Spent £100 on a service and change the elements…
Apart from changing the heating elements nothing else was done, hadn’t even cleaned it (still had crumbs etc inside of the case-not sure how they could even change elements without cleaning it)or from what I can tell nothing else was done. Will not buying another dualit product
Our kettle, a 5-year-old 2-liter stainless steel model, is experiencing issues with a deteriorating plastic fitting that is releasing micro-plastic particles into the boiled water. This raises serious health concerns. We reached out to the support team and were informed that this model cannot be repaired and that the micro-plastic issue complies with health regulations. Given that these products are manufactured in the Far East, I find their response quite troubling. Additionally, we were surprised to learn that our assumption about a lifetime warranty on all products was incorrect, which was a significant factor in our decision to invest in this kitchen appliance. Is anyone else facing this issue, or are we alone in this experience?
Purchased a premium toaster for £99. It lasted just over a year and then sparks flew while I was toasting a bagel, causing a power outage in my kitchen. After that, the toaster was dead, and the guarantee was only for one year. Only the Classic models are repairable. Don't waste your money on any other models. I could have bought a much cheaper one that would have lasted longer.

We own several kitchen items from this brand (toaster, kettle, etc.), and from our experience, the quality is far superior to any other brand we've tried. After many years, the kettle needed a bit of attention for one of the fill level windows. I contacted customer service, and they were excellent, repairing the kettle to like-new condition within weeks—fantastic!
I know it's a premium-priced product, but it truly meets expectations. The Classic Toaster ranges from about £180 depending on how many slices you want to toast. It’s not automatic—you have to choose the slots and set a timer for the desired browning level. It doesn’t even pop up when it's done! So why justify the price? 1) It's solid and reliable 2) Every feature serves a purpose 3) The design is iconic 4) It encourages you to think about your toast preferences 5) It feels almost artisanal. While it may not fully justify its cost, I enjoy using it and would miss it if I switched back to a basic model.
I needed to order new heating elements for my sandwich toaster and mistakenly ordered the wrong ones online. I called customer service and was assisted by a very polite representative who was incredibly helpful. She explained it was late in the day to reach the engineers and promised to call back on Monday with the correct information. True to her word, she did. Her knowledge was impressive, and she guided me through replacing the elements step by step. My toaster is from 1996, and only one element has failed, so I'm replacing them all. If you're considering a toaster, look no further than this brand, made in the UK, with all spare parts available, plus the chance to speak with fantastic customer service.
I purchased a kettle with a promotion of 50 free coffee bags upon registration, which influenced my decision to buy this expensive kettle. After registering, nothing happened. When I called customer service, they cited an IT issue with no resolution, suggesting I try re-registering later. I proposed they keep a list of those waiting for the offer and notify us when it’s fixed, but they refused, citing the same IT problem. The kettle seems fine, but the customer service experience was disappointing, lacking initiative. I wonder if I should continue pursuing the promised coffee bags or if it’s just a way for the company to increase profits by making it difficult for customers to redeem offers.
My two-slice toaster became a fire hazard. It started with the timer switch sticking in the 'on' position, causing it to overheat and the safety switch to deactivate. Unaware, I sent it for repairs, and they reset the safety switch but didn’t check the timer switch. Upon return, the timer switch continued to stick, and I had to manually reset the safety switch. Eventually, the safety switch also failed, leaving the toaster on for potentially hours. Concerned about fire risk and wasted electricity, I discarded it. I find the situation frightening and will not buy from this brand again.
I bought a kettle and toaster approximately two years ago. The kettle now has a fault where I must hold down the switch for it to boil. I paid a lot for these products, hoping they would last longer than two years. The one-year warranty is very disappointing. The website claims replaceable parts are available, but there are none for the switch mounted on the element. Additionally, my review detailing these issues was not published, suggesting they only showcase positive feedback.
