Emma talked non stop about her travel guide while in Quebec. He was friendly, informative and funny. She has a hard time being away from home and he helped make it easier - along with her teacher and friends. She has enjoyed showing her family all her pictures and sharing stories since coming home. It makes us want to go there now too, to enjoy all Old Quebec has to offer
Tour guide was well prepared, hard working, friendly and clever. Hotels were prefect for our group. Bus driver experienced and friendly, gave me confidence that transportation was safe and efficient. Meals were inconsistent - one meal, which had requested pre-selection between two choices weeks prior to dinner, suddenly at the restaurant stated that only one choice would be available. A pattern evolved that our group was sometimes a 'cash grab' without need for quality. Events were excellent - perfect mix of outdoor activities, culture, history, education, with a element of surprise.
Our travel was very smooth. Our tour guide Olivia took excellent care of us. She showed all of the students and teachers that she was ready to help them with answering any questions throughout their trip, and that she really cared about each of them. The activities were fabulous. The winter sledding, tubing and snowshoeing were highlights, as well as the ice palace and ice hotel. In general, the activities were a great balance of educational and very fun.
Our son came back with great stories about his experience; it was an excellent opportunity for him to have a chance to try out a little independence. He had only positive things to say about his trip and it broadened his view of the world.
Our child went on the Gr 9 Quebec trip, from Alberta and they went along with another group from elsewhere in the province to make for a larger group. She really liked the variety of the activities that was planned for the groups, the timing allotted to the activities. Loved the Basilica, the museums, the fun ones like Graffiti cafe and laser tag. She liked the free time during the day but wishes those times could have been a little longer so they could explore more. She also wished they had a little more free time at the end if the day once at the hotel. There was sometimes only 45 minutes between arriving and lights out, not leaving a lot of time for 4 girls' night routines and showers. They flew on a connecting flight within Alberta to meet with the other group, later at night and then onto Montréal, with a 3 hr layover in between, so they traveled all night. They arrived early morning in Montréal and then had a FULL day of touring on foot. The bus ride to their first stop was filled with the tour guide talking when all they wanted to do was sleep. That could have been planned out better, earlier flights so they at least get a decent sleep as hardly any of them slept on the plane. It made for a very long emotional day and was actually regretting going on the trip. Luckily a good night sleep the next night helped and enjoyed the rest of the trip. She felt like the tour guide wasnt always on top of things, like some of the instruction didn't make sense or not clear instructions on where to go, when to meet. They felt they had to ask their chaperone alot for clarification. Food- was decent, alot of pasta, was glad they were able to visit some markets to get some food and snacks.
This was my daughter’s first trip away from home without her parents. She was nervous about this. The activities that they participated in she thoroughly enjoyed and helped her relax. She is glad she went on the trip.
Chad through the planning and organizing portions and Mathieu as tour director made my job as group leader/chaperone a piece of cake! Well organized, flexible, adaptable and always super professional. Always a great experience with EF knowing the support is always there no matter the situation.
The tour, activities, accommodations, tour guide, security were all fantastic. I was disappointed in the travel plans. There are plenty of direct flight from St. John's to Montreal. Having students fly to Toronto in between added unnecessary time for travel and opening up the group to more possible issues.
