. Ie, before sign up - investors are crying out for 1 bed flats in central London. After sign up: 1 bed flats are not selling in London, people want 2 beds. We also worked with an agent who was at first on holiday, then 'on his own in the office' then 'sick' which meant he couldn't do very basic things like follow up with our only viewing within a 24 hour period. I asked for an example of a marketing e-shot and it took 4 days and 3 chasers to see it. Unfortunately it was disappointing anyway, no USPs, no rental value, just fluff about it being 'comfy and stylish.' The one viewing we had was not an investor, it was a normal buyer who didn't want it. We came to BHB because we have really tried to sell this flat for years but with interest rates the way they are, and with the aftermath of COVID, we couldn't budge it to the strained first time buyer market. BHB told has they had a different type of buyer, that they sell 90% of properties within 6 weeks. We really feel our property is a great investment opportunity for a landlord so we were full of hope. This pool of investors they tout is unprovable and feels untrue, we didn't get any interest whatsoever and our property was not overvalued. It just feels unlikely that they have investors on their books, or at least as many as they claimed to have. One good thing I can mention which brings this review to a 2 star rather than a 1 is that when they saw we were unhappy and had had no movement after 6 weeks they let us out of the contract and allowed us to keep the photos they'd taken, which they didn't have to do and we did appreciate that.
Dealth with Robert and Charles - they were both fantastic. From start to finish they were extremely helpful and informative. Had issues with the soliciotr we were using, they liased with our buyers and manage to sort all the problems we were having. They are very professional and I would not hesitate to reccommend them.
