DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. They are the worst type of scammers. They are unethical, rude and unprofessional company/ people I have ever had dealings with. On 9-14-18 I ordered an engine from engine and transmission world (one of several company names they have used in the past) for my '03 Volvo V70 from their company web-site. The engine was shipped and eventually was sent to my mechanic. On 10-12-18, my mechanic called me and informed me that the engine was defective. My mechanic sent a detailed e-mail directly to "SCOTT" outlining the problem with the engine. A replacement engine was sent to my mechanic without warning. The replacement motor was not the correct engine for my vehicle. Again, my mechanic sent a detailed e-mail directly to SCOTT outlining the problem with the second engine sent to him. From 10-29-18 and 11-18-18 I called SCOTT five (5) times in an attempt to resolve the problems of getting a correct motor for my car, Each time I called SCOTT I left a voice mail including my cell# , e-mail address and invoice number. I did not receive a return call or e-mail from SCOTT or anybody from their company. On November 10, 2018, I left a Voice mail message for SCOTT outlining my desire to end and cancel our obligations due to the ongoing issues and problems outlined above. They failed to fulfill their commitment and services I paid for. Again, no response from SCOTT or the company's representatives. Today I called the company and after being transferred three times I was finally connected to SCOTT. I stated that I wanted to be reimbursed for the incorrect and defective engines that were sent to my mechanic. Also I wanted them to reimburse my mechanic for his services and labor cost for replacing the first (defective) engine. He said their labor cost calculations is $50/per hour and it takes 8.8 hours to install equaling $440.00. My mechanic costs of removing the old engine and replacement of the defective engine (and other engine components ) was $2351.48. SCOTT said that was all I was going to get even though they sent and supplied me with an incorrect and defective engines!! I said I wanted to speak to the manager, he states he was the warranty manager and that's the only person I was going to talk to. I then asked him to speak to the CEO of the company to voice my concerns. He said that I wasn't getting the name or contact information for the CEO of the company. Everybody I spoke to at that company appears to be incompetent in their ability to do a simple job. Their customer service is non-existent and they don't stand behind there products. Finally, SCOTT was sent e-mails and phone calls reference every problem(s) I had issues with the engines and labor costs. He choose to ignore those requests. Disgusting!!!
I wish I could leave less than a 1 star.........this company also operates under the website engine-transmission.com . They shipped me a bad engine, and then said they would only pay my mechanic $410 to remove and replace the bad engine. Who would remove and replace an engine for $410? No mechanic I know. This is unacceptable. Oh, and not only that, but when I called to inquire about this, the guy (Scott) laughed at me and said good luck and hung up the phone. It took us almost 3 weeks to get the first bad engine, and now 3 weeks after the replacement issued engine was ordered, it is about 9 days out. If you need to get back on the road, or heck even get a good replacement part, this is not the company/website for you. Oh, and another thing, you can't leave a review on their website, imagine that.
These guys are scam artists! When you agree to their contract online, it says that a 25% restocking fee will be deducted if you cancel for any reason! Doesn't matter if they have shipped the part or not. Not a reputable company. They have changed their company name to engineandtransmissionworld to cover up all the bad business they have done in the past as SWengines. Purchased an engine from them and then within one business day, discovered it was the same company, cancelled my order which was paid thru discover card and they are still trying to stick me with a $250 restock fee even though they had not even started to ship the engine yet.
We ordered a transmission, waited three weeks. Made numerals calls. No one knew what was going on. Our customer could not wait anymore. We found an other transmission and got it the same day. The transmission from the Engine and Transmission World arrived after the car was gone. We did not accept the shipment. The transmission went back. We could not get any refund.
Unfortunately there isn't a -100 star option. These "people" (and I use the quotes liberally) are scammers who've changed their business name several times: Quality Used Transmissions, SW Transmissions, Engine & Transmission World, Racine Transmission, etc, etc. Looks like they are based in Racine, WI. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM. They do not send items on time. They do not give full refunds for cancelled orders and claim a "25% restocking fee". LOL - how do you claim to "restock" something that never left your possession??!! They do not honor warranties and will give you the runaround, hang up on you, swear at you, etc. They have hundreds of online complaints, have an "F" rating on BBB, and are being investigated by the state and FBI. Absolute crooks and hope they burn in hell.
DON'T BUY from them. Not worth the hassle. They won't reimburse you for your labor when the engine breaks down. The engines are essentially junks. Buy at your own risk. This company has terrible customer service. No answers when you have a problem. You WILL BE IGNORED as they have caller ID. Both engines are junks and essentially they will avoid fulfilling their warranty terms by stating you need to buy everything else new. DON'T BUIY FROM THEM or YOU WILL ULTIMATELY be scammed! Their engines are junks.
I have had a horrible experience with your company. I bought a transmission for my 2003 Honda Element EX. It took almost a month for me to get my transmission initially that was delivered to a Honda dealership in installed by them as well. Within the first 2 weeks it seemed to have had a shifting problem. In which I took it back to Honda for inspection and apparently it triggered some soft codes which clear themselves. About A Thousand Miles later now the transmission is making a loud whining noise. I spoke to the warranty manager Scott Green today and he indicated that nothing can be done being that the warranty was not filed online after installation of the transmission. The Integrity of your parts should be more than an online paper trail. I do have documentation of mileage from when the transmission was installed until bringing it back to the dealership to address the whining noise which appears to be internally. I will never recommend anybody buying parts for you and will be filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau along with contacting an attorney. Initially I received a 12 months 12000 mile parts and labor warranty. The transmission barely lasted a thousand miles and 3 1/2 months. Honda said they would work with me on labor costs if you would send me another part. Scott was rude and hung up with me at the end indicating he had the final say so in this matter end of story. They have the worst customer service I have never encountered in 55 years of my life and in my Professional Automotive career.
I asked for a quote. I received one via email and then another the next day offing a discount. I called and made a counter offer at which time the sales rep was very abrupt (causing serious doubts in my mind). I research the company and found an abundance of negative and nightmare reviews including the rep telling customers to F--- off! I emailed the company about the abrupt treatment for making a counter offer and received this reply. "I was abrupt because you are a moron!" If they treat potential customers this way imagine what happens when they have your money! I found another company providing the same engine same miles similar warranty and at the price I offered. Thank God I followed my gut about this HORRIBLE customer service rep.
The engines that we have purchased seem to be low mileage units as advertised, the only problem we have encountered is the rust from these northern units and damage caused by shipping. The warranty is great if you can install said units in a timely manner, but if you have employee issues during this timeline you can void your warranty. I would like to see the time required to install said unit to be lengthened by a couple of weeks. At least on diesel units!!
Finding the right engine and making the purchase was easy and quick. The pricing was good for the type/brand of engine. Coordinating the delivery was just as easy. Once the engine arrived to the dealership and was installed, the mechanics at the dealership found that the engine needed critically damaged and worn parts replaced. They found that the worn parts would cause the same failure that I previously had or worse. I had them do the repairs. I submitted a warranty claim in March 2015. It is now July 2015 and I have not been contacted or made aware of any progress on my claim.
