If there were a minus star option, I'd have chosen that. An absolute con! Buyer beware. Bought the Gold cover last year for a Mercedes. Technical issues. Took car to AA Approved garage...work totalled £2000. Refused by AA as 'not covered'. Experienced problems just this week, again AA refused. Not covered and no explanation given despite multiple emails back and forth. This is nothing but a scam. AVOID AT ALL COSTS..or it will cost you dearly. Cancel if you have it. Wish I had read the reviews prior to purchasing. Shocking!
DO NOT USE ! I PLEASE I BEG YOU NOT TO USE THEM. I am speaking from experience as I have the platinum package and I have made 4 claims in total all valid and none have been covered. This is the WORST WARRENTY I HAVE EVER BEEN WITH. THEY NEED TO GO ON WATCHDOG. Personally due to experiencing the worst service I do not know if they could even do anything to even make it better. I have been hit with over a total of about £8000 in bills to fix this car and still have to pay warranty. Currently as we speak I have to fork out another £629 to fix car as something has gone wrong with my the coding which obviously has nothing to do with me but they have declined claim yet again. Why I paid for the Gold package I do not know. I CAN DEFINITELY SAY GETTING WARRANTY FROM THIS COMPANY WAS ONE OF THE BIGGEST REGRETS IN MY LIFE. SAVE YOURSELF DONT DO IT
To say we are disappointed is an understatement! Policy clearly states a part is included to be repaired but then is rejected because they have decided that the part is a general term and is split into several parts they don’t list and conveniently the 1 part we need isn’t covered , having to now borrow money to get the car fixed as we are NHS key workers and need a car now more than ever! Cancelled the policy as clearly not worth the paper it’s written on ! 😡
I ordered a tower computer and purchased their extended warranty for the computer along with Microsoft office for the computer. The order was accepted and my credit card was pre-billed. The next morning, I received notification that the computer order was cancelled as they did not have it in stock any longer. However, they are still billing me for the warranty on the computer I did not receive and for a software code for a computer that I am not getting. Three days of phone calls, un-transferred calls and we will email you paperwork to get the refund and no return calls, no emails except asking for a rating. Filled out the rating and asked for a supervisor to call me back. NOTHING. Going to my credit card company.
Paid extra for Repair insurance. Mercedes van broke down. Advised AA, and they asked to be contacted by garage to authorise repairs. Repairs authorised. Insurance commits to covering first £500 of claim. Received only £360. Reason? The garage used Mercedes parts!!!! What did they expect them to use??? Absolute con. Have cancelled policy - not worth the paper it was written on!
Absolutely useless one of the turbo pipes have failed on my car even with 5 star cover I’m not covered apparently this is ran by a company called motorway direct plc and this company do everything they can not to pay out for warranty repairs I’m pretty sure the financial ombudsman and trading standards will find in my favour Edit:The situation is now in the hands of the motor ombudsmen and I still would avoid aa warranty no matter what as situation is still not been resolved from beginning April 2020
Not to be trusted! There was some mix up with the drives for the printer Hp Pro 8025. Did not know I had them installed so I went to the 123.hp.com , the website pointed in the instructions of the printer that I bought, and it gave me fatal error.Chatting with the live assistant, it asked me about the ph. number to fix the issue with the technician going in my computer. A dubious person called, and I disliked the so called help, because they wanted to create a new google drive with a form that asked all my private information like name, card info, email, which I did not trust at all, so did not go through. After that I realized I had the drives there all along.
28/Mar/20 - I can't believe this is anything to do with the AA !I bought a car from an AA approved dealer, came with an AA warranty (or as I understand Prestige / Motorway direct) the salesman was very pushy for me to take extended 12 month warranty. Firstly the car had just had a service, MOT and a AA 128 point check, I did the test run around town but when I picked up the car and drove home it started shaking over 45mph , that turned out to be a deformed tyre/bulging inside wall at the back - not picked up on any checks !Next morning it was frosty, heated screens didn't work or the stop start, the dealer also advised me the timing belt had been done on service, I phoned the centre that did the service and found out it had never been done, on reading warranty cover it seemed nothing was covered if services had not been done properly so cancelled 12 month warranty, I have now been waiting 5 weeks for refund (had to refund by 14 days by law) dealership kept telling me to take car to get checked under warranty but wouldn't give me the 3 month warranty number, eventually after 3 weeks got car to be checked, approved garage report back to warranty and then warranty to dealership, despite having emails confirming to pay for these works prior to inspection that they will pay for these items they will not authorise payment to repair garage, my car has been there 11 days now with no sign of repairs being done anytime soon and nearly the weekend so will be minimum of 14 days, despite complaining to AA they have been absolutely useless at getting this sorted, i have asked but will not get reply as to courtesy car or offer of a rental. So basically take no notice of a seller being an AA Approved dealer as this means nothing, they don't seem to have to meet any standards and don't bother with an AA warranty as it is basically useless and read reviews, 35% 1 star negative on Trustpilot alone, AA warranty at 45% 1 star bad/negative.29/10/20 - 7 months later you reply, even then it is indirect, not addressing the problems I had, insurance due soon, I will switch to anyone but AA, will not renew warranty with AA, in fact AA or associated companies affiliated to AA will never get a penny from me
In keeping with a lot of the comments here this is should be avoided at all costsTheir ‘wear and tear’ exclusion policy is so extensive it is very difficult to see how they will pay for any mechanical failure on cars older than 5 yrs. my recently purchased 5yo BMW developed synchronous (!) faults in the turbo, flywheel and a clutch bearing after just a few months and somehow none of it was covered. They make you go to one of their providers, and then refuse to pay for any of it after 2 weeks of diagnostics. I commute 80 miles a day to get to work, and struggled for three weeks. Total cost was £1800.Insult to injury is that the telephone number they provide costs about £10 per call, and they never update you, so naturally you call in every day to find out what’s happening. Nice £90 phone bill just now.It is badged as AA warranty but it has nothing to do with AA; I purchased this for piece of mind as I was entering a 4 year HP. The whole thing is a con from start to finish. Don’t be missold this terrible product!!! There are better cheaper ones that actually cover you as you expect. First time I’ve done one of these reviews, such is the frustration and disappointment
