DO NOT FLY WITH THIS COMPANY! Extremely Disappointing and Unfair Pricing PracticeI booked FlyNYON’s open-door helicopter experience, paying a premium (around $330 per person, excluding taxes) specifically for the open-door setup. This booking was for 5 passengers, representing a significant cost.Prior to the flight, we were informed by email that due to weather, the flight would be closed-door only. We were given two options: reschedule or accept additional flight time. However, NO REFUND or PRICE ADJUSTMENT option was offered, despite the closed-door flight being sold at a much lower price (around $274)!!We did not want a closed-door flight, as the open-door experience was the entire reason for booking. Extra flight time DOES NOT COMPENSATE for the removal of the CORE FEATURE we PAID for.Additionally, FlyNYON’s online advertising is misleading. Their promotions imply flying close to the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan landmarks, but in reality the helicopter flies much farther away, not matching the advertised images. DO NOT TRUST THEIR POST ON INSTAGRAM!This operation feels like a TOURIST TRAP, taking advantage of visitors who have limited flexibility and may not be able to reschedule or return to New York anytime soon. Overall, this resembles a BAIT-and-SWITCH pricing and marketing practice.WILL TELL THIS EXPERIENCE IN ALL MY SOCIAL MEDIA! I guess it should be 0 STAR REVIEW!!!!
Absolutely the worst thing/ experience you can book during your New York trip I’ve been fighting to get my money back with them over $3000 they scammed me out of You book online and think everything will be good and you get what you wanted to pay for But nooooo They emailed me same day trying to change my whole experience so I didn’t even want it any more after how unprofessional they are So I asked for a refund And to speak to the manager They told me no refund and the manger is to busy to talk to me Live and lear Don’t make the same mistakes as me Find a different company and definitely ready reviews before hand
Poor experience with this scam of a company.I made the mistake of getting caught up in the Black Friday Deals moment and didn't read the T's&C's until after (yes my fault) booking and being taken in by being able to guarantee the experience of having my feet out of the doors for a great photo moment OBVIOUSLY for an additional price per person - being a black Friday deal I felt compelled to book this so called amazing experience with additional upgrades at the time, however it wasn't until after I booked I notice there were many caveats to the booking, weather conditions, decision by the pilot if they wanted to leave the doors off or not and so on. One of their so called great deals is not being able to cancel and get your money back despite wanting to cancel a month before planned ride.This company should be avoided at all costs, (unlike my error and bad judgement) do read up on the reviews before booking and taking your chances with this awful company.My decision I know, but I feel so strongly about this scam of company that I have decided not to even bother attending as I feel even being a few minutes late will incur further costs..Don't waste your money with this company!
I rarely write reviews, but our experience with FlyNYON New Jersey was so frustrating that I felt it needed to be shared.Our original flight was scheduled for 25 November 2025, but it was cancelled due to rain and weather conditions. That part was understandable. What wasn’t acceptable was the level of service we received throughout the entire process. The staff were unprofessional, unorganized, and at times outright rude, offering little communication or basic courtesy while we stood around trying to figure out what was happening.We were rebooked for 26 November, the day we were flying home. The weather was still poor—foggy enough that the helicopter had to fly lower than usual—but at least the flight went ahead and we got some of the experience we paid for.However, the biggest disappointment came from the “doors-off, legs dangling” upgrade, which we paid extra per person for. Once boarded, I was able to sit in a seat where I could dangle my legs as promised, but my partner was placed next to a solid steel door, making it completely impossible for him to do so.Since the entire experience was mainly for his benefit, I asked if we could swap seats. The answer was a blunt “no,” with no attempt to help or offer an alternative solution. It was incredibly upsetting to realize that we had paid for something my partner couldn’t even experience, due entirely to their seating arrangement—not anything stated during booking.To make matters worse, when I asked about a partial refund for the upgrade he couldn’t use, I was told this wasn’t available. No apology, no compensation, nothing. Just “no.”Overall, the combination of poor service, lack of care, and refusal to refund an experience we were charged for but only half received has left a very bad impression. The flight itself could have been great, but the way we were treated overshadowed everything.I would not recommend FlyNYON New Jersey. The experience feels chaotic, customer service is lacking, and you may not get what you paid for—yet still be denied a refund.
My partner booked a helicopter ride for my birthday in October. The way the seating was arranged by weight meant that there was so much wind hitting me that I couldn’t even look out/open my eyes/breathe for the entire ride. Now, 2 months later my partner has noticed they have been taking money from his bank account and set up a subscription!!!! SCAMMERS, AVOID!!!!
