Cadent came out very quickly when we reported a potential gas leak, turned off the gas, clearly explained what the problem was and what our next steps were and provided us with a free hot plate to cook with while we waited for a repair. Great free service!
My experience with Cadent Gas has been deeply disappointing. Left without gas for an extended period, I've encountered nothing but empty promises and inaction.Cadent assured me they would send a carpenter to fix the issue "soon." Yet, no one has shown up, and there's been zero progress. I'm forced to constantly chase them for updates, only to receive more vague assurances.I filed a formal complaint, but this proved equally useless, solving nothing and further demonstrating the company's disregard for customer satisfaction.The lack of communication, transparency, and effective solutions from Cadent Gas is alarming. They seem content to leave customers without a basic necessity while providing no honest updates or timelines.I strongly caution potential customers: Cadent Gas makes promises they don't keep, leaves customers in limbo, and offers no effective means of addressing grievances. If you value reliability and responsive service, look elsewhere for your gas supply needs.
What an absolute joke of a firm. An absolute disgrace. They have ruined my front garden and passage way that we paid £11000 whilst moving a gas meter. They have left it dangerous and their offer of money to reinstate it is offensive. I would not trust their workmen to reinstate any of my garden as they are incompetent at their work.They have a trouble shooter who acts like he is helping but is there just to pacify the customer until there is nothing we can do about it. Do not let Cadent into your property.
Currently working outside my property, was told I’d have access in and out but now they have blocked it off meaning I can’t leave my home until they are finished. Massive holes in the footpath and equipment all over the place. What am I meant to do in an emergency? Only warned us the day before and didn’t tell us what work they were doing just that it will take several days! I’ve got kids too so how am I meant to get them to and from school!
Absolutely shocking experience!From digging on your property to fixing the metre nothing was done correctly!The workmen are rude and incompetent. They created caos and they seem to thrive on it .you make a complaint and they fob you off with different supposedly managers who contradict one another. Make promises to get back to you with solutions but never get back to you.
Do not let them work on your property. They do not know how reinstate to an adequate standard. After renewing new pipe in the pavement and to my property,which went well , they then proceeded to make a mess of my drive and property. None of the reinstatement team know what they are doing , from using sharp sand instead of compacted hardcore under a section of shingle drive to using 50 mm of concrete on the crossover to my block paved drive, which they have disturbed and covered in concrete as well as splashing concrete on my car when they were doing itThis has now obviously cracked , but after complaining to Tasha the liaison officer, who actually does nothing, I went onto the complaints team.Georgina was handling my complaint but phone call after phone call I was just palmed off every time. I was then told after inspection that the job was completed to highways standard. I asked when this inspection was done and after telling them I have a ring doorbell covering the whole of my drive they back tracked and obviously couldn’t give me a time and date. The workmanship,lack of respect to people’s property and lies this company palms you off with is disgraceful and looking at the other reviews I m not the only one feeling this way. I ve given up with this company and having to resolve at my own expense. Again DO NOT LET CADENT WORK ON YOUR PROPERTY
Cadent dug a one metre square hole slap in the middle of our tarmac drive over three weeks ago in order to fit new gas pipes and meters; ours was the main pipe that other houses branched off. We were promised both before and during the work that our expensive tarmac drive would be restored with workmanship guarantee within three days of our gas being restored. They threw some dirt back in and placed a temporary hole cover over the remaining hole. Our gas pipe and meter was fitted and our gas restored over two weeks ago. The workmen finished the work along our estate and left. We have been left with a big hole and a temporary cover, forgotten. We called Cadent last week to tell them they had left us with this half filled hole and missing tarmac and they promised to come and sort it out. On the website and their promo video they say they will fill the holes and restore all the surfaces within three days. So we've given them the extra three days since reminding them. I don't know where to go from here. Legal action? Contact the insurance company to recover the repair costs? We have kids, pets, a car, and a big hole in our tarmac drive. We shouldn't have to put right their damage from our own pockets and in fact we don't have the money to fix this ourselves. This is every reason people are resistant to Cadent digging holes in their driveways. They damage the property then leave.
Worst company that I have ever had to deal with. They were working in my road to replace gas pipes. Very poor communication, didn't stick to agreed timelines (went home early and turned up the next day expecting me to be in all day) and no gas for five days. Have never addressed my complaints adequately - still waiting for a formal apology from a senior manager. CEO needs to know what is really going on and they need to want to act on feedback. They are very defensive but the subcontractors get all the grief from the unhappy residents.
