After sending the skateboard to their office and covering the shipping costs from London to Northampton and back, as well as paying for their assessment, I ended up spending over £100 and loosing my skateboard. Despite their claims that they shipped the skateboard back, it never arrived. It has now been over five months, and they continue to tell me that they have no feedback from the courier company, which is simply ridiculous. How do they even manage to do business with this courier company if they can’t get any updates or feedback?Does anyone knows how I can get a refund for what was lost during this operation with Evolve?
Most unreliable skateboards available, battery problems on the new boards controller problems on the older boards AVOID your definitely better of with Onsra Exway or radium Or if you really want to get one there are plenty of boards with minimal mileage going for under £500 due to tha faults on the 2nd hand market
My battery was worn out after only 2-3 years. This sucks as a new battery from evolve is over the top expensive. But that is not the worst part. I have now waited 1.5 years in queue to get a new battery as they have been out of stock. When I finally turned to the main company in Australia they gave me this answer:"Due to this, the decision was made to cease the manufacture of all GT specific parts. Unfortunately, this means we no longer have any access to GT batteries and don't have a cost-effective workaround."Which means my board is now useless. And I dont believe it is any problem getting a chinese company produce cheap batteries for the older boards. They just want you to buy a new one. Their board was in the beginning a good product when they was a small company, but I hope the founder and owners of Evolve realize that it has now turned into a scam company that only focus on selling new boards and doesnt care about existing customer that put a lot of money in to their product.
I already post a review 2 stars but recently i got some issues with off road tires, bearings, remote etc and guys if you wanna know how poor is their warranty please private message me and i will forward you their email it is incredible speechless ../
In late December 2023 I was cruising home from the grocery store on my GTR Electric Skateboard, travelling at about 15kmph when out of nowhere the board seized up and cut out; throwing me forward off the board, causing me to sprain my wrist. Then out of nowhere the board started to violently smoke and crackle on the roadside. Luckily, I was able to turn the board off at the kill switch, so it didn't catch fire. I walked the board home to which I immediatly let down the air in my tyres and then removed my back wheels to check if anything was caught in the belts or motors. I found nothing to be there, so I turned the board back on again to check to see if the smoke problem still occurred. As I switched it on again, the board immediatly started to spew smoke. I then turned the board off, put it all back in its original box and contacted Evolve customer support. They informed me NOT to use the board further as the board is now a hazard due to the smoke and fire risk and that I should immediatly send it in to the service center to be looked at. After a a few days long lengthy battle with the customer service reps trying to charge me about $80 to send it in, I was finally able to send the board off to the service center via FedEx.After a few days I received an email from the service centre informing me that the board had indeed failed and the ECU was fried. In that same email Evolve tried to blame the problem on user error, stating that I was not running the correct air pressure in my tyres, causing too much strain on the ECU. This was nothing but pure speculation and accusation seeing as board didn't even have tyres on it when it was received at the service center, nor did those tyres have any air in them because I let them down to take off the tyres when the board had its fault. Your rep informed me not to use or touch the board any further as it was a hazard so I packed it up as it was at the time of that phone call. I have always used the air pressure recommended by the Evolve service rep on the companies YouTube channel. My board has always been extremely well maintained and treated with respect. For me personally, $2099 is a lot of money to spend on a product; so I have treated it like gold. They have on multiple occasions told me that my board is NOT covered by Australian Consumer Warranty; which in of itself is fraudulent. They have denied my right to a refund on approximately 5 different occasions.I have compiled a file FILLED with stories, photos and videos of people having the EXACT same issue and also people having extremely similar issues with their Evolve GTR Skateboards. These boards are nothing but a safety hazard and must be avoided at all costs. This has been an almost 5 month saga and this entire time I've been without my board as it's still in Evolve's possession. It's my only form of transport because I'm disabled and can't drive. I'm currently working with a legal team to take them to court to get my money. With the help of my lawyer, I have sent off a final refund request this afternoon giving them 14 days to comply otherwise with the help of my lawyer we will be taking further legal action.The have no respect for their customers or the law. Zero.They could not care less about you and your expierience with their products, they just want your money. Also don't believe the reviews on their websites an/or their social media forums. They quickly delete any critical reviews that are made and even went to the extent of banning me from posting on their Facebook forum for a month all because I mentioned this issue there. Just asking if anyone else had similar issues.IN RESPONSE TO EVOLVE'S REPLY:- My board was purchased brand new in October of 2021. The board caught fire due to an admitted fault after very minimal use. This caused injury. If it can't be ridden lightly to the shop, it can't go downhill, off-road as advertised. If you think that counts as being 'safe', 'able to do as advertised' or 'of acceptable quality', you're wrong. - According to my legthy personal expierience and also according to countless people online you do not comply to the ACL in the slightest. - The matter was taken up by Fair Trade, but they failed to contact me to get any information about the case. Due to my disabilty I found it difficult to navigate their website and I dont own a computer so I wasn't able to upload the necessary evidence I have. My legal team and I will be going back to Fair Trade to re-open this case for then to be able to accurately review this case in its entirety. Not just take your nonsense at whole value and call it a day. I did request for Fair Trade to call me to discuss the matter properly; they did not- Your offer of resolution was to fix the faulty board at no cost to me. Which I won't take because the board IS NOT SAFE. I will never feel safe on an Evolve product again. Under the ACL I have the right to full refund.
63395316My issue is this. The people that work for this company are extremely young and lack any type of After care sales and real bad communication. The reason for this, is because it is not their company and they get paid regardless of how they treat you. They are meant to be representing the company and they fail miserably. I have been asking the same question over and over again about the Halloween Skateboard event. Yes it's 15 miles, I heard you the first, second and third time! So how does this include Stoke board owners, when they can only do 10 miles ???? It doesn't does it! Make it clear that Stokes are not welcome or cannot partake in the event! Don’t just generate a flyer and let us build our hopes up, then crush them with this 15 mile Minutia.I asked them where can i meet up so that i can join the fun and be part of this so called family? (Which is a joke and you took that phrase from us, when you have no clue what it means) You take our stuff, water it down and then change the meaning of it) Do you know what family means? It means, everybody is welcome and each one teach one. So when a new member joins and you brag about being some )*(&(& family, it means nothing.You are fake and have no clue of what you are offering. You are terrain board elite and snobs. I asked the same question, and got the same answer. You cannot go on this Halloween ride with this lot, they don't give a mint about you. They are selfish and out for their own enjoyment. Tell me this. How are you going to organise a Halloween event and exclude Stoke boards??? if you did 8 miles, 4 miles there and 4 miles back, that would be ample distance, and then EVERYONE really would be welcome wouldn't they????????I spent Over £1000 for the board, helmet, gloves, lights etc, just to be excluded from the group. I wanted to meet like minded people because my mental health has taken a drop. I just want to be around others, it’s just me then. Maybe it’s because I’’m a woman and they don’t want us making them lag, I really don’t know their reasoning. I thought it was because of my background but luckily i saw the reviews and realises, no, they are just -----you can fill in the blanks with your choice of word. So i will not be coming on the ride as no one wants to pull their finger out and just tell me at what point i can join up, so that i don't kill my battery and have enough to get home. Just a simple question. I've asked in an email, Facebook and Messenger and get the same generic responses. Only one person responded to me and made me feel like I was welcome and told me about other rides. I wouldn’t want to come after I’ve left this review anyway. I’ll be branded with the pointed finger. “That’s the one that wrote to Jeff Anning” That’s how people are, they take constructive criticism, personally and not objectively cause they don’t own the company. Watch how they learn when the start their own company and realise that the importance of after sales. They’ll learn.So i will now be forwarding my complaint to the owner and founder of Evolve, Jeff Anning. I'm going to copy and paste my correspondence from the UK team and let him know how people are running his UK department. You probably worked up the wrong one this time. I'm so disappointed with you guys. I want nothing to do with your 'Family' or social media. And when my page grows, and it will, trust me on this, I will NOT be recommending your branch in E15 East Bay. I’m done with you. Next stop, Jeff Anning.Your response means nothing to me. Just the nature of the event, it should be applicable to EVERYONE, but no, you’re Skateboard ignorant and I am unhappy that I have put money in your pockets. I”m thinking of selling this and buying from a company that cares about their customers. It’s like you take our money and say eff you very much, now pss off! Not cool.
