Had a hire car from here for 2 months,,,after it went back with a full valet and a full tank of petrol,they still took £41 from my bank with NO explanation and then took another £34 today,,I have had to CANCEL the debit card that they have the details for to STOP them robbing my bank,,,AVOID this firm!
I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY EVER AGAIN !I hire cars at least 15 times a year in the UK, Spain and Ireland My bad experience began with Europcar started when they incorrectly applied a fine to one of my Ireland trips and then spent TEN WEEKS sorting the issue out - They claimed I had incurred a fine and because they were unable to establish the details of the offence, they made me worried and concerned; contacting all Irish highways office and various city departments, only to discover there never was a fine ! Eventually they informed me that the fine had occurred in FRANCE - insisting it was my vehicle that had a traffic violation (I had not even hired a vehicle in France!) Their customer service was nothing short of A TOTAL SHAMBLES - emails were, at times, RUDE and ALWAYS completely disorganised ! Once they accepted their error they have ignored any request for some kind of gesture of goodwill - just an apology which arrived 25th November and an acceptance they were incorrect from the very beginning. Take my advice; NEVER USE THIS ORGANISATION; It is not worth the complicated and multi-department disorganised chaos, in the event of anything going wrong !
Absolutely abysmal experience from start to finish. I paid for a plug in hybrid (and specifically opted not to choose electric given that I was going on a very long journey). What car do they give me? An electric car. I said it was not what I paid for or at all suitable for my needs, but the answer was essentially "take it or leave it, it's all we have". To add insult to injury, the car absolutely stank of smoke and left all our belongings with the same smell.We then experienced a puncture and customer service was unimaginably bad. Every single person we spoke to gave us different (and completely contradictory) information.We had to leave the hotel we were staying at and no-one could come and fix the puncture in time, so I was told to get it collected by the AA and that I didn't need to drive it back to London some 500 miles away. However, I was then charged a one way fee, despite the fact I couldn't exactly drive a car with three tyres 500 miles.Finally, a few days later I was served with a damage report and charged hundreds of pounds, despite the fact that the damage was not visible in the video I took when the car was collected by the AA.Do not use this company. You will regret it. There is a reason why they have a 1.7 rating on here. In my view, that is far too generous.
Can only echo a number of other comments on here, they totally mislead customers. From a quote of £500 for a week car hire, ended up paying over £800! They had added premium protection, not explained it and i signed document (yes should have read it thoroughly but when you have been queuing for an hour after a flight you are frazzled!). Also sold full tank option for 61 euro, told that would be the most i would pay and didn't need to worry about topping it up on return. Only used 1/8th of the tank but still charged full amount as well. Complete rip off, don't go anywhere near them
Upalling. Wish I’d read reviews before hiring at Inverness. Not the category car I’d booked. Eurocar agent (over from Aberdeen) denied they had the car I’d booked until shown the printout! Trivialised my lack of confidence to drive the bigger car. Thank goodness my friend was confident to drive. Next- returned car Inverness airport. Unscathed —-or so I thought only to receive ‘photos’ of very poor/dubious quality—-apart from photographers legs—-that wing mirror scratched/scuffed! Confusing documentation followed——all in all I can only echo other reviewers comments to NOT hire from Eurocar unless you’re happy to risk a heart attack or stroke!
Be sure not to leave your card details with this company. I returned their car full of fuel, no damage and on time as agreed by their salesman and signed off by their technician on the day of return. As far as I was concerned all was paid for and completed, we even shook hands. A few days later I was charged an amount for an extra day which was not correct. Back and forth for three months with them and the bank to try and sort this mess. Spoke to different employees every time I phoned Europcar and had to explain the case over and over to different people. Absolute nightmare, what turned out initially to be a pleasant experience snowballed into misery. Just avoid this company. Their auto response to their clients reviews says it all. Avoid.
Booked and paid for an automatic car for collection at Park Royal. When I arrived they had no car for me however offered an upgrade at an additional cost of £30 per day. The agent was rude and the service was dismissive and unhelpful. He made no apology and told me that the situation was not his problem. I was left without a car and forced to leave the branch empty-handed, losing a day of my holiday in the process. I booked another car with Enterprise for the following day and they could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Having lodged a formal complaint, I’ve received no reply.
AVOID at all costs total ripoff merchants, worst car hire company I have dealt with. Add bogus after hire charges hoping you won’t query them. I queried via their published feedback channel only to be told because I hired the car in France they couldn’t help and I would need to contact the French branch! Total waste of time, I am now contacting my credit card company as they are unable to substantiate their additional charges and it is therefore a fraudulent and unauthorised transaction. Their underhand tactics are down right criminal.
Avoid this company. Que waiting 1.5hr to collect pre paid cars . My pre paid Mercedes c class not available I was offered a replacement Mercedes no mention of extra charge . Yet when returned they charged extra . Scammed me further by saying insurance would be £38 to protect my excess . Turned out to be £38 + vat per day . Was asked to swipe car for the £38 and £100 deposit which would be returned on car’s return . I was extra charged £284.70 which should have been £38 . I had already paid £114 to hire so total cost £399 for 2 days 158 miles . Appeals to customer care get nowhere and they refuse to refund . The worst company they are scammers and con men . The man called Cassin should be charged with fraud . Never will I use them ever again. Please avoid this company.
