We had a horrible experience with this energy supplier. My husband was very ill last year, they started supplying gas and electricity without any consent or signed contract, they may have called but he never signed anything, when my husband found out he asked them if they have signed contract they could not come up with any so we stopped them from supplying any further. After that they sent several thousands Euros of fine. It seems as if this energy company was only interested in giving fine and threatening that if we did not pay the fine would get bigger. We made complaint to their complaint department and they did nothing and now they are trying to claim these huge fines without having any signed contract with us through debt collection company. Eneco's actions show a disregard for their customers' financial well-being and raises questions about their commitment to keeping good relations with their customers. It's disappointing to see a company prioritize profits over the genuine concerns of its customers. Stay away from this company .
My experience with Eneco has been frustrating and disheartening, especially due to their steep price increases for heathing services in 2023. These sudden jumps in fees left me feeling like I had no choice but to comply, regardless of the strain it put on my finances. What's worse is the lack of alternatives. When faced with the dilemma of either paying Eneco's inflated prices or risking disconnection, the latter option came with a hefty 800 euro penalty. It felt like being backed into a corner with no escape, all because Eneco held the monopoly in the area.Adding to the frustration is the lack of transparency. There was no warning or explanation for the sudden price hikes, leaving customers like me feeling blindsided and scrambling to make sense of it all.Eneco's actions show a disregard for their customers' financial well-being and raise questions about their commitment to sustainability and customer service. It's disappointing to see a company prioritize profits over the genuine concerns of its customers.Overall, my experience with Eneco has been a nightmare. The unjustified price increases and lack of options have left me disillusioned and dissatisfied. I'd caution anyone considering Eneco to think carefully before committing to a company that seems to prioritize profits above all else.
The company's customer service procedures are there only to stall consumer complaints rather than solve them. They are monopolists, especially when it's about city heating, as we consumers can not go anywhere else. I am planning a legal case against them, so reach out if anyone is interested in joining hands and getting them by their own policies.
I pay a monthly subscription for their app, and it's terrible. Customer care is non-existant: when you call their 088 895 59 59 it's all in Dutch - you need to answer in Dutch their prompts, otherwise you don't get any help. But even after that, if they are too busy- which is always the case- they just hang up on your face! Then I reached via their chat online because they invoiced me wrong, charging 2x for a month subscription in the annual invoice. Spent over 1 hour on their online chat. Also, the app just had bugs and would not work properly around October, when I reached out to CS, sharing screenshots of the app, their email resposse was that 'there were too many users using the app at the same time'... bearing in mind that I paid for 12x months to just use it during winter, and then when winter starts the app does work for 2 weeks.
They were our old supplier and last year in month of December they suddenly without any contract supplied for 4 days and sent an end bill of more then two thousand euro. My husband has no signed contract with them. They sent an offer with an email but nothing by normal mail and when my husband did not react to it because he was too ill and his laptop was not even working then that became a contract. So far they and their debt collector have not come up with it. These companies are misusing the recent law and harassing customers.
One of the worst companies in heat distribution in existence. They basically have an almost unchecked monopoly in city heating distribution in certain dutch areas (eg. Utrecht) and as a consumer you might be REQUIRED by law to get a contract with them (as was the case for us).Not only was this an incredibly painful journey with a completely broken online experience they told me they don't plan on fixing, requiring several phone calls instead, multiple phone redirects across several departments with a very narrow customer support availability window (took 2 weeks of calling back and forth), hours spent on hold and explanations of unclear terms, they also then charge you a fixed 50+€ fee EVERY MONTH for the privilege of just having a contract with them. You can literally be using 20 cents of heat per month and still pay hundreds in total. We are scared to even turn up the heating higher than 19 degrees in a completely new (2023 built) apartment complex as we would be met with thousands of euros spent on heating costs a year. We're not alone in this either. All of our neighbours are struggling with heating costs every winter mostly due to the high fixed costs which make every additional euro spent on heating a painful expense. Eneco's explanation is this money goes to providing their absolutely terrible services and supporting their InFrAsTrUcTuRe. Quite the stretch given I don't have the same issues with electricity costs where I get to choose the provider despite having Stedin as the electricity grid infrastructure maintainer. My advice, if you can, stay as far away from their city heating offers as possible. Never ever get city heating installed in your house if it's from Eneco and if you are forced to use them (in rental apartments) get in touch with your local municipality office and file a complaint. Nothing else will help this terrible company get better for the benefit of their consumers. They would happily bankrupt you if they were allowed to do so.
Horrible experience, nobody was willing to help, called and explained multiple times for 3 hours and still nobody solved my issue and honestly nobody seemed to care. I was redirected to more than 4 departments and nobody could help, they just kept redirecting my problem to someone else. They wouldnt keep track of my issue so I had to re-explain every single time. Never been more frustrated with a CS. and guess what? I have to call them (again) to resolve my issue and honestly im already stressed to do that based on the above... geweldig!!
So happy to finally have a right company to get my electricity and gas, clean and with a fair price, as a new client I am so happy. It has been a nightmare to choose the right company, if you are new in the Netherlands so many companies charge you around 600 a month plus your monthly quote to calculate how much are u going to use a year, something terrible unless that you are millionaire. Thanks Eneco to make everything nice and easy and fair.
