Review Time
There are companies who stand by the warranties they promote when they sell you their product, and then, in my opinion, there are companies like Champion who use delay tactics to waste your time when you actually want their product to work like they claimed when they sold it to you. Here’s my story: We bought 10 windows from Champion a few years ago for an East-facing wall. Wind / rain out of the East is very rare here, but the first major one caused 10 out of 10 windows to leak into my living room. This is July 27th. Bubbles all under my paint full of water due to their faulty installation.Annoying but still under the warranty time period. I never expected them to cover the drywall / paint / insulation damage this caused, but I did expect them to fix their broken window installation. We call the next day (July 28th) and are told someone will get back to us. On August 3rd, we are told no one can come out til October 18th. Insane. 10 out of 10 windows are leaking.Their guy comes out and immediately says the windows were installed incorrectly. I have this on my security camera video. He said they did not pitch below the windows in a way the water would run away from the house. Rather it pooled and leaked into my house. This is Champion’s inspector! His phrase on my video is “installer mishap.” He said they would follow up with us. Remember it’s currently October 18th.No one called us back. We messaged them on November 4th and they finally called back on November 10th, with their employee saying it’s not considered “warranty work” and that they would want to charge us for fixing it and for the “trip charge” of the guy who came out previously.It’s clear to me they would rather not honor what their own employee said was their mistake, and honestly just hope I go away. How else to explain their delay from us calling on July 28th to the nonsense resolution call on November 11? I just want the windows I paid for to function correctly. I would like to hear from Champion with their plan to fix these windows. Instead of me chasing them down then waiting another month to hear back.If I don’t hear from Champion after this, I’m sending this message to our state’s Attorney General.
We had started looking for full house siding replacement earlier in the year and had 1 company give an estimate. When it came time to pull the trigger and actually get the siding replaced, I contacted 2 other companies who came out and took measurements but we never heard back from them. Champion was recommended by a friend so I contacted them. They were "johnny on the spot". They returned my call within a day and set a time to meet within a few days. I was not wanting to deal with a high pressure sales man and after reading that the appointments generally lasting about 1 1/2 hours I was ready to cut off the pressure play. When the Champion representative (Ron Hughes) arrived he was well kept in his appearance and was very cordial and helpful. I'm sure he could tell I was not interested in a high pressure salesman, and he rapidly put me at ease. As it turned out however, he was ready and happy to answer any questions that my wife or I had. After Mr. Hughes took measurements and explained the next steps we decided to go with Champion to preform our siding replacement. We are currently waiting for our installation to begin and have no issue with waiting. I am glad to know that Champion does so many siding installations that there is a waiting list. I would be hesitant to hire a company that would be able to start the job immediately.
My original review was July 26, 2023. The problems never cease. Next week it will be 11 months since I ordered my windows, doors etc. Still waiting on a window sash replacement and a sliding door that was installed damaged.I am constantly promised it’s been ordered. Always an excuse. I will hate to see if a window gets broken how long it takes them to repair. I live within 250 miles of the factory so it is not like they are shipping it a huge distance.Please…..avoid the horrible stress and hassle that they will put you through. I am almost 70 and I certainly do NOT NEED the absolute horrible problems this company creates. THIS IS THE BIGGEST WASTE OF $45,939 EVER! EVERY DEPARTMENT IN THIS COMPANY HAS LIED AND DONE NOTHING TO RECTIFY THIS MESS.Go back and read my first review July 26, 2023.If I can save even one person from buying into a mess I will.CHAMPION OWES ME FOR SUFFERING 11 MONTHS! Lies. Lies. Lies. Possible lawsuit, looking into it.DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!
I am so disappointed. This company did a bait and switch and I ended up cancelling the order because they wanted $2,000 more! One month into the project--- financing processed, windows measured and ordered, and just awaiting notice of installation date--- they called me to say that they made a mistake and they couldn't do project for the agreed upon, signed contract. At that point I saw lots of red flags and did some more research on company. I discovered a F RATING from Better Business Bureau. Needless to say, I saw this as a sign from God that I should NOT use this company!!!!!
