Went for a meal with my family at the Albion in rainham Essex tonight , we enjoyed the atmosphere the food was absolutely spot on and the service from the staff was brilliant and nothing was too much. Long may this continue there is a great landlady and a great team of staff around her Top class
Me and wife went for lovely meal at the half moon in Mildenhall the lady that greeted us was called Leslie she went above and beyond to help have a super meal and evening we give her 5 stars for this well done to Leslie keep up the good work.
Stayed a night at the (as the web site states) recently refurbished Red Lion in Fareham. If this is true GK need to reclaim the money. Tatty wall paper hanging, awful vomit coloured yellow paint, tiles in bathroom old rather than retro. Old heavy furniture that is not antique. No lift. Nothing blended together in a coherent or pleasant decor. Tired, dated, and so many more negatives. Won't be staying again.ADDED - to be fair the staff in the restaurant at breakfast were lovely, really friendly and helpful. And the breakfast was superb, lots of choice, well cooked. I had a child's portion and couldn't eat it all.
Tried to order two meals and two free deserts with their Con Birthday Offer. Most of the mains are on offer if you buy two. We went for the most expensive but couldn't use the free desert con voucher as the small print says "cannot be used with other offers" so we left without buying anything apart from our drinks. Well done Green King with your con voucher. What you need to take on board is the lifetime value of a customer. I often go here with friends and family but no more. So you con con offer voucher has cost The Golden Hind Portsmouth over £1000 a year in turnover. Well done marketing!
