Arrived promptly and great value for money. Have purchased from them before, gifts at Christmas and never had any issues. Before purchase, read the small print I.e how long they last, days you can and cannot use them and also check the areas available for whoever the gift is for. Should then have no issue redeeming them.
A min after placing the order, I realised I hadn't put a message inside the gift. I emailed immediately asking to put a message inside, but they wrote back it had already been dispatched! But 2 days after, I then received an email stating "your parcel has been dispatched"! Then when it did arrive, it had my name on it and not the person I wanted it delivered to. I'm just hoping the invoice with the price on wasn't inside! This was September 24th and they've just replied on 8th October saying I'll put the note in the parcel!!! Unbelievable!!!!!
Afternoon tea for 2 at cricket St Thomas chard very poor. Thick china cups poor quality bread sandwiches and cakes very cold almost seemed as though they had been frozen the only good part was the scones which had been warmed. Would recommend smartbox inspect the quality of what is being offered at this venue.
I purchased two "Champneys Spa Break with Treatments, Lunch and Dinner for Two at Springs" for my daughters, I received two voucher codes one of which cannot be used as it says the voucher has already been used. Buyagift have confirmed the voucher has already been redeemed and used at the hotel, I am fuming as this is an expensive gift and should not happen or at least should be looked in to how it has happened. I have emailed buyagift 5 times and spoken to someone over the phone who assured me they would look into this and get back to me. I was told it is like leaving your bank card lying around someone can take your details and use your card..... so does that mean someone at buyagift may of used my voucher and name as they are the only other people who have this information and surely whoever used it must of had the barcode and some id. I will not let this go until I have a refund as it is not acceptable for a company to sell a voucher and a company to say I have used it even though I have not it is still here with me!21/10/19My update....... still waiting...... can’t believe I am expected to chase for my money back on a item that has already been used!! I bought a present for someone else, I paid for the physical delivery but..it never arrived. The courier delivered to a completely random address. When I tried calling the ocurier, all I got was an aswering maching that said my order had been delivered. When I called smartbox, a machine told me to send an email. I send an email and got no response so far.
Most unethical company I've worked for. They don't respect market rules (and are hardly hiding it), they don't respect laws in general, employees and even less their partners or customers. The worst I've seen is them selling empty products on the website (gift-boxes with no configured content) in order to make live market studies. After some time, they would keep the ones which pass the test and simply remove the ones which doesn't sell well from the website then let their customer service deal with the unlucky buyers. When they call! Cause something like 35% of Smartbox revenue is made from the absence of service: basically people forgetting the box in their library. Which means that some people will never even be aware that they bought an empty product. On top of that, the Smartbox is considered as a currency and not as a service, as such, it is not taxable (and eligible to expire, contrary to a service). So the partners ( and indirectly the consumers) pay the service tax, but not Smartbox group, which HQ is currently implanted in Dublin's tax heaven BTW. Conclusion, the only thing smart about Smartbox is the business model itself, and probably their lawyers. So please, don't get fooled, and buy real gifts.
Smart box delivered promptly nice package. After a proper look on partner and locations I have founded lots of hotels unavailable for weekends. I work mainly on weekdays and the only opportunity to travel and have a nice time isn’t on weekends. The few locations available on weekends are fully booked on the reserved slot for the smartbox . I will try to find a better option for the future.
