We had noticed that the finish on the inside of our door frame, that had been installed 3 years ago, (factory done) had begun to bubble. I called Champion and they sent someone out in about 2 weeks. We had to wait from December 2021 to September 2022 to get that fixed. Then prior to them coming to do that the keyless entry lock on the same door quit working and I called to see if they could replace that when they came to fix the door frame since that is the main entrance door that we use. Apparently, they had not told the repair person about that, so he did not have one to replace it, but he ordered one. I was called in October and told that it was at the warehouse, and they set an install date for early November. The day of the install appointment the repairman called me and said that he didn't have the lock because it had not come in yet, but they would call as soon as it came in. Three weeks went by and I hadn't heard anything, so I called and left a message with no reply. In the meantime, I have called two more times with no replies. I finally left a FB message and got a quick response this past Monday. The person said they would reach out to the company to make sure they get with me. Not surprisingly, I have not received any type of phone call from them. I am beyond frustrated with their customer service.
Todd was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and very thorough in his explanation of everything. While it sounds like champion may have a great product even with the buy 2 get 1 free deal for the price I should be getting my entire house done with windows.
Martin my Champion rep answered every question I asked after extensive research and each answer was spot on! He made me feel at ease from the start and I enjoyed doing business with him. He represented Champion in a respectful way and I look forward to the installation of my top quality windows!
I purchased 3 windows and received a HORRIBLE installation job on 2 of them. The installer didn't have the materials needed with him to finish the job so luckily the 3rd wasn't done. He damaged the siding, didn't install them the way my other champion windows were installed. The second installer came out finished the 3rd window after much arguing installed it the way it was supposed to be. But would do nothing to correct the other 2. I still have holes and exposed siding. Just keep getting lip service from Customer Service.
Champion Windows & Home Exteriors installed a sunroom addition to the house I purchased recently. The sunroom is relatively new; however, with the big rain SC/NC received on 12/15 there was an obvious leak on the metal roof. That leaked approx 2-3 Gallons into my home.I called my realtor to see about a potential warranty and also looked at the permit documents sent over. I discovered the work was done by the above company, so I called. They said that the warranty is 15 years, but when purchased by someone else, the transferred warranty is only good for 1 year. They said someone would call in 48 hours to schedule, but there would be a $120 trip fee.Today, they called me back to schedule and started right off about the trip fee. I said, "No problem." They then said the previous owner of the home will need to call them and transfer the warranty. I asked if a closing disclosure, warranty deed, note, or any other binding legal document to prove my residency would work? They said they needed the owners to call.I explained that, with real estate, the buyer and seller do not communicate and asked if I really need to involve realtors when I have the legal documents necessary to prove this? I also mentioned that other providers, like Morris jenkins (HVAC) and the roofing company (non-sunroom) were fine with the closing docs and I didn't quite understand the need to inconvenience so many parties. Admittedly, my tone was that of "are you serious?" And perhaps not the best way to respond to the ridiculous and unnecessary red tape.My comment/tone aggravated the agent into retaliation and she explained... "Also, the previous owners had 30 days to transfer from time of sale and that since that time has expired there is no longer a valid warranty you can use."I ended the call after stating that I would not be paying the full price of repair to Champion if it cant be done right the first time.Knowing the metal roof has no space (room for water damage) that it should be a simple fix. I had some flex seal left over from another project, climed the roof, saw where their seal job was botched and fixed it myself. I'll get the proper sealant and handle again in the future... but more than anything, just letting.folks know my experience with this company so that you understand how they operate with their work and warranties compared to others. In the end, i saved $120 and learned what kind of company they are... so, not all is lost.Integrity and service are core values of mine... especially with my own clients. It is out there.... but this company lacks these core and fundamental values.
