We were gifted a beautifully presented box of chocolates. You could see they were hand made, so on investigating the price tag wasn't surprised, as they were hugely expensive, and probably justifiably so, however, the flavours were beyond horrible. With eager anticipation I popped into my mouth a chocolate with a prune in the title, and well... it was the first of many ghastly flavours that almost had a savoury hue with overtones of cough lozenge. Thoroughly, thoroughly revolting. Even the oatmilk honeycomb was vile. If these had been the first chocolates I'd have ever tasted, it would have saved a lot of heartache on the scales, because I'm not sure I'd have ever eaten chocolate again. If I'd paid the eye-watering price tag, I'd be quite annoyed, however, they were gifted as an overorder from my friend's place of work. I hope they don't lose any customers because a CEO bit into the one that contained figs! I've given 2 stars because the packaging, presentation and the chocolates looked beautiful, but they should have a highly toxic label somewhere on the box, because you feel like you're being poisoned when you eat them. I must just have an unsophisticated palet.
Awesome chocolates.I work on a hospital ward and sampled these chocolates via a gift we'd recieved from a former patient. Upon first taste I was greatly impressed. I'm a dark chocolate lady all the way but appreciated the balance of flavours, nothing was too sweet or cloying. After that first trial I had craved them, I was heavily pregnant when I sampled them but alas due to affordability I had resisted. I even considered buying them as a 'push-present' reward!Instead I've now purchased the advent box for my other half and I to saviour this Christmas season over the quiet moments as new parents of a now 3 month old :) Unfortunately the seal on one of the advent chocolate boxes was broken, whilst the other box of the same product didn't have one which was my one quibble with the order for such an expensive product. Though I am glad to have the chocolates finally as a treat they truly are lush. Merry Christmas Chococo!
I ordered an advent calendar for my husband. I chased it by the 10th December and was informed that they’d received the order but failed to send it out. I received a refund and a “too bad” message. Poor service given the fact that I’ve been a customer for years
I ordered a delivery from Chococo for my daughter. The post had an issue, and the package was never delivered. According to notifications from Royal Mail, the package was returned to the sender. I emailed Chococo twice to ask how to remedy the issue and receive a refund. They have never responded. It has been two weeks since my first email. I am very disappointed. At the very least, I would expect that someone from customer service would get back to me to provide some sort of update.
We've been visiting Chococo Winchester for a number of years now, but this year there have been several miserable managers whose disinterested manner make the experience uncomfortable.Recently, personable, welcoming, assistants have been made redundant, fired, or simply left and the atmosphere, for us, is not the same.Management should be aware that there are very many more places in Winchester offering drinks and food.
I ordered a Cherry Bakewell brownie and was really looking forward to trying it, but there was hardly any sour cherry jam in it, I could hardly taste it. It's also nothing like a brownie, it's more like a torte. It's quite nice, but just tastes like a chocolate torte with a hint of almond flavour and for £16.50 it's expensive. I had a free delivery code so it would've cost over £20 if I'd had to pay delivery! I wanted to try the pecan and orange brownies too but not sure I will now.
I ordered the fresh large selection box with chocolate orange brownie, both arrived quite quickly in the post. The chocolates are ok, I wouldn't say they're out of this world. It's a bit annoying that they have a 25 selection box but it includes alcoholic chocolate which I hate. There is a non-alcoholic alternative but that's a much smaller box. The most disappointing thing was the chocolate orange brownie was far too soft, almost like it was underbaked! I prefer slightly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The orange pieces on top were very nice - mixed review :(
