Discord used to be great, it was the voice chat app that everyone needed and didn't know it. Now it's become too big. It's outsourced it's support to AI, and there's now just a black market for old discord accounts so scammers and hackers and use it to steal other accounts or customer data. I've had my personal data stolen because they app keeps it in plain text. Support is of no use because AI just repeat the same answers.
After supplying customer support with 3 separate bank cards ive used to purchase Nitro over the years, IP, Paypal, Full name, Address, Screenshots of authenticator App thats still generating codes, screenshots of bank statements showing Nitro purchases, Proof of things ive gifted to friends, Screenshot of Backup codes I had used days before locked out, Login Token, a recording of the issue when i try login they still refuse to either remove the 2fa or simply reinstate the code generator 2fa method I had setup. Even though months ago I was hacked they swiftly removed the 2fa and sent me a email to resetup 2fa. I can't explain my disappointment. I've now quit discord after many years of actively using it daily. Account is “Cryosick”
Discord is a great communication app for gamers, educators, musicians, artists etc. Yes - it does collect your data but only to make your experience with the apps smoother. They offer great incentives and as a long time user I can only recommend Discord. It's a free app for all to use and make their own server. The Nitro sub supports both Discord.com, the servers you are a member of and makes you look professional when using it.
Basically a scam. Overcharges and freezes accounts for "suspicious activity" under the following message. Also if public they'd be run straight into the ground. $100 is too much for Nitro.You’re receiving this message because we detected suspicious activity on your account and believe your account may have been compromised. This can happen if your Discord password is the same password used on another website and that website was hacked, or you accidentally gave your access token to someone else.
I approached Discord support with a simple request:‘Hey, I can’t access the email on my account, but here’s all the proof I own it.’Discord replied:‘Wow, that’s a lot of proof. Anyway, we can’t help. Make a new account.’Really loving this energy. It’s giving strong ‘Customer Service by Magic 8 Ball’ vibes.Would give 1 star, but honestly they didn’t earn it.
Very bad or non-existant customer support ! My account has been banned for an unjustified reason. An absolute nonesense about a internet meme that I sent from Facebook that apparently show child abuse which is absolute nonesense. There is literaly nothing in the meme that shows any kind of abuse on anybody. Again this meme is circulating in META. I wrote to them, they don't even answer they just close the case. Very bad customer support if you can call it that.
