SCAMMERS!!

SCAMMERS!!! Got a letter from this company demanding I pay the toll payment for M50 in dublin. I immediately contacted them and provided proof of payment which was from my Monzo account. They stated that the payment was for a journey that was 3 days after payment which is mental. I did have another payment for my return journey which I also provided proof of payment for. They are only accepting my proof of payment for one trip even though I supplied evidence for both. I assume they are criminals and just harass people to they scare them into payment.

Extortion

I have been fine for driving a car which i don’t own anymore in a country i have never been to, yet i receive a letter effectively saying tough… I have even sent them my dealers sales agreement, which proves I was not the owner of the car at that time. But still they denied my appeal.Absolutely disgusting company, pay or get more fees are extortion practices.

My elderly father has been fine for driving a car which he doesn’t own in a country he has never been to yet he receives a letter effectively saying tough… absolutely appalling and I’m looking into how I can report this extortion.

I've paid and still got a letter

I was charged £4 5 months after my trip to Portugal. I've contacted the hiring company but they replied 2 weeks after my email. In mean time I've blocked their business on my card through my bank to save it from further charges as I was not aware they could hold my bank details for such a long period after my visit and to charge me anything they want without even letting me know. I still paid for the charge as it was done automatically and by the time I noticed the charge was already cleared on my statement. However almost 8 months later I've received a letter from epcplc with some pictures which prove nothing. It just a picture of the car - that's it. I went to the vialivre website and entered the car reg and the dates and it said that there is no un paid debt for that period. Which I believe it should be true as to my understanding I have paid. Now from reading your experiences with epcplc there is no way of contacting them without providing your personal data. So I'm not planning on going back to them.My question here is - what is the worst that could happen?Thank you

EPC plc a money making racket!

Like so many others I have received a demand for tollbooth charges (approx £14) plus approx £45 of added fines and charges for allegedly driving through toll booths in Portugal 6 months ago. I have no recollection of driving through booths without paying, which I would never do intentionally, and therefore no way of defending myself against the claims. During a 3 month trip I drove through France, Spain and Portugal and paid dozens of toll charges in all those countries including some in Portugal but for some reason decided not to pay just in one small area around the city of Leiria. Clearly there is something different and wrong about the system in that area.I submitted my online appeal against the additional charges but offered to pay the actual toll charges. I thought it strange that I did not receive an acknowledgement of receipt of my appeal but then forgot about it for a few weeks. Today I rang and spoke to an "Agent" from the company who advised that he couldn't access my records, that they didn't send acknowledgements (which is handy for them if you don't keep an absolute proof of your online submission, which isn't easy! I was told I had to email to request an acknowledgement!! which I have done. The business model seems to be- harvest all the weird and spurious toll booth infringements across Europe, add approx five time the cost as fines and charges and wait for anxious and/or busy people just to pay up! Easy money if you have no conscience!

Got a invoice with the date 2 november 14 days to pay, the invoice arrived to me the 30th november. Paid the invoice same day, and have now got a new invoice with extra charges. This is a scam and a letter from UK don't have a posting time for over 3 weeks. I will make a legal action

A criminal enterprise under the guise…

A criminal enterprise under the guise of a PLC. The UK government needs to take action to close this company down. They are scammers and at best run by ruthless criminals profiteering from individuals with zero accountability. Google them and the BBC for more enlightenment of there so called transparency as an alleged organised crime money laundering outfit.

I was travelling to Ireland to bury my…

I was travelling to Ireland to bury my father after burying my mother the week before. I paid all the standard tolls where you actually see a classic toll boothe and swipe your card which I did multiple times. After a month or two I received a letter from EPCPLC stating I'd gone through a Dublin M50 Barrier-free toll.I was shocked to receive this letter as I thought I'd paid all my tolls down to Southern Ireland. Having no idea I'd passed through a barrier free toll I appealed this online and was advised my case was put on hold and would be 'reviewed'. Weeks letter after no further letters or email correspondence I receive another letter 24/10/2024 stating that my outstanding journey fee of £6.26 now has an insane additional £101.44 of arbitrary fees.Absolutely pathetic, predatory and unprofessional communication from EPCPLC. After losing everything of value in my life in the last 3 months this is pushing me over the edge and I can't take this anymore.
