In 2018, from October 14 to 17, I rented a Fiat 500 from Centauro in Faro, Portugal. The rental agreement included all fees including road tolls. I still have this contract. In October 2022, I received a request from EPCpic to pay a penalty for the lack of tolls during the lease period. I sent a car rental document containing the toll to EPCpic and appealed against the fine. Unfortunately, EPCpic did not accept my complaint and did not cancel the fine. Such action calls into question the honest operation of such a company and faith in ordinary human justice. . In my opinion, this is just plain theft. And unfortunately, after this incident, I will always have bad associations with Portugal.

Registering a foreign car which should be exempt for ULEZ

Why is it SO DIFFICULT to register my French Clio 5 Hybrid, which should be exempt as far as ULEZ is concerned? I am told that I create an account and that I can then register the car. And that I can upload documents like the 'carte grise' in support of the fact that the car should be exempted. Only the Epcplc platform makes it impossible to do this. Does anyone know how to get a foreign car exempted if Epcplc does not allow one to do any of this?

Fined for 2 journeys on Dublin M50…

Fined for 2 journeys on Dublin M50 going northbound with 8 mins of each other???Impossible company to deal with as they don't take calls about the issue(English is very limited),appeals process is a joke as they don't give you enough options and unfortunately they send a standard email demanding payment roughly 2 mins after your original appeal!

Really interesting reading the reviews…

Really interesting reading the reviews about this company. I have recently received two letters from them saying I was in the wrong lane at a toll booth in Portugal in February 2022 and fining me £42. Really? I have no intention of paying as it was an honest mistake and it seems a complete scam.

I got a postal fine for a motorway in…

I got a postal fine for a motorway in Hungary. That I did accept that I was liable for.I decided to pay directly to the Hungarian toll road company via my personal bank account, utilising the international payment option. My position being that I was not going to pay a penny to EPC, having no contact with them, and having made the payment directly there was nothing further that they could do regarding this matter.Denying them revenue or the charges they put on top of the fine hits profits.

Outfit run by Cowboys

This company is an absolute joke! I received a letter from them in November 2022 relating to a toll charge in Portugal in 2019 which I had paid at the time at a local post office, I kept the receipt for a year in case of a problem. I replied immediately by post explaining that I had paid the charge which they never read, they sent me a further Charge Certificate with another £8 added. I then went through the Representation process, which has taken them until now to inform me my Representation has been rejected (no surprise there). To add insult to injury the only way to pay is electronically, I was hoping to send a cheque minus the extra £8 with a covering letter explaining the deduction as I had replied to them in a timely fashion and they had not even read my letter. I would give them minus********** if I could . WHO ARE THESE UNACCOUNTABLE PEOPLE. I have ticked the box so EPCplc will know about my review, but I guess they are too ignorant to take any notice of anything anybody says.

Shoddy company

Received a letter last month claiming I didn’t pay a fee for Dublin toll in May 23. Provided proof that I did pay and have now received a rejection saying I travelled to Dublin twice in May 23 but only paid one fee. Have asked for proof and details of second date but extremely wary of a company that doesn’t provide details of the alleged second trip and thinks that I am gullible enough to simply pay a fine for another alleged date. I know I only travelled to Dublin once in May and haven’t been back since.

Epcplc continous charging tolls that I already paid.

My rental company in Portugal did not provide a transponder for the toll when I rented a car in March 2022. I though the collection was automatic as in most countries.Epcplc then charged me first in 2022 and I paid. Then I got an extra charge in July 2023 and I paid again as it was a small amount. Today September 7 / 2023 I got two more collection letters from Epcplc referring the registration number of the car in Portugal. I Called Epcplc and talked to a lady that told me that I could try to make a complaint on their website. The website is very archaic and requires detailed personal data. Based on the reviews on trust pilot this company seems to be some kind of scam operation and cannot be trusted to handle personal details beyond name and references to the car rental.Trustpilot says that a copy will be sent to the companies info address. For your info, that address in blocked :))

Awful Company employing low grade staff.

This company is as others says simply a debt collector. It sends standard responses to appeals without bothering to read the appeal in the first place. The staff are clearly poorly trained and uninterested in actually resolving any appeals as I assume if they resolve them they won't be paid. What is worse is that they have a large contract with the UK Government, laughingly the Government from time to time tries to legislate against companies with similar business practises.
