Had missing parts on throttle body, had to pay extra to someone to get the "completely stripped bolt" off the rear of the engine so i could put my flywheel on. Had wrong map sensor in it, so I Had to replace that as well. And it leaks oil pretty bad from main seal, which in turn, i expected.. also the distributer for my car is the camshaft sensor and that was no good as well as the crankshaft sensor... just too much money for all the problems i had to fix
Dealing with E & T World was a very pleasant process. The ad for the motor I bought said they would take all reasonable offers and while I didn't save a lot of money, I appreciated the fact I did get the motor for slightly less. Post sale, pre-shipping, and post-shipping communication via emails was very professional and timely. The motor arrived within the delivery window that was stated to me. The motor was listed to come with "everything" less, starter, alternator, A/C, and turbo (if equipped). My mechanic said my motor didn't come with valve cover gaskets or exhaust manifolds which appeared to be misleading as I had to pay parts and labor for the manifolds and gaskets. Maybe manifolds don't ship on used motor, however, I never read that anywhere. My mechanic never charged me parts or labor for the valve covers (except gaskets) so I don't know exactly what happened with these, yet, I decided to not pursue the missing parts with E & T World. The motor appears to be working great. Hopefully, it will last a long time.
First I should have read the fine print to find that unless I basically replaced all the seals and the timing belt the warranty is void. This would kind of bring the price up to a reman engine. The engine was low miles but the pan gasket leaked which the installer didn't notice because the engine had been cleaned so an extra $461. Looking back I should have had them do it but now it's spilled milk, or oil. The car is running well now but I don't have the warranty I expected. Also the shipping was pretty slow. It used all of the 14 business days at least and wasn't shipped for over a week after I ordered it. I realize it's a used engine. I would rate it a neutral transaction.
We received the motor. Our mechanic put the motor in without difficulty. Two days after my daughter drives the truck it starts leaking oil. Took it back to our mechanic and he had to replace the oil pan gasket. I do not feel the motor was properly tested or monitored when it was being tested. It cost me an additional $75 for a oil pan gasket that I should have had to purchase.
