After all our years of searching we have finally found a company who know how to manage travel for a student group! First class service from request to departure. The students definitely had an enhanced experience thanks to the expertise of Diversity Travel.
Unfortunately my employer (major UK university with tens of thousands of staff) has taken on Diversity Travel as the provider to book all travel. You need to go through them lest your money won't be refunded. Problem is, they don't really have a clue what they're doing. I wasted two days to book a rail ticket between interface not working (but their IT team is working on it, rest assured), prices not matching what I could see online and other things. Eventually I got an e-ticket but no seat reservation, despite asking for it. They told me I can call Crosscountry to add the reservation, which they could not do, as a 3rd party issued the ticket. Went back to them and they said the only solution is to cancel the ticket and make a new one, but it had to be made by their special rail team 🤦🏼 and to be collected at the station.We did that, I spoke with the rail guy who assured me I would have a reservation. We spent a good half an hour on the phone to explain all the issues and what I wanted. He confirmed the seating preferences and half an hour later he sent me the tickets... without seat reservation!I eventually found out (not thanks to Diversity Travel) you couldn't reserve seats with that ticket type. I called them back to ask what they were going to do with that and they had the face to thank me for letting them know that was the case... (rail guy said he had learnt something new that day)I'm not sure how they got chosen as the University sole provider. Probably their marketing skills are better than their travel agent ones...
It's always worrying using a new company for school travel especially as we've used the same for quite a while, but I decided to take the plunge and see what they could offer. Everything was dealt with efficiently and quickly from the initial enquiry with Kristin to the booking and organisation of the itinerary and fine details with our travel expert, Anoushka. She was so good and made our experience really personal. We had a travel issue - not the companies fault but due to an accident on the way to the ferry terminal which impacted the first day of our itinerary in France and ferry travel. Problems were ironed out smoothly and so professionally, even though I had a slight panic my end! There was no need to worry. Our trip leader used the emergency contact details in France and received outstanding service. So much so, we are booking again for a different destination and really looking forward to it. This could be the start of a beautiful relationship!
I’ve booked flights via this company several times and have always been happy with their service. A lot of time and effort was put into listening to our needs and then finding what we needed. We are a tiny organisation and sometimes flights could only be found that were the same as directly booking online but when that happened we were informed. We experienced a difficulty with a team member (ours, not Diversity’s) at the last minute (actually after check in) and the staff responded quickly, going over and above to help. I have just returned from visiting our project. If I’d booked for myself it would have cost me £500 more than the flight that Diversity sourced for me …… always friendly, professional and I feel that they care about us as clients. Thank you Diversity, you are the best!
A W U L F! I am associate professor in a Uk university. I worked for diffrente leading university international. I ve NEVER EVER found such as poor system. It is clunky and costs more than going direct through an online search tool. I am collecting differnet evidence to bring my uni to change this system.

Their online booking system is clunky and costs more than going direct through an online search toolIf you manage to make a booking and you need to query anything (maybe the airline change your flight for example), it's impossible to contact them. Emails go unanswered and you're left on hold for over an hour on a regular basis.Finally, I booked a hotel with Diversity, only to get home to an £800 bill on my credit card. When I queried with the hotel, I was told the card supplieed by Diversity bounced. Upon calling Diversity, their first response was to insist I sorted out their problem directly with the hotel. It took a lot of arguing to convince them that the responsibility lay with them and they should refund my costs.If you want inconvenience as considerable extra cost, book through Diversity
Their interface is diabolical. It basically doesn't work.... or more properly it doesn't work the first time you try to book something: in my case it refused my (correct) Risk Assessment number. I did the whole booking again from scratch with all the same details and it worked. Had to do it twice for my hotel booking as the same thing happened. Absolutely useless. I can't avoid them as they are my work travel agency of choice.
