Despite multiple attempts to resolve a major overbilling issue, Eneco has failed to act with the urgency or transparency this situation demands.I discovered that my heating consumption was overestimated by over 60 GJ across two billing years (Aug 2023–July 2025), despite being absent for 216 days and having valves shut off. My verified meter readings show actual usage of just 18.643 GJ, yet Eneco charged me for 78.166 GJ — resulting in an estimated overcharge of €5,700–€6,000.I submitted a detailed complaint with complete documentation. Instead of acknowledging the urgency, Eneco told me to “wait 10 working days” — the same response I received the week before: no confirmation, no escalation, no transparency. It is not a minor discrepancy. It’s a systemic billing failure with profound financial impact! I expect: a corrected jaarnota for both years; full reimbursement of overcharged amounts; and future billing based on verified readings, not estimates. Until Eneco takes responsibility and resolves this, I cannot recommend their services to anyone.
Eneco has no functioning customer service. They are uninformed and not familiar with any problem you bring to their attention. Trying to find out what their specifications are with regards to the installation of an district heating distribution unit is near to impossible. They refer you to other phone number or promise to write an email, yet you can never get a hold of someone and will never receive an email.
I contacted the service department for help as I had no hot water for 3 days. I called on my day off to indicate it was an emergency. They refused to put me through to a technician to help me over the phone. Could only schedule a visit on a weekday when I'm working. The service rep hD no empathy for my situation - raised her voice and hung up the phone!!!! Im cancelling my contract. Horrible horrible service!!
The energy supply works fine, but Eneco’s billing and customer service are very poor. My monthly installment was already about three times higher than my actual usage, and Eneco’s own system recommended lowering it. Instead, they unilaterally increased it further, billed me extra, and then quickly switched it back without notice — so unless I checked my invoice, I would never know. When I asked why, customer service said it was “to prevent me from overpaying at the end of the year,” which makes no sense since I am already overpaying and should have had my installment decreased. The chatbot is frustrating, chats disconnect automatically, and agents give vague or dismissive answers. Very disappointing and not transparent.
Unacceptable. I am trying to cancel my subscription for maintenance as I have sold my house and moved out of the country. Through chat they keep saying that I don’t provide them with the right details, through phone they say they only support English through the chat, asking for a call back-they say they will call within 10 mins, 2 days later no call. The worst experience ever.
