Leeds Hunslet Road.I have used this lot several times (7-8) now and not once have I been given the car I booked 2 months in advance. The most recent episode involved giving me a hybrid electric car when I had booked a "normal" car. At collection I enquired about extending the hire by one day. I had booked for 3 and it cost about £80, but to keep the car I didnt choose for another day would have cost over £140.The clown behind the desk whose shirt has never seen an ironing board, stated that "our rates change". every question I asked was met with "...our rates change..." I will not be using these clowns again and I suggest you don't either. Utterly appalling.

Europe Car Birmingham Airport are Dodgy scammers. They tried to charge me for a missing parcel shelf from the car that was not there when I received the car. My son thought the bloke looked dodgy, so he took interior and exterior time stamped photos of the car, which they tried to contest. He thought they looked dodgy as they had a shifty looking mate who didn't even work there jumping the desk and looking at the computer!They then charged me over 200 pounds as they said the car was being returned to a 'premium location'... WTF? This was the deposit that was supposed to be returned for an undamaged vehicle. No customer service or recourse. They are CROOKS!

They have 1000 euro for damages and…

They have 1000 euro for damages and have no matrix or damage management policy they abide by. My insurance company require this and Europcar they are taking me round in circles to shake me off.

Excellent Service

Rented a car at last minute from the Derby branch and from start to finish excellent experience . The lady at reception was very informative , efficient and friendly , I had to extend my rental period 4 times each time I called the main number got through straight away and again no hassle and agents very polite . On returning my car met the same lady at reception again very efficient sorted the return in no time at all , great service .Good job guys 👍

Terrible company

Terrible company. Picked up the car from a car park in Toledo. Really bright sunny day and car so dusty impossible to inspect every inch. On return a guy goes around with a torch and inspects every inch. Finds a tiny scratch and we get charged €45 plus €50Admin fee plus tax. Absolutely certain we did not scrape the car, but no choice but to pay due to huge excess on the insurance they provide. Will never use them again. Less generous people than me might think this a bit of a moneymaking scam….

Europcar will do anything to charge you additional costs

I rented a vehicle for 16 days with a return location of Glasgow Airport. The service agent advised that there was damage to the car wheel covers which was noted and that it would be on the rental agreement. I took video of the scrapes on all for hubcaps as evidence. Upon returning the vehicle the agent advised there was damage to the wheel covers and took photos. She then asked me to sign the return documents and advised that if I refused the rental would be kept open. About two months later they then charged me £135 for damage to the hubcaps...even though I had proof they were damaged and it was noted on the rental agreement with the Carlisle office.Europcar is the absolute worst car rental company you can ever deal with...especially if they see you don't reside in the UK. This is the second time I've rented off of them with similar results...a scam additional charge.Fool me once shame on Europcar, fool me twice shame on me. Europcar management are scum.

Avoid despite attractive prices

Avoid despite attractive prices, as they will aggressively charge for minor ‘wear and tear’ damage. I usually use Avis and they are much better, and will avoid Europcar in future.

If you can, Choose a Different Hire Company

Car was not as expected, and only changed after being challenged. Due to closeness to rental date, no opportunity to find alternative car hire company. Rear offside tyre may have been illegal, but no way to check. Raised issues with delivery staff, was assured it was OK. Collection was 1 x hr late. No notification of being late. I waited 2 x hrs expecting collection to be as agreed when booked car. I was told by collecting driver that they have a 6hr window for collections. So, why was I not informed of this? Overall, a very poor experience. Customer service quite happy for me to get a car from a lower group that that booked, and only acted to reverse this when I complained. A return call promised in 20min did not come. Only got a response when I called them, 1 hr later. Overall poor service.

They lie to your face

Returned car, was told 'everything was fine' and the guy gave me the document to sign so I did. Didn't scroll up to check because of what he said. Then received a claim for cleaning fee. Complained about the lying, customer service just says 'can't comment' on it. So AVOID. They lie to your face and then do nothing about it.
