Horrible mom died on April 3rd then while trying to get things in order and sent them death certificate and said they would put account on hold then son committed suicide on April 19 then while dealing with both they came and towed moms lease vehicle and left us in cold and because when didn’t have executive paper yet wouldn’t talk to us
GM financial is horrible. App is down, website is slow and archaic. Can't put me on autopay because my email is not on file. But I already have a vehicle on autopay...can't add my email to account, and charges me a late fee.All I want to do is be on autopay. And they just can't pull it off. Hey GM financial...1993 called and wants their payment technology back. That's my rant, have a great day.
I bought a 2021 Buick through GM Financial. I had it refinanced about a year and a half later to cut the interest rate. I was never late on a payment and always paid more than my minimum payment. I went Friday to purchase a new 2023 Cadillac and was denied by GM Financial. Evidently my excellent credit history with them meant nothing. My credit score was higher now and income was comparable. It was very upsetting that my excellent history meant nothing.
I’ve had GM from 2016-2019. Then again from 2020-present. They haven’t changed. They constantly never take down notes and bother your for information that you’ve already give 6 other customer reps. They are rude 9/10 times. I was late on a payment for a week and the rep called me and I told her I would be paying it but am behind due to another rep telling me I was up to date on a payment from that month (they had glitches in their system for a month and a half) and said I would be paying the payment the following week when I get paid. She had told me I would get my car taken away and they would report it on my credit for being over a week late. I let her know I know how things work, this was my first late payment and I wouldn’t be getting my car taken for being late by 13 days. She then began to yell at me and I hung up and called again to report her however she has called me since even though I told them I would not be speaking to her ever again due to her doing that. They don’t care about their customers. Half the time their portal to pay your bill is down. Worst place to get a loan from. GM sucks anyways. Can’t wait to be rid of them after this year.
I am only giving it 1 Star because that’s the lowest they have. Absolutely horrible service. Their APP sucks, and if you need to get ahold of customer support you’ll be on hold for an hour. Their website and APP both NEVER remembers my log in information. I’ve tried numerous times to set up autopay and my payment will ALWAYS show up late. You would think being Americas largest automobile producer they would have their shot together. Hyundai, not a problem at all. Smooth sailing. The next GM I buy will be through a different loan company. I don’t get on and waste my time writing reviews for the hell of it. I am a very busy man and don’t have time for it, unless I’m completely an unsatisfied customer.
Unfortunate that while there is a car shortage GM Financial takes advantage of its good and creditworthy customers. At the end of our lease we were able to extend for an additional 6 months at the same payment and the person at the dealership told us that we would get the same monthly mileage allotment in our case 1000 miles per month. Much to our surprise we paid all those months and 0 mileage allotment. We have received an astronomical bill charging us for each mile over the original lease miles. Meaning the GM Financial expects you to pay for a car and not drive it. Be careful and definitely will never finance through them again.
Make SURE you ask the dealership what loan company they're using to finance your vehicle and make SURE its NOT GM Financial. They will harass you, call you threaten to take your vehicle and they WILL repossess it. They have ZERO programs to help people who get behind due to hardship. They're not a company for modern times. Be warned: they will NOT help you or work with you.
DO NOT GET A LOAN WITH THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE CROOKS! Last May my sister passed away and left her vehicle to my daughter. She had a car loan through this company. My sister’s death occurred in the vehicle so it has been in the possession of a car insurance company and repair shop for the past 6 months. During this time, I have been trying to contact GM to inquire about the loan, (how much payments are, where to send payment, etc). They have refused to talk to me despite receiving the paperwork they demanded I provide proving that I have authorization to do so, (Death Certificate, Probate Forms, Authorization from the Executor of the Estate, etc). Similarly, they have repeatedly refused to speak with the Executor of the Estate claiming they “don’t have the necessary documents.” We have emails, fax confirmations, and phone call records that prove otherwise. As we have been actively trying to speak with someone regarding the loan so we can make payments on the vehicle, GM Financial STOLE the vehicle from the repair shop, (which was still undergoing repairs), claiming WE broke the “agreement.” We did/are doing everything in our power to speak with someone at the company about the loan but they continue to refuse to speak with us. Hours and hours on hold, lies, and zero communication are what you will encounter if you take out a loan with this company. STAY AWAY!
GMFinancial is a complete sham of a company! I had great payment history for years, and my account was pulling from Autopay. One day autopay just turned off at no fault of my own and my payment went 30 days late. Of course once I realized I paid immediately, but they aggressively will report you to the credit bureaus! I begged one of their reps (Adrian) to send a deletion letter or account in good standing after paying everything including their late fees, but this company refuses to do so! I had an over 800 credit score that took a 100 point hit. They have no concept of customer service. As others have said they are rigid and will not help you in any way. I will never do business with GM again. If you are in the market for a vehicle, finance with your local bank or credit union and stay away from this company!
Credit score went down I have leased a car with GM. I paid on time every month and returned the car on time after 3 years to the qualified dealership. After returning the car I kept getting the call saying I need to return the car...but that's another story. I received a new payment bill that does not have any details on it, no explanation on what is the charge for...etcDue to bad experience of returning the car I thought this was late fee or something(which I returned on time) turn out these is separate fee called disposition fee. My credit score went down about 150 pt due to this. Over all very bad experience with leasing the car and GM finance with their service.
