Received a bill for our communal lighting (4KW hrs/month) indicating an outstanding balance of more than £500, because EDF changed the direct debit at one point to £1/month. Have been trying to find out who authorized this, per the Direct Debit Guarantee. The communal account was in the name of an individual flat owner and they asked I send a formal letter ensuring it is in then name of the Management Company registered at Companies House. Received a return email 17 September 2025 assuring me this had been updated. Called back in mid-November to bet sent through the entire go-round again, with them claiming they had no communication on the account. And that includes a further phone call I made to them just last week! I appreciate data protection issues, but this is ridiculous. If a customer service rep promises you their records have been updated, it should have been updated.
