Review Time
Zero customer service. Tried to exit the site in Riom.It read my card but failed to lift the barrier. Tried the phone numbers on the app but no one answered.After half an hour I gave up. Luckily a French camper helped me exit the site. Sent a complaint in by email, 3 days later got an email saying everything was working, which it clearly wasn’t.The site at Riom is well situated, but let down by the fine sticky gravel surface of the car park. It sticks to your shoes and gets walked into the camper. Completely the wrong material for a camping car park.

So disappointed with their marketing and customer service. We always use the app when away to find sites. Early Sept 2024, kept getting pop up stating if we stay at sites now we qualify for free nights which have to be taken before 31st March 2025. Email would be sent in Oct conforming the number of free nights. Well we never received email so I chased, got a lovely email stating we had 7 free nights to book abd take before 31st March. I had yo renew passport in jan and was not sure the timescales so left booking until passport returned. After reviewing sites, I contacted CC as soon as passport renewed. I was advised there was a limit of 100,000 free nights available and had been used up. Ie hard luck. My upset, the app never gave any indication there was a limit on the number of booking nor did the email I received confirming 7 free nights. CC do not want to know or even offer a comprise. We booked in good faith and feel CC misadvertised this offer. Will certainly not use as much this year.Very disappointed.

I do find these aires very useful, although it is a shame that they are taking over previously free sites in many towns and villages. However, you can find out in advance whether or not they have a free space, and book a space when necessary, and you know you can go in and out as often as you like during the course of your stay, and that there will always be services available, even in the depths of winter. Many are very basic, but others are a pleasure to stay in.

Don't expect much more than a parking spot (likely rammed up against other vans) and power if you're lucky. Sites vary hugely - only one I tried out of around a dozen had everything working. Many are in a poor state of repair. Worst aspect however is the non-existent customer support. Had a problem with a site and was basically told 'tough'. Fortunately my bank refunded the money but you only have to look at the other reviews here to see the consensus is the same. I'd be embarrassed to work for a company with such a low review score.
