Smartbox has stolen my money. I tried many times to book different hotels in Switzerland and elsewhere. Always waited 2-3 days for an answer if they would honor my CHF 359.- Smartbox gift from my girlfriend.Unfortunately I cannot spend 24/7 making reservation requests and them later...days later... not being honored.So finally my Smartbox ran out. I found no easy place where I could get it renewed. Finally after numerous indirect ways, I found someone who was happy to extend it. Now, again I tried a few times to book places and again no joy. Again, this Smartbox Voucher has expired.This time the Smartbox people said: sorry, your CH 359.- bleongs to us, with no alternatives. Basically, buyer beware.I warn everyone to stay away... that this is not an honest or serious company. Beware... from my experience there are no rooms available. They are selling something that is at best slimy, and at worst a fraud.Absolutely shocked never to repeat customer.
I was bought a £59.99 dinner date voucher as a birthday present, which I exchanged for a meal at Jamie's Italian. Although the meal was nice enough, we found out that its value was £49.99. This was not made clear on booking, and of course there is no way of accessing the missing £10 to put towards something else..... A nice scam by Buyagift.com and left me feeling that the person who kindly bought me the gift has been ripped off.
Really bad customer service and deceiving service. I bought the package for my parents who wanted to use it 9 months after they got it. They chose a destination but the hotel said they rescinded the contract with Smartbox so we can't use the code anymore. Smartbox said they can't do anything, no refund, no other warranty, despite the Smartbox saying all hotels in the booklet are guaranteed, you just need to be flexible about the availability of the hotel. In all, what they deliver is not worth the price of the package. because their destinations would be much cheaper if booked directly instead of using the smartbox. E.g. you buy a 200CHF Smartbox but your journey is worth 100-150. The customer service didn't bother to do absolutely anything about their customers' satisfaction and this is yet even more disappointing.
