Cadent have been working in our street since the end of July, initially advised work would take 5 days they have only just left the street the first week of September!!Inconsiderate vans parked across driveways, no driver in sight when asked them to move advised the driver would be back in 30 minutes. They left the street mucky and filthy, glad to see the back of them.....avoid their services if possible.
I would like to thank Mr..Harold Carrion ftom.the customer care department for his great knowledge and wonderfully courteous manner. He put me st ease at once and kindly recommended the free priority service to pensioners to me. Also I sincerely thank the engineers who came when my carbon monoxide detector kept bleeping and gave great safety advice. Thank you all.Cadent staff are great. J. Alkawari
I was charged £848 even though we moved the meter nearer the road, my builder dug the trench and repaired after the gas was reconnected, no disruption to public pathway or road. I complained as i did not feel this was value for money but was told this was the max discount. To add insult... 3 weeks after the works was completed i received a Royal Mail card through my door to pay £8 for postage the sender hadn't covered, thinking it was a sample I had requested, i paid, only to get a box of chocs and a couple of small packs of biscuits from Cadent... ????? What a cheek!
I was found to have a leak from my gas meter, the young man who came out was really explanatory through every stage of the work so I understood what he was doing & why .The young man's name was David Darmon & he is excellent at his job.
Notified Cadent of a door to a gas installation which was broken. The installation was on a public footpath and adjacent to the village school. The broken door meant a child could easily slip through and posed a hazard. Cadent replied to my email swiftly, kept me updated, restricted access the very next day and have now fixed the door. Great customer service and excellent risk management.
Initially I thought cadent were good at communication - work started in my road on the day they said and the gas was back on when they said it would be. However….a hole in my driveway was dug and I wasn’t given any information on what would happen in terms of fixing it. The workers left the road on a Friday night and I still had a hole with barriers round making the driveway unusable. I emailed on the Tuesday after no sign of them returning to ask when they were coming back - was told someone would be in touch. Thursday I found someone in the hole who then disappeared after placing most of the bricks back in place - except one, which appeared to be missing. Friday I get an email saying they were glad to have been able to help me and had closed the enquiry. This left me with no idea why they closed it when work was outstanding, where my missing brick was or whether they were coming back. Now my driveway isn’t the nicest in the world but having only just moved into a property with a driveway it’s a real novelty for me, but the addition of bright orange barriers around a missing brick isn’t really adding to the novelty - particularly when I’m now parked on the road looking at my driveway with its new additions. I have removed some of the additional bits that cadent left - the half eaten bag of Doritos and empty bags on the ground, but left the rusty piece of pipe scattered outside the barriers as who am I to know whether Cadent want that or not. So now a complaint is in to Cadent in the hope I will get answers and not get my query just closed again. (Customer no 20120233)
Cadent workers digging up a cobbled alleyway to install a gas supply outside our business were very safety conscious, polite, helpful and respectful. Unlike other utility companies, they were exceptionally careful in their effort to preserve the Victorian cobbles and re-instate them after the work. They have completed the job in a timely manner and they did such a fantastic job of relaying the cobbles, the alleyway is more level and looks even better after the work was finished.
Whilst working in the garden I noticed a slight smell of gas so I looked online and called Cadent to report the issue, lady on the phone took all the details and said an engineer would be with me within the hour, and true to word they were there in under 45 minutes.Engineer looked around the property with his tools and picked up a slight leak on our outside gas pipe as it goes into the house (before the stop valve) was advised they would need a team there same day to fix the issue and was guided through the steps they would take.Within an hour I had a team of Cadent engineers down securing the area with signs and marking out where the services run and talking me through the process where they are going to dig and the process of fixing the leak to reinstate my service, they guided me through each step advising where they would need to dig and the process of putting in the new pipe. The team worked hard throughout the day, friendly bunch of guys, polite, courteous, professional and informative, when in the house they used shoe covers and caused minimal disruption, they worked flat out from morning until late afternoon and fixed the issue the same day, as the engineers who finished their part left they would let me know what they done and say they are off and what was left to do that the other engineers were covering.I see on here there is alot of negative reviews and I guess that is largely down to who you get on the day, but the guys I had, I couldn't fault them they should be cadent example of excellent service.
