Review Time
I am writing this review in hope that it will spur somebody from gear4music into action. On the 4th of November I ordered a used Martin d10e from your website with order number W12508239 for £799 plus a shipping upgrade. On the 5th November I received 3 emails at 7am, 10am, and 11am all stating that my order would be delayed due to a supplier issue. I found this a bit strange considering it's a second hand guitar, surely you'd have it in stock. 10pm the same day I received an email from DPD stating my order was shipped and would be delivered tomorrow. Brilliant I thought. I arrived home on the 6th November to find the package waiting for me. I was greeted with completely original Martin d10e packaging. However once opening it what I discovered inside was a Martin dx-2, fairly well used with several marks on it and a stained case. A quick Google of the model and it would appear I've just received a guitar worth half of what I've just paid. I contacted you immediately via a link on my order and started a return. It stated I would be contacted within 24 hours and receive return tracking information.I was contacted the next day and after sending some photos and reviewing the original advert it turned out that the guitar had been falsely advertised by yourselves. The original advert for a used d10e consisted of mainly photos of a new d10e and 2 small images of a used dx2. Something I admittedly hadn't picked up on as they do look similar. This also being my first ever guitar purchase, and I felt in safe hands with the "guitar experts" ( direct quote ) at gear4music.8 days later and despite your apology and acknowledgement of the error I still have the dx-2 sat here in the packaging waiting to be returned. No return postage has been booked. Staff from customer services while very polite take days to reply at a time. Can someone please contact me regarding this matter. I had wanted to return this and then use the refund plus additional money to purchase a new Martin guitar from you but I'm losing faith here
A special thanks to your manager, Leo at Gear for Music. I was chasing one of two speakers that I had ordered which has been lost in the system by DHL. The Gear for Music representative kept telling me for more than a week that it will arrive tomorrow". Then the representatives said that they could not do anything until the investigation was completed by DHL. I lost all faith in the mighty Gear for Music company at this point. I requested to speak to a senior representative. Fortunately, manager Leo called me back immediately. I explained that two speakers needed to be installed in a hall belonging to a charity. I made a request for either a refund so I could purchase another speaker or send out another speaker to my home address. Leo listened and said he will follow up and call me back the next day at 1pm.To my pleasant surprise, Leo called me at 1pm the next day, just like he had promised. Leo explained that he had spoken to DHL to retrieve the lost speaker back to Gear for Music, once it is found. Leo also arranged to send me another speaker to be delivered the next day to fulfil my order. The replacement speaker arrived the next date as promised and were installed at the hall on this day. My faith in Gear for Music has been restored. A big THANK YOU to Leo. Kind regards, Chan
I am very disappointed with Gear4music. I bought a guitar and requested a return within the 30-day money back guarantee. Twice they scheduled a collection, and twice nobody came. This has cost me time, stress, and even days off work.I asked for the return address and label to send it back myself, but they keep delaying and repeating the same responses. This feels like avoidance and poor customer service.I strongly advise future customers to be careful. A company of this size should respect its return policy and not waste customers’ time.
I had a great experience purchasing products that aren’t yet available through Dutch (online) retailers. I ordered the Kanto Ora + Sub8 set, and it was shipped quickly and with exceptional care. The pricing was very competitive, and the standard 5-year warranty reflects Gear4Music’s confidence in the quality of the products they offer. It’s also a big plus that they have physical stores in Germany so no import fees, and delivery is fast and hassle-free. Highly recommended!
Ordered a 200 Euro bass guitar (new). It arrived on time but it had many damages and scratches. I created a return request. The only communication with the site is through emails. Mine was directed to junk mail. The number on the website leads to a voice chat bot which "is not affiliated with any store".I eventually was able to contact and arrange the return.
