Their customer service is completely trash and the way they handle payments is beyond annoying. I paid my account early due to other bills needing to be paid for my move into my new place. I got an email saying that I had an auto payment coming up to which I went to their site to request a hold on the payment seeing as I already paid, but when I got to my account it said my next payment would be $0.00. So I thought to myself, "Oh cool so the system isn't going to charge me again." That thought process was wrong. A second full charge was taken out of my account. So which I requested a refund on one of the payments to which they tried to say they couldn't refund a payment that hasn't been posted for less than 8 days, I paid the first payment on the 2nd and it was the 14th at the time. So they tried to move around that to start until I reminded them of the dates of payment. Then the agent said that they will process the refund and that it would tske 3-5 business days. Sounds good right? Problem solved? Fast forward 7 business days, giving a little time since my request was later in the day so I figured it might be an extra day or so, no refund. I message them again asking for an update, then I'm informed "We aren't a bank so we have to mail the refund. Which will happen the 8/3/21." A full two weeks after the process was to take place. Here I am on the 16th of this month with a other payment taken out of my account and still no refund. To which they are canceling the last one to do another 3-5 days of processing so they can try again. Absolutely ridiculous.

Can you give 0 star

Can you give 0 star? Never, ever, ever buy or lease a GM vehicle. This company is ruthless. They reported that I had 8 late lease payments after I had turned in my lease vehicle at the lease end. I never knew what they did until I attempt to obtain a mortgage and the broker told me that I had had 8 late payments. When he provided me with the dates, I was shocked to find the dates were after I had turned the vehicle in and the lease had ended. It had taken me months and months to attempt to correct the credit rating they negatively affected. You would have better luck beating your head against the wall. It is still not corrected and GM is costing me thousands in higher interest rates. There are better cars and better companies to deal with.

Scamming extra payment!

I paid off my car in full. I had a perfect payment record. This company billed an extra $339.65 after the car was paid off, refused to repay the money! They blamed the bank! They are inaccessible with lengthy hold times to verbally resolve the problem, hanging up on me several times! Be careful ….this is a predatory company attempting to continue to bill your account after full payment has occurred.

Horrific Customer Support

Horrific Customer Support. Don't bother calling. Long waits. Poorly trained agents. Non existent issue resolution processes. you will NEVER get a callback. On one of my calls I waited on hold for 45 min. The Agent could not assist me with my issue, and I asked to speak with a manager. 10 Min on hold. I was then told none of the managers could speak with me and that I should hangup and call another time. No process to take my number and have someone call me back. Their solution was to have me sit on hold for another hour so I could go through a second 30 min run around in the same day, to get nothing accomplished again. when I told her I would hold for a manager or their boss' boss, she placed me on a brief hold, came back and pretended that she couldn't hear me, and hung up. She confirmed my phone number at the beginning of the call... -No call back. Worst support team I have ever dealt with in my life. And its every call... The support Director/VP should be fired. My issue was that I placed expensive, brand new tires on my lease return 2-days before I returned the vehicle. The tires were of a higher rating an speed than what I leased the vehicle with. They red flagged the tires with no description as to why, and without telling me when I returned the car, then billed me for another full set of tires, which i got the bill for weeks later. I'm ok with that, surprisingly, but I asked to have those tires returned to me or the line item removed. I have two of the same car, and I will happily take them back and use them on my other vehicle. But I'm not buying two new sets of tires for a car I don't own. Not to mention I returned this vehicle with 15K less miles used than I paid for. I cant even talk to a manager about this. GM... I purchased $80,000 on cars from you in the past 4 years. Listen closely... I will NEVER buy another GM as long as I live... EVER! ...And I will share my experience and position every chance I get. I hope stealing $700 from a great customer was worth every penny.

Zero Stars

Zero StarsIf I could give GM Financial zero stars I would. I entered into a 39-month lease in December 2017 for 1000 miles per month. For those who are unaware, the monthly payment is calculated based on the projected depreciation of the car considering the 1000 miles per month option, so 39,000 miles after the end of the lease. If you go over those 39,000 miles, you are assessed a penalty. If you're under, there is no refund, so the lessor wins, regardless. I was under by almost 11,000 miles by the end of my lease. My car had absolutely no structural damage whatsoever, except for normal wear and tear. Moreover, I had paid to renew the vehicle registration for 2021, and my car was returned in March. Finally, I spent $200 to get the car detailed before returning it to the dealership. After all that, one would think an ethical company would take all this into consideration, but no. I was charged a $600 disposition fee. Imagine that--paying the company to resell the vehicle. I'm sure that GM will come back and make stupid claims that "this was in the contract" and other BS, but the question is not whether it's in the contract or whether it's "standard industry practices" but whether these sorts of provisions SHOULD BE in a lease agreement. Afterall, I was charged monthly based on 39,000 miles and the car was resold at only 28,000. The car registration for 2021 is paid for (over $300 in California) and the car was cleaned and detailed prior to returning. All that alone should have warranted at least an offset of the egregiously STUPID disposition fee. But no, GM received a windfall, which is unlawful and unethical.

Charged for excess ear and tear AFTER…

Charged for excess ear and tear AFTER lease check in was completed. Vehicle sat at dealership 45 days, vehicle was pristine with 20k less miles than lease allowed. Due to wording in lease agreement, this company can legally charge consumers, even though it is not he right thing to do. Check in policy needs to change at dealerships to avoid these issues. Shame on you GM Financial, you refused to resolve this issue!! Bad Bad Bad business

Agree with all the other bad reviews- do NOT finance with GM

A greedy disgusting company who is money hungry and will mess up your credit at a drop of a hat with little to no basis. Should be bankrupt. They were paid 90% of a loan for a vehicle and still put negative hits on credit while insurance took one day over due date to pay them the money. Refused to take it even after loan was paid in full. POS pariahs.

Do not trust this company

Do not lease a vehicle through this company. I have leased 3 vehicles through them and thought everything was ok. The end of my last lease was during the height of COVID so I conservatively decided to not lease another vehicle immediately preferring to wait and see about doing so during recovery. I take very good care of all of my cars and had never before faced any financial penalties as lease return. Imagine my surprise when this time I found I owe a large sum of money and here is the kicker. They entice you to do business online or in their terms "paperless" but I cannot find any explanation online of why I owe them money. When you call you find that they have very limited business hours for people answering the phone. They have no real concern for customer service as evidenced by the fact that you can never get hold of anyone and even their chat feature is automated. Bottom line is if you decide not to lease another at end of term they will try to soak you for as much as they possibly can basically daring you to try and look into it.

Greed over a future due payment

In February 2020 gm financial took my car in the middle of night. They never sent a letter/notification of any kind informing me of their intent to come for the car. They came after only 2 months of non payment. My payments were delayed because of financial hardship but I was just about to come into the money I needed in a few days. When I got the money I had enough for the two past due payments and the repo fee. They refused to take just that. They insisted on also having the next due payment which was coming up in a few days. My car note was already high so imagine them expecting me to have the future due payment also. They absolutely refused to compromise with me over a payment that wasn’t due yet. I lost my entire car because of their greed. Since then I’ve had to rent cars and haven’t been able to be approved for another due to them putting this on my credit, let alone come up for air because I MUST have access to a vehicle to do my work everyday. I read reviews from people who’ve been A-1 customers with them and how they’ve treated them horribly. I would never have dealt with them as my finance company if I knew.

Terrible Customer Service

I had an autopay for paying the monthly fees. For some reason it ended on November and didn't pay the December. when I noticed this in January 7th, there were late fees accrued in the account. I tried to call the customer service, but got the obnoxious prompt of communicating through text message for over 18 minutes. Finally I gave up and chose this option. I sent a text message, only to receive a response in the next day from Danya requesting me to fill a secure verification form. When I clicked on the link my phone line immediately went into a lock and it stopped calling (dropping from half a ring) and not allowed to send any text message. Then Danya considered that she solved my concern and moved on. Now although I paid for December, it's not shown in the system, late fees still there and now I have a broken phone that I had to deal with. Absolutely terrible customer service. This is beyond terrible, although I worked for GM for over 6 years, and this is my second GM car, it's most definitely my last, including friends and family. What's even more ridiculous is that I tried to submit a complaint through the GM financial service, after finishing writing the complaint, it failed to submit and requested that I call them. The irony of that!
