I've been using Bruce for nearly 4 years now and it is extremely useful and I recommend it to everyone who wants to go regularly to the gym or try new things. Some places will be booked very quickly but others, not so much. It really depends on what you want to do. I am sad the partnership with Friskis & Svettis is ending and I wish there were ways to find places with a hot tub option, but overall it's really worth it and being able to buy a year long card is helpful to save a bit. I do wish that some of the spa places wouldn't use it as an advertising and discourage people from booking on the app and instead require you to contact them privately. It doesn't seem fair to Bruce.The only thing that could be improved app wise for me is similar to how Google Maps offers you a time when it is most busy, it would also be great to have that especially for the STC locations. Or a way to contact the gym directly through the app if there is something broken or wrong. Or also a way to report a location because one gym I went to said it had open hours and it was not open when I went there.
I have been member (black) for almost 1 year, and since then the price plan has been updated twice. Many studios decreased number of visits (from 8 to 4). What I found extremely annoying is that you can cancel a booked class latest 12 hours before it starts otherwise you will be charged for no show (140 sek) - if it would be 4 hours, I could understand, but 12 hours is super strict policy. I don't recommend Bruce, I think the service is not worthy for how they deal with their members.
was recommended to try Bruce Studios and received a link for a free 14-day trial in Copenhagen. I followed the link and completed the registration process. However, after authenticating with DK MitID, I only received the message:"Intet produkt er blevet tilføjet til kassen. Se vores medlemskaber og credits."I tried registering twice and experienced the same issue both times. As a result, I was not able to activate the trial period or even test how the platform works.Unfortunately, this was a waste of time. A free trial should be simple and welcoming, but the process failed at the very first step.
I just registered for a year knowing the studios on it. But bad surprise since beginning of the year a lot of options or studios are either withdrawing advantages we had or have not renewed their contract. I feel the platform is too expensive for the options it has, and felt a bit fooled from registration to reality. Either the studios you like disappear, or you have to go around the city or you have very few availabilities.
I am very happy with Bruce Black so far. Very grateful that I can visits studios near my home as well as office. And it’s also fun to explore new. However, I was really upset with the limit of 20 classes. Now I always think okay, what if I do more, then I will have to wait at the end of the month and not work out. It’s a bit frustrating. I understand that unlimited is maybe a bit more realistic, but making it 25 or 30 would feel so much better. Thank you!
I love that there are so many (great!!) classes to choose between- always something to join no matter what time of the day.A wishlist would be to have 1. More open gyms in the city center of Stockholm and 2. Connected studios in other regions of Sweden when traveling during Holidays
Bruce promises flexibility and variety, but the reality is frustration and hidden expenses.Classes are constantly full unless you book far in advance, which completely defeats the purpose of a “flexible” membership. Also it is not possible to book enough in advance if you go work out often because how can you book for the next week if your booking slots are full with reservations for the current week. Popular studios and time slots are basically inaccessible, and waitlists rarely move. Value has decreased tremendously just within one year the pries soared and so did the limitations of bookings and possibilities.The app and booking system are unreliable, full of bugs and things often just fail or do not work. Cancellations are punitive and rules not transparent, and customer support is incredibly slow and unhelpful when something goes wrong. Pricing has crept up while value has gone down — fewer available classes, stricter punitive, customer unfriendly rules, and no real accountability. It almost feels like Bruce wants to prevent people from exercising rather than help them or more like earn money without providing any delight or valuable service.Fire your product manager and get a grip. Good products are designed with the customer in mind not with inventing rules that punish, do not take real life into consideration and make you responsible for things that are out of your control (eg. canceling class until 5am because of 12 hour deadline is ridiculous, if I get sick overnight I sure am not gonna wake up at 4AM to make sure I cancel my classes) Great idea, poorly executed, and absolutely not worth the money.
