Scammers again …

I received 2 letters from this company both for £19 and some pence for tolls in Portugal in 2018 and 2019. The first I knew had been paid by a friend who was still in Portugal after we left but I paid the second one to this company. I wish now I hadn’t bothered as they obviously have no power. What I would like to know is, if this is a scam where is this company getting their information from including our names and addresses and camera shots of the cars going under the toll bridges. Surely the authorities in the various countries could stop this.

I have had a letter today from EPC stating I didn't pay a Toll from 2019 £7.12 now £43.25 and was about to pay until I read the below reviews. I even went through bank transfer details and the halifax stated Stop this is likely a scam! Thanks all, I will not be making any payment.

A Bunch Of Crooks With No Powers of Enforcement

Like everyone else here I have been contacted by EPC claiming I owe unpaid motorway tolls from Portugal. The dates given are 5 years ago! EPC recently appeared on BBC Watchdog who confirmed that they have no powers of collection in the UK and are simply conducting a 'fishing trip'. Do not pay!! You can check for outstanding Portuguese tolls at a website as below. I checked and have none. Cannot enter a link but search for pagamento deportagens and you will find them.

What a scam

What a scam. I received a letter from this company claiming that I had an outstanding Portuguese toll from 2019 despite paying for transponder and settling the account with the hire car company. Looking into this firstly the statue of limitations on the toll has expired but more importantly there is a Portuguese web site where you can check you outstanding tolls. Guess what I do not have any outstanding tolls, so this is a total scam.

5 years after the event got a penalty notice from these knob-ends. Obviously a scam, though they look to have a business address. You can find them on google and on gov.uk company info, seem to have a officers and resignations .... weird.Hire car in Portugal with SiXT and had a toll dongle which they settled the fees after holiday. Checked on pagamento deportagens and no outstanding penalties (it checks ViALIVRE which is who they said issued the notice). They have obviously got hold of camera imagery somehow and work through the dates that are several years old. They probably know they are hire cars. So a tourist on holiday several years ago isn't going to remember the reg, etc and for a small amount may just pay to these f'wits out of their face.I'm ignoring it! If I get another I'm getting legal! I checked the send to epc, so if you're reading this F-off and suck my plums!

A big SCAM

A big SCAM. Just like others, we checked directly pagamentodeportagens.pt and found nothing outstanding. They tried to bill us for a trip back in Aug 2021

Scam

The same thing happened to us as other reviews are saying. We got a letter for a fine and administrative fee for more than 100€ for supposedly unpaid toll on A22 Portugal. We checked pagamentodeportagens and no outstanding payments were found. You can check by entering registration plate number and toll date.

Another complaint about EPC demanding a…

Another complaint about EPC demanding a fee of £20.36 for a toll of £2 on the A22 in Portugal. My hire car had a transponder on it which cost €20 anyway to pay all motorway tolls. Vialivre, the toll company, also need to take action to stop EPC from making these spurious demands
