Review Time
From frustration I am writing this review. From most things we can see a positive but my experience with Connollys Sligo was not customer friendly experience. We bought our first car from Connollys Sligo in 2012 and since then between myself and my husband we have bought 19 cars from them. You would think that after that amount of cars and time you would be treated as a customer not as just another money sign. In the time Connollys have changed so many staff and have become a money machine the customer really doesnt matter. I purchased a Cupra Formentor in August 2023 with 900km on it so practically brand new. In that time my car was more times in the garage than at home 8 times in total. It was both time lost from work having to bring the car to the garage and then arrange to collect along with the inconvenience of not having the car. So you are paying a loan, insurance , motor tax and yet no car. It became a joke from work colleagues and neighbours as to what car I had today. Roll forward to September when I asked for something to be done about the car. I was told it was a Cupra Formentor first generation so there could be problems and all under warranty. It was never about the warranty just not having the car that I had bought. I was offered another car which would have cost another deposit or a free service for inconvenience ( which was covered by cupra in the package) or stay with the car I had which still would be continuously fixed under warranty. So I asked what deal could be done to change. After 2 weeks with no communication I went to Connolly's Sligo and handed the car back. I was told they would look at seeing what they could do for me. A few days later another Cupra was offered but having had so much hassle I was sure this car was not for me. I am now a month later and the only communication was from the bank to say my loan was paid . So overall for sure Connollys are no longer a customer first environment but just how to make money. I understand that a business is there to make a profit not a loss but a balance is what makes a business succeed overall. I know for sure that Connolly's will no longer be a garage I would look at for cars or recommend .
Jack Greally in Sales was so easy to deal with and provided 5 star experience. Highly recommend going to Audi Galway. Nuala in reception very helpful and Shane Hynes very efficient dealing with payment 😉 It's obvious the team are happy in their work place and every query had a solution. Plus I love the car Thank you
Called Connolly Motors service Dept this morning withslow puncture and see if they could assist at short notice and spoke with Matthew. He was most helpful and said he would check for service time and that new tyre available. Got call back 30 min later that all was in order if I could bring car in at 2:30 . Was there on time and work completed in hour plus changed windshield wipers and gave car wash. Thanks Matthew and your colleagues in service. This was top notch service from start to finish and another reason why I like my Merc and equally important great service! Thanks to all!
I purchased my new Audi Q3 on July 4th. I was dealing with Nick Pym and he was an absolute gentleman. Nothing was too much trouble. He was on hand at all times to answer all queries I had. This is 5 star service at its finest and I would highly recommend this dealership if you are considering purchasing a car. Shane Hynes was also very helpful getting future servicing and insurance set up. Also the after sale service is second to none, Nick Pym is still on hand to help me with any questions I have or how to use any on the functions in the car.
Well folks, I promised myself I will never submit negative review on Google or anywhere else, I know it is not good for the business, I deleted all bad reviews from my account long time ago, no need for more stress I thought...However, I will share a bit of a story from past 3 weeks, maybe some of you will be able to avoid possible further disappointment.My S280 transmission needs an urgent oil/filter change. I've highlighted that at Connolly's several times, in person or over the phone. Based on multiple records from internet forums, from senior MB techs and MB experts worldwide, I asked for a quote for specific older type fluid and for whatever else is needed to perform the change.No one returned my calls in first 2 weeks, had to bother few times in person, just to be given wrong information. No replay to my email, no quote I asked for.In 3rd week I gave up and rang Ballina HQ branch for advice, asking which branch can supply me with the parts ASAP. I did NOT raise official complaint. Few hours after my call still no feedback so I rang Galway branch to cancel my appointment that I've been waiting for a couple of months, had no stomach for it anymore...In the evening, I am having a nap, mobile phone is waking me up, call from Galway branch service. I am hearing I made a complaint? and he starts teaching me over the phone and literally screaming to my ear, after I said they kept ignoring me for weeks, shouting loud that 'they' are experts, not me. And that is when things went really wrong. Such behavior is unforgivable. For Connolly's information, I do restore vintage cars and classics over 25 years, I made it very clear at the service desk many times. I am holding degree in mechanics and production engineering, investigations are part of my job, but I do not wish being doing someone else's job, that I've been doing past 3 weeks to figure out what is the best for my car, I am busy enough with my regular job. And screaming at me? is unacceptable. I am leaving this with solicitors. The amount of negative reviews that Connolly's has is shocking, and still no improvement whatsoever. Terrible experience. 'Experts' indeed.. They completely forgot putting large signage beside the entrance : 'showroom' for buyers only, the rest of the crowd is not welcome. And yes, we do scream at people.
I recently purchased a Audi A3 from Connolly Audi Ballina...I found them brilliant from the first moment we walked in the door...We dealt with Eibhlin who was extremely knowledgeable and listened attentively to our needs and wants and matched our needs exactly with our Needs... It was a pleasure to deal with her ans I would highly recommend her and would be more than happy to deal with her again..
Connolly's Ballina are a bunch of cowboys, stay well clear !!They promise a 5-star guarantee. Well here's the 5 things you will be guaranteed if you put your foot in the door of this premises ...(1) You will be guaranteed to be completely ripped off. (2) You will be guaranteed that having paid an exorbitant fee for a few hours work, they will tell you something else needs fixing for just another new hundred euro.(3) You will be guaranteed to be left on-hold for ages and when you get through to service desk, they will promise you a call back and never phone you. (4) You will be guaranteed that if you have a problem with the quality of the service, they will tell you that you should consider yourself lucky they were kind enough to fit you into their busy schedule.(5) You will be guaranteed to feel like something is very dodgy about this crowd. They almost have a monopoly on VW in the west and north-west so they think they can do what they like. Very arrogant, impolite and unprofessional staff. STAY AWAY FROM CONNOLLY'S, THEY ARE TOTAL COWBOY MERCHANTS !!!!
I went in today to have my car serviced and they wanted me to pay to take one of their cars I’ve never done this in all the years I have bought off them whilst the service was being done absolute joke last week we left them just under 600€ with a van service and we have 2 vans and 2 cars off them so needless to say I will get my car serviced elsewhere they know in ballina they have people because there is no other Volkswagen dealerships well I can bring mine elsewhere and I will!They are okay to let you take a car when your handing a big lump sum over to them over the past number of years they have got worse their customer service is 0 and the people especially at the service desk are rude and abrupt they don’t deserve peoples money go elsewhere to purchase your car because they are great when buying but when it comes to the rest forget about it.I asked the guy to set it to longline service and this was a problem too actually seemed everything was a problem so that’s why I left with my car!He wanted me then to use my insurance which I had already done during the year for them when they were fixing my car which was under warranty and again I shouldn’t of needed to do that so I couldn’t do again or it would be a huge cost on my policy. They should have garage insurance it shouldn’t be up to me to do all that or a courtesy lift which the guy wouldn’t give either.I won’t be back to purchase or service I’d rather give my money to people who deserve it.Obviously they aren’t so much that family run business anymore if they were they certainly wouldn’t treat a good customer like that.They need good staff and with a nice customer service manner not what they have none of them want to do anything for you it’s a shame it’s really gone downhill the last number of years and I’ve stuck with them but not anymore.I’d rather drive somewhere else and get mine done!All the reviews here are great when purchasing but it’s when there’s something wrong with the car then thats when Connolly’s will not help of course they are going to be excellent when selling :-)They are priced over the odd for their cars but I always liked to support a local family run business I’m sure their attitude will be “who cares it’s only only one customer with 4 VW”but one day more and more people will go elsewhere and in this current climate people go for best value & customer after service!!I honestly never had these issues when I was with Audi when Peter was there :-) They also told me when trading my Audi they couldn’t allow me as much as if I had a VW trade in and sure Audi is worth way more!!
I recently went to Audi Sligo to service my audi and while I was waiting i test drove a 2021 Audi Q5 which I ended up buying as I just loved it. Many thanks to Richard for all you help in progressing the sale through quickly and efficiently. This is my fourth Audi from Audi Sligo and have been impressed with their Sales, customer service and attention to detail. I have been to other Audi garages but have yet to receive the customer focused care that I get in Audi Sligo. Go raibh maith agaibh.
