Transmission warranty bs

EditWe purchased a transmission. When we received it 3 weeks later, it was a crap transmission and never left the shop.We decided to go through the warranty process. It was promised to me by Alan (extension 2061 when you call 888.344.8044) that the labor to put in the second transmission would be covered. We waited another two weeks to receive the replacement transmission and paid the mechanic for the second time $1,100. At this point, we paid $2,200 for labor plus $1,300 for the transmission.A grand total of $3,400 and 2 months without the vehicle. When it came time to get the money back for labor, we were given the runaround. Alan lied to me, cussed at me, yelled at me, and hung up on me more than once. I am beyond livid. They just told us today that we are getting $250 toward labor and that's it, which we haven't received and don't even know if that's true. We were told to talk to Samantha, but she won't be in until Wednesday. We were also told by Alan via email that we have lost the privilege of their customer service (so I don't know how calling Samantha on Wednesday is gonna go) and they will no longer speak to us. Please never buy anything from them, and if you get the chance, call Alan and ask him what exactly his job title is.Because at this point, I've been told he's in accounting, he's the manager of warranty, the manager of customer service, and he also answered the phone when we tried to talk to someone in sales. So please just ask him. He really hates that question because when I asked, he yelled, cussed, and hung up on me. Let me know how it goes for you.He also is screening our calls and refuses to answer until I dialed *67, and wouldn't you know, he answered. I'll let you know what Samantha says on Wednesday

Purchased a transmission from this…

Purchased a transmission from this company received and paid to have transmission installed. The transmission had no reverse and second gear was no good. Called and they sent out another transmission when asked about labor cost was told they normally don't cover the uninstall portion of the labor but would pay for the reinstall. According to Allen who apparently has many different titles within the company with this being an outstanding circumstance they would fully reimburse for having the second transmission installed. I payed the 1100 dollars to have the 2nd transmission installed. After 5 to 7 days me and my wife simply called to find out about our labor warranty status. We were given the runaround and were mis informed on who we were to talk too. When asked what his title was within the company because we were told he was accounting he asks my wife " are you f#$&ing crazy" then hung up the phone. After several attempts to find out when we could be expected to be reimbursed for the second labor charges accused the refunded only 250.00 of the cost which I still have not received. This company is deceptive in their tactics and do not honor their terms and conditions whatso ever they have now black listed us from filing a complaint with anyone above Allen I can only assume he runs the show. As a business owner I could never get away with treating my clients this way nor would I ever. Do not buy anything from this company. They are crooks and give other parts suppliers a bad reputation

I bought a used transmission with 8k…

I bought a used transmission with 8k miles come to find out when it arrived I had 3 different invoices from other companies I looked into this and the transmission actually had 35k miles. After I wanted to send it back they wanted a 25% restocking fee and for me to pay for shipping. I talked with a manager and told them I had talked to an attorney, they then decided to give me $500 back which is unacceptable. I wish I would’ve went ahead and sued this company.

I would like to share the worst mistake…

I would like to share the worst mistake I have made on 8/2/2025 I trusted the Engine & Transmission World company I bought a transmission for my car I used my credit card to pay but here comes my nightmare they told me that the transmission was going to arrive between three business days and nothing ever arrived I called them and they told me it was already ready in their truck I asked them for a tracking number but the answer was we don't have one call us in two daysI called again for several business days, and it was the same answer, your transmission is in the truck and we don't have any tracking number and I never received anything. I called again and wanted to contact the seller who I spoke to the first time when I bought the transmission, and it was impossible. They never answered my calls, they always sent me to the shipping department. Here comes the robbery, be very careful with this company, they are thieves, scammers. I paid them $2045.00 for the transmission and shipping. When I saw that I never received anything, after several business weeks I decided to cancel my order, and I contacted my credit card, and they told me that they had only returned $1425.00.I contacted Engine & Transmission World because they had charged me $620.00 dollars. They told me it was for shipping and restocking fees, but I told them that you never sent anything, and I never received anything. Their response was that we never sent anything, but you cancelled the order. Now you must pay. For shipping and restocking feesNow I have to pay my credit card balance of $620.00. Be very careful with these thieves. If anyone knows a lawyer or a way to file a lawsuit against them, please put it in the comments. Let's join all of us who have been robbed and file a lawsuit.

Avoid this business at all costs

Avoid this business at all costs. I am posting my experience with them here, but you don't even have to take my word for it. Simply google them (and any of the nearly 20 other business names they operate under) and you'll learn all you need to know. I wish I would have done that before sending them my hard-earned money. This company, operating under one of their many other names (SWENGINES) guaranteed me a used engine with less than 78,000 miles on it (that they state was inspected and pressure tested), for $1796.00. They also boast about having a full warranty (replacement or refund) if the engine is not what they purport it to be.I received an engine that had caked on dirt and oil that was nearly 1/4" thick in some places. But due to the guarantee that the engine had been inspected and tested, I hesitantly paid $1200.00 to have it installed only to find out that it was seized/frozen and would not crank. After jumping through the many intricate hoops that they set in place to file a claim for a refund, and returning the bad engine, they alternated between ignoring me completely via email, and giving me the runaround on the phone. They would promise to call or email me with the date I could expect my refund but never would. Calls would conveniently drop in the middle of trying to resolve the issue and when I called back, the person I had been talking to just 1 minute prior was now out to lunch. After threatening to file complaints with the BBB, the State AG, and the Dept. of Consumer Relations, they deposited $657 back into my account with no call, email, or explanation of any kind. When I tried to find out why they only returned $657, I was told that there was a restocking fee. A 64% restocking fee when they knowingly sent me an engine that was 100% NOT what I paid for? This is fraud, plain and simple. They bank on people either not being able to maneuver their ludicrous warranty/claim process, or they simply stonewall you and return a measly fraction of what they owe, claiming that it's their policy to collect a restocking fee. The fact that they are going to restock this non-working engine proves beyond a shadow of a doubt just how shady they are. They obviously intend to turn around and sell this same exact engine to some other unsuspecting consumer and keep the majority (if not all) of that person's money as well.Lather, rinse, repeat. Where there's smoke, there's fire, and minimal research on-line has revealed literally hundreds of reports virtually identical to mine.If there were just a handful of reports like this, then I would say that maybe it's just an occasional anomaly. However, I don't believe that over 300 complaints to the BBB over the past three years and innumerable posts elsewhere online equates to an anomaly. It's a warning. So, buyer beware and run, don't walk away from this business. And if you happen to read this after they have already taken advantage of you, join me in doing everything I can to eliminate their operation by getting the word out to every corner of the internet I can find them mentioned in.I have also reached out to a couple of class action law firms to discuss the viability of opening a class action lawsuit against them. They need to know that this is not okay, and that taking advantage of hardworking people who are just trying to find a way to keep their current vehicles operational is not acceptable.UPDATE: In their response to my BBB complaint, they have the audacity to claim that when they received the returned engine, it worked fine and that they have actually already sold it to someone else who has not reported any issues with it.How convenient for them that they no longer have it in their possession and therefore I have no way of inspecting it to confirm their claim.I don't understand how they could legally sell it to someone else while my claim is still pending. Isn't it technically still my property? In the same response, they falsely claim that they are unable to issue me a refund because I opened a "Chargeback" (dispute) of the charge with my bank. They claim that they cannot issue a refund while the Chargeback remains open.I have confirmed with my bank that that is blatantly untrue. This company could immediately refund everything that they owe me regardless of the open dispute. In fact, issuing my refund in full would be the fastest way to settle and close the dispute altogether.Just more lies and fraudulent tactics by a company that makes a fortune by stealing money from hardworking Americans and then hides behind the curtain of the internet like cowards. Do not give this company a single penny of your money.

Scam. Broken parts 6 months later trash.

We run a mechanic shop in Hopkins SC. Bought a motor for a 2000 Mirage early this year from these guys. First, shipping was terrible. It took over a month to receive it. Second, a cam gear was bent and the throttle body were bent up. Which granted no buying a used motor a throttle body usually doesn't even come on it unless their too lazy to take it off but if it's on there and shows the kind of denting that one did it shows impact and hard impact where the motor in general is concerned. So if course we call them and they patch us through to someone I believe from the shop they had it delivered from and guy said cool I'll go ahead and make it so the warranty is active so we can get this corrected. So he proceeds to tell us 1 use the old throttle body off the old motor. Take the old cam gear and swap it out for the broken on and put all new timing on it even though with any motor purchases even remained TIMING is supposed to be included under warranty. It's part of the block. So he was supposed to credit money back to the shop owners account. I am 98 percent positive that has not happened. He was asked them ok so what of down the line this lady starts having issues with this motor because something was damaged internally whenever that came gear got busted and the throttle body got bent. He proclaims oh no we stand behind our merchandise we'll do what needs to be done to make it good. Cool. NOW maybe 6 months later guess what. Their motor only has 10 pounds of pressure on cylinder 1 and they refuse to warranty the motor. Claiming the motors warranty was not "activated" within 10 business days of delivery. A warranty in writing is a warranty period and of all the years we've done this with LEGITIMATE businesses we've never ran into a problem like this. Even the only issue we've had with anyone was a used transmission they refunded the customers money for claiming it had been sent back when we all knew the transmission was in his car and he was driving it. So I mean even THEY gave the man his money back. But these scam artists want to play like this is a game when this is a customers money involved here. Not just our time spent working on it. This place is a ripe off. Yeah they'll send you something. Don't expect it to work long. Stay as local as possible people. We will never do business with them again.

DECEPTIVE

DECEPTIVE. Do not do buisness with this company, they charge you a core on a used engine and then charge more for the return then the core charge. They do not want the cores anyway as they are not a rebuilder. The products are not correctly placed on pallets for shipping causing damage. The communication proccess is also appalling and will completely waste your time. Look elsewhere before using these clowns.

Cancelled Transaction

I cancelled an order within 2 days of purchase. Was charged 25% restocking fee knowing that the engine had not been pulled or shipped. The really bad thing is they charged 25% of total bill which $450 was a core charge to return old engine. Contacted EATW and was told the refund had already been processed and there was nothing they could do. Complete SCAM! You have been warned about this company.
