Absolute awful company and extremely sneaky we arrange late pickup and then when got to the desk 45 minutes early they was already closed and no one was there to support so we had no choice but to book a hotel for the night and wait for the morning, turned up and they was barely apologetic that this awful firm has cost me a fortune in last minute local hotel and taxi to and from it cut my holiday short by a day I was then greeted with a £300 insurance form I had to sign which was not expected otherwise I couldn't have the vehicle which is non refundable and not with the price of the hire overall awful experience will never use these again good luck if you do look at your reviews your a joke
Terrible experience with Drivalia. I arrived to collect my rental car only to face confusion and poor communication. Despite having gone through the booking process, I was told there was no car available for me. Staff offered little to no help and simply pushed me back to the broker instead of resolving the issue. This left me stranded, stressed and out of pocket. Completely unprofessional and unreliable – I would strongly advise avoiding Drivalia.
Avoid at all costs! Worst car hire experience we’ve ever had. It took forever just to get the car, and when we finally did, it was filthy inside and out and handed to us with no fuel, we barely made it to the next gas station.To make things worse, they forced us to buy their overpriced insurance, even though we had full coverage through our credit card. They justify it by requiring an outrageous £60,000 collision coverage (a sneaky tactic, since most US credit cards already cover up to $65K, which is more than enough anywhere else). This is clearly how they trap customers. They market themselves as the “cheaper option,” but in reality, they nickel and dime you at every step. Unprofessional, dishonest, and stressful from start to finish. 🚫 Stay far away from Drivalia in Edinburgh, go with literally any other company if you value your time, money, and sanity. EDIT: Expedia has already contacted you multiple times on my behalf to request cancellation and refund of the unnecessary insurance that was added to my booking. Despite their efforts, you have repeatedly denied approval. I have also personally tried to reach out directly and received no response from your team, which makes this situation even more unacceptable. Rental Agreement No. 3323934 Since you have refused to resolve this matter directly, I will now be filing a formal complaint with UK consumer protection authorities (Citizens Advice / Trading Standards).I am giving you one final opportunity to process the refund of the insurance portion of my booking immediately before escalation proceeds.
Booked a car to hire for a week, was given a lovely spacious car by Stewart who made everything real easy from start to finish went out of his way to make sure I was happy with my booking. Excellent customer service I would highly recommend.
This is the third time we have used Drivalia and couldn’t fault them at all .Tony was fantastic as usual, extremely courteous and he was very kind to give us an upgrade car which was a lovely surprise . We wouldn’t use anyone else when renting a car , 5 star service .
