Whilst working in the garden I noticed a slight smell of gas so I looked online and called Cadent to report the issue, lady on the phone took all the details and said an engineer would be with me within the hour, and true to word they were there in under 45 minutes.Engineer looked around the property with his tools and picked up a slight leak on our outside gas pipe as it goes into the house (before the stop valve) was advised they would need a team there same day to fix the issue and was guided through the steps they would take.Within an hour I had a team of Cadent engineers down securing the area with signs and marking out where the services run and talking me through the process where they are going to dig and the process of fixing the leak to reinstate my service, they guided me through each step advising where they would need to dig and the process of putting in the new pipe.The team worked hard throughout the day, friendly bunch of guys, polite, courteous, professional and informative, when in the house they used shoe covers and caused minimal disruption, they worked flat out from morning until late afternoon and fixed the issue the same day, as the engineers who finished their part left they would let me know what they done and say they are off and what was left to do that the other engineers were covering.I see on here there is alot of negative reviews and I guess that is largely down to who you get on the day, but the guys I had, I couldn't fault them they should be cadent example of excellent service.
I emailed Cadent "Customer Care" for clarification after receiving a letter that was ambiguous (to say the least).No reply so sent a reminder after 2 weeks.Another two weeks later and still no reply.I checked the email address I used with the one on their letter .. and, yes, they are the same.
I run a business from home and there work and incompetence has cost me a lot of money. They promised this and that and delivered nothing, except total mayhem and misery to the whole street. If your about to have work done by them, all i can say is prepare yourself for Hell.
After no joy with advice from Octopus Energy, I telephoned the gas help line. Cadent engineer came out with in 20 mins. A very polite young man who change a regulator tested it was the correct pressure and went on his way. A credit to your company. That simple. Good service isnt hard and Cadent provided just that. Did work changing gas pipes, left us unconnected for hours, when ringing up about smelling gas, the engineer had no respect for the property walking through on all carpets with dirty boots on basically tell us that we was like! Absolute scum bag why would we waste are time if we couldn’t smell it.
Cadent gas, instilation of new.gas supply pipes. No boards or support put down for heavy digging machinery, where my house is its clay, I've been here 20yrs never had a problem with rain water collecting, but since cadent have done work, my path outside my back gate & my yard floods with water they haven't upheld the ombudsman decision To reinstate GRASS VERGE, OR TILLTED REMAINING FLAGS Towards grass verge & away from gate,here we go automated response, already been there done that gone through ombudsman, & Cadent not done as requested although signing agreement letter, water now coming through stone under gate....I could do with the freepress coming & seeing & publishing in the paper...
This company has been installing new gas mains in our street for the last 2 weeks. On Friday 5th April they were finally able to connect me back to the new mains supply and the trouble starts. They connected us on Friday 5th April and then check our gas cooker and boiler they never checked the gas pressure or anything to do with the gas meter or the new piping they had just installed. The cooker worked fine but when they tried our boiler it would not fire up. The Cadent colleague that was testing it (I use the word testing lightly) informed me that there must be a problem with my boiler because the gas cooker works OK so the gas must be getting through. Now I am no gas engineer but even I could tell that not enough gas pressure was getting to my boiler but the Cadent engineer insisted that it was and the problem is with my boiler. After him being sure that the gas pressure was sufficient for my boiler I then had to call out my boiler cover company to come and check my boiler which cost me £95. After the engineer from my boiler company had been and checked the boiler on Saturday 6th April surprise, surprise there was nothing wrong with it and could not ignite because the gas pressure was not strong enough. He then thankfully spoke to Cadent on my behalf and educated them what the issue was. Cadent then had to revisit my property and dig up the two holes that had only just been filled to screw down the new connections which should have been done in the first place. So with over 24hrs without any hot water or heating and a bill of £95 and now to big holes to deal with one on my drive and one just outside my drive all due to the incompetence of Cadent you must agree why I have reason to complain.
I recently had a gas leak in my kitchen and reached out to Caden Gas for assistance. Shortly after, a friendly engineer named Jake Thorpe came to my house. He quickly identified and resolved the issue. I must say, I highly recommend their services as they were extremely helpful throughout the process.
