Review Time
Not entirely a perfect experience but they eventually covered repair of air conditioning condenser.I initially went to Halfords to have review report sent and then had to go back for a picture to be sent. At this point I was fearing a stitch up. Took over a month to repair plus 3 visits to Halfords
Do not waste your money purchasing an AA warranty as they will try to claim that virtually anything you may need to have repaired is due to wear and tear, so not covered. You are much better off using any other company! Having purchased an AA warranty on a second hand car to give me peace of mind, my car failed it's M.O.T due to a broken rear spring, rear brake not working correctly and a coolant leak. The only item that the AA paid for was one replacement spring. Everything else was either due to wear and tear or was not covered due to the wording of the warranty.
Almost great no issues! except if it's a warranty and the vehicle is taken to a vat registered garage, as you request it is, why do I, the customer have to fork out the money to then claim it back at a later date, surely in this day and age the payment should come from whoever the warranty is with
I do not know how such a large company and well known name can provide such a apalling service. They make you take your vehicle to Halfords then do not cover the claim and you have to pay Halfords rip off prices. Why make you go to Halfords then say your car did not need the parts that Halfords fit. A joke from start to finish still not had my £200.00 towards my £1030.00 Bill nearly 3 months ago.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Paid for a 12 month warranty when I bought my 10 year old car, gears failed and AA rejected claim under wear and tear 'due to the age and mileage'. Independent report said there was damage and no signs of wear and tear. Customer service final complaint declines claim as they only cover immediate mechanical failure not wear and tear. Ended up costing me £1200. I asked AA if we could come to an arrangement, 50/50 or something but rejected that too. If they decline claims based on age and mileage, why cover a 10 year old car. Pointless waste of money - do not buy anything through the AA. I've cancelled my AA breakdown cover as a result, I'm not lining the pockets of this company anymore. Would much rather take my business elsewhere.
I've claimed once and failed the second time. The first occasion it took at least a month and I was sent to several garages prior to them listening to me and realising only the franchised dealership would be able to fix it. Anyway long story short i did get the money back but they kept saying I would only be able to claim part of it back... but still refunded all of it ?? Made no sense to me but obviously bit stressful prior to knowing I wouldn't be out of pocket. Second attempt of claiming I cut straight to the chase and went straight to the dealer instead of their recommended place, having to lose my car for days at a time with no diagnostics at none franchised places. The car was failing to start from cold. The dealership fixed it as it was an earthing issue, apparently this is not covered by the warranty and so I have to pay for it to be repaired. I sometimes question what the point of a warranty is if it isn't there when your car stops functioning. So yes, a mixed review from me. Hard work to start with but with a good outcome then easy with a bad outcome. I suppose you have to look into what type of car you're buying and what likely issues you'll have as most issues are not covered. I can't wait till I have my mot as I have a warranty for that too, I bet nothing is covered. ( tongue in cheek )
Although I eventually had a repair paid for I was incorrectly advised and fairly abruptly upon the first two phone calls I made.My plan was replaced a couple of months later by a new plan with some clear differences. The person I spoke to did not know this until I pointed it out.The whole process is long winded and getting a repair from the so called repair agents in my area is a joke. Halfords simply can not complete suspension repairs!! All the I rung said it was not possible. I had to find my own repair agent and get them to deal with you. I had to pay them however before you gave me my money back. That process is too long winded and far too long.InI the end the repair was paid for hence the three stars bit other wise it would be two. Overly complicated with staff that appear to be using excuses before you have even got to what's wrong.
