So far not so good

So far not so good. Ist time was a UK break, booking process was difficult, reservations managers never available and then no dates available. finally booked a hotel only to leave after the first night as it was so awful.However I put this whole episode down to bad luck and tried again.This time I have a european two night mini break, after 4 overseas phonecalls to Budapest (it turns out the reservations team doesn't work weekends or evenings) I have been told I cannot book any of September or most of October. So Ican go when the flights are very expensive or its really cold. To be fair the lady I spoke to was very apologetic but doesn't help me book my September break. Next hotel I tried, again has no reservations team available to speak to in the evenings or at the weekends and vouchers cannot be redeemed online. Attempting to communicate via email, but I hold out little hope. I know it says there may be some date restrictions, but as I don't want to go in high season or in the school holidays I didn't think it would be this hard. The phonecalls will have probable cost me more than the voucher by the time I manage to sort anything.

I have read some bad reviews about.

I have read some bad reviews about smarting but I have had some lovely choices.I have been given several as gifts and I have never had a problem and think they are good value for money.This customer is happy.

Bit of a scam

What a load of tosh ,had this box now for 12 months and not used it on hotel breaks because it's inconvenient dates or fully booked. Basically you get leftovers.And to be honest if you end up paying that extra night which normally is 2 nights stay minimum you can actually find accommodation yourself cheaper.

Such a shame..

Such a shame, as the idea is fantastic. We were really excited by this when we recieved as a gift. Reality is that the European hotels we wanted to stay at did not even respond, and every other UK based option claim that the stays are only good for Monday to Thursday, and some rooms (eg. Dog friendly) arent included. Absolute greed. Wouldnt mind but i know what this cost my fiancees dad, and it wasnt cheap. Save your money.

Do not buy Smartbox

I've received "3 Tage in Europa" smartbox as a gift and I have encountered so many issues trying to use the voucher. It's impossible to book hotel directly through their smartbox website even though they claim they have over 560 choices for you to choose. The dates are always blocked. I've tried writing to them via email to make reservations. They keep telling you they will check with hotel but 2 months have passed and I still have not receive any confirmation from them.Please do not buy from them. This looks like a scam to me - you will end up having a voucher which you have no way of using it.

worst of the worst - avoid at all cost

I was given as a gift two boxes from two different people: I have tried many times to book their hotel , but was always refused, I have tried many many times, always the same story. Smartbox is NOT a serious company: they just overload their catalogue with Hotels that they will NEVER accept your voucher. I worote to them and NO answerAVOID AT ALL COST
