Review Time
Been using Filmora (Lifetime Plan) for more than 6 years now. It helped me complete my MA grad portfolio in 2019, and is still helping me create videos for my channels today. It used to crash quite frequently on my old laptop, but much stabler on my desktop now. Can't complain much about the crashes because that's what happens when my video files are huge.Filmora has been a good partner of mine, and will continue to be.
It used to work well couple years ago,now with all the features and AI became full of bugsI was working on a project for more than one hour and it just crashed without saving anythinglast time i made project and when i was saving it i got the message that im using some premium features so i had to upgrade in order to save it. Not one upgrade but TWO!!! apparently if you want to use some stock video it has separate payment, and another one for some stupid effects... And of course its impossible to find a place to ask for refund
First, I would like to express my appreciation for your service. However, I feel compelled to share my experience and provide a detailed review of my recent interaction with the platform. After evaluating numerous video editing and creation platforms, I selected Filmora Wondershare due to its features and user interface.I purchased the full version, 15.1.1, and made additional payments to access various transitions and effects, which I intended to incorporate into my project. These enhancements allowed me to craft an engaging and dynamic video, fulfilling my creative goals.Nevertheless, my experience was marred by significant frustration and disappointment, primarily related to the platform's pricing structure and licensing policies. The critical issue arose during the export process. After completing my video, I attempted to use the Export function. I was then prompted with a message stating, "Remove paid assets," accompanied by a Purchase button that directed me to a monthly subscription plan. This unexpected requirement to pay again for assets I had already purchased was both surprising and disheartening. This situation felt like price gouging, as I had already paid for the assets and the software, yet was being asked to pay additional fees to finalize my project. Such practices undermine user trust and diminish the overall value of the platform. In conclusion, while the platform offers valuable features, the additional costs and licensing policies significantly impact user satisfaction. I hope this feedback encourages a review of the pricing and licensing policies to improve transparency and fairness for users.Thank you for your attention.
Filmora is a great tool. But if you bought a lifetime -older- version, Filmora automatically installs the latest version and wants you to pay (again) for it, not making it possible to export the project without a watermark. What a scam!Wondershare, never again!
Edited to add--I'd already sent in TWO help tickets before writing this review that they have STILL not responded to and their response to this review is to reach out so they can open a help ticket. LOL. RUN!Original Review: From getting the "shake down' after making a video to getting copyright claims on AI music and actual licensed music you PAY for, Wondershare Filmora is a mess waiting to destroy your business. I would RUN and find another video maker!!There are a few different issues I'll start with the one most people will hate: the impact to your wallet.Filmora is a product I purchased years ago. Then they joined the greedy 'subscription' model where you have to pay for everything --even though you paid for the program. When they first introduced it, it was really sneaky. You'd spend hours creating your video and then a box would pop up and say "You chose paid content, click here to buy before you can export". Well, they weren't indicating it cost and didn't notify users, so you had to choose to pay or start your project over. They charged for simple things that used to be free like ZOOM effects and Title openers. Then, they created a subscription plan to the tune of $19.99 a MONTH, you really cannot avoid signing up if you want to use ANYTHING save a few 'free' options that are junk. Yes, even zoom is paid. So I signed up for a 3 month plan that said all paid content would be available. It cost me $42 just to make my video. I go to export it and it says 'OOPS you chose a song that requires a subscription to our universal music for creators. MIND YOU there was NO indication on the first subscription plan that I paid for that the music wasn't included, and there was also no "pink diamond' on the song indicating it cost extra. So I had to pay $19 to use ONE song. BUT, that came with the license to use it commercially, which required me to link all my platforms from youtube to facebook so I wouldn't get a copyright claim.I didn't want to go back and redo my video so I paid it. Hence the shakedown vibes. I spent $60 to produce ONE video.Guess what happened? The MOMENT I loaded it to FB, i got a copyright strike for the music. The music I PAID $19 to use and license and link my accounts to.So I had to file a legal dispute and place the terms on it. What a nightmare. What a waste of money. What a waste of TIME.SO I emailed them and let them know. But its not the first time. They also have AI musicSpoiler alert- you have to pay for that too. You use "CREDITS" like most greedy business models.AI MUSIC is where you are told specifically that they create original music to the user generating it that is completely copyright free. So you pay and have to use 30 coins per generation and enter prompts and descriptions of what you want. You think GREAT! I dont have to worry about copyright claims because this is music I generated and its unique to me.NOPE.TWICE I got copyright claims on AI generated music and I sent Wondershare the fetch logs all the data and they said "Just dispute it"DIsputing it not only takes time, but it is also a strike against your business. It's ridiculous. So the first one, I disputed, a few months later, the same video got another claim.I emailed Wondershare Filmora. They told me I would have to get on a call with them between MIDNIGHT MY TIME and 7am to accommodate THEIR schedule.WHAT????They wanted to remote into MY COMPUTER in the wee hours of the morning because they are located in China. They dont have anyone dedicated to other time zones.Remote access isn't even necessary to determine why THEIR AI music model is eliciting copyright claims. So I ended up deleting my monetized video and losing out even though I paid for the AI generated music. I didn't stay up until 1 am to help them figure out their own problems. And now I'm going to have to go back, remake my video without the music I paid for a license to use, just to get off this merry go round. If you want to pay hundreds of dollars over the course of time to create content that will eventually be taken down, then Wondershare Filmora is the program for you! If you like platforms that trick customers into paying out the wazooo for things like zoom and blur, go for it! Otherwise, take it from me, save yourself money time and legal disputes and RUN RUN RUN!
I could use some assets for free and decided to buy one-time paid version. Then suddenly this company make some assets for only premium users without telling me.Now I have to pay extra fees for the ones I used to use, and many of them are actually
necessary things when you make a video. Also, when I bought this one time one, I was automatically in a premium membership and I had to
cancel that. This company tricks you to collect money. Plz be careful when you consider this company.Any negative things like this people can notice and not good for your reputation. Do not trick people, be transparent!
I’m honestly disappointed with this software. The pricing plans on their website are extremely confusing and feel intentionally vague. I purchased the perpetual license thinking it would unlock the features I needed, but it turned out to be almost useless. Even after paying, most functions are still locked behind additional upgrades and paywalls. It feels like I bought the license for nothing. The so-called free version is basically just for show, and the perpetual version isn’t much better since key features remain inaccessible unless you keep paying more.On top of that, the application is full of glitches and random bugs that constantly interrupt the workflow. Instead of focusing on stability and clarity, everything seems designed to push more upgrades at every step. Overall, the experience feels greedy and extremely frustrating. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it in its current state.
Good product I like the software but I am not able to purchase anything from it since it is to bugged XD. And the support is terrible there is litteraly no way to contact them, believe me i tried everything. This might be only way to get in contact otherwise you get an ai assistant which is terrible. So dumb.
